The beginning of the end for Tommy starts today. What we have known for a long time has finally been published. We had to wait for the CVA to be proposed before acting, and acting with a vengeance is about to start. In a nutshell, the share issue giving Tommy 57% of the shares is illegal, meaning he owns at the most 17% of the shares. Thank you David Keyte for messing that up. Wouldn't want to be in his shoes when Tommy finds out though, especially as Keyte owns racehorses and Tommy has friends in Sicily oh dear

They are due to play St Neots Town at home on Saturday in the southern league, that is of course if the ground first passes it's safety certificate. It certainly is touch and go as to whether or not they can fulfill their opening game of the season. and they surely can't leave it until the 11th hour?
The management officials of the southern league are certainly going to have egg on their faces should the game end up being postponed.

It's a nonsensical situation, just like with Chester. It'll only become clear when they start to fail to make games.

I don't think you can liken it to Chester or Telford as they had a ground to form the new Phoenix club in with Local Authority support... More like Accrington or Newport with a very long wait to get back into any noteworthy league unless Hereford council are prepared to right off the debt and develop the ground to an acceptable standard and agree a very low rent which I would have thought unlikely...
RIP

If Animal Hospital was still on we'd have Rolf Harris in tears while he stuck his needle into the Old Bull.

No qualified safety officer or deputy in place it's rumoured, a must for a safety certificate. Without one, the gate is limited to nil. So, if their opening fixture against St Neots does go ahead, it'll behind closed doors. Don't know if this allowed under league rules but would have thought they'd face a fine at the very least.

RIP Hereford's stadium could be brought up to scratch. It's just these clowns don't want to spend any money and don't know how to run a football stadium.

Although the council shut the ground over safety concerns on 4th July, it wasn't until midnight on Monday that a safety consultant was hired with the council due to inspect the next day. There'll be another inspection on Thursday with their opening fixture against St Neots just 48 hours later. The chairman of St Neots has tweeted "Why don't clubs get things right like safety well before the last minute. Very unprofessional and causes problems for us Will we play or not". Not a happy bunny.

A safety certificate has finally been granted so their first game will go ahead on Saturday. With the supporter's trust boycotting home fixtures, it'll be interesting to see what the gate will be.

The average gate in the Southern League Premier last season was 298. I think the lowest was 69.

Local radio reports gate limited to max of 1000 spectators. I'll be surprised if they get half of that on Saturday. I've been reading that there may be protests outside and possibly inside the ground on Saturday. What a way to start a new season, not.

How many games do you think they will get through before finally folding??
What a shambles being allowed to be played out. Your team wins v Hereford but you guess that you will lose 3 points some time in the season when they finally go and their records get expunged.

Too true. Coming from the south of the county, I thought of Hereford Utd as being a local team and so I've been following recent goings on. As I know that members on here are sensitive souls, I've been careful not to repeat most of what I've read on the net....

I won't be surprised if on Saturday they end up having to turn fans away. People are curious by nature and the novelty value means that many will not be able to resist staying away.

The Southern League seem to be doing everything possible to support Hereford Utd. If they do manage to get decent results they will see an upturn in support.

Why should they get all this bending over backwards when other clubs try to do it the right way. I feel for the fans but the club ****ed up so they should pay the price. Fairness is more important than a long standing history.

The Southern League seem to be doing everything possible to support Hereford Utd. If they do manage to get decent results they will see an upturn in support. I wonder if the Southern League are being so accomodating because having an ex league club will raise its profile and they are expecting crowds (home and away) to be large. I really hope that the club fail on the pitch and the fans stay away to force out the current regime. Unfortunately there's too many fans nowadays who dont have principles and if there is some success on the pitch then they will go flocking back regardless of whats happening with their club. However Id be amazed if they had any success bearing in mind their pre-season preparation was even worse than ours last season!

According to the Hereford Times, the police are expecting a crowd of up to 350 on Saturday. Their last home game in the Conference attracted 2,445 spectators.

The only way to get rid of these parasites it's to starve them out.
It's death by a thousand cuts and must be tortuous.
I don't understand the old chairman selling to them though. That's the mystery.

Some 350 fans protested peacefully outside Hereford's ground today before the first match of the season. Inside the ground, the Hereford Times reckoned there were 400 spectators but the club stated it was 568 including 38 away supporters. There's no way of knowing what the attendance was as no tickets were given out at the turnstiles as the ticket printing machine wasn't working. St Neots won 2-0 but were impressed by their opponents. The next home game is on Tuesday night against Slough.

Solidarity to the Trust and the boycotters. No surrender.
Shame on the scabs and the likes of former "B&A favourite" Ex-Landlord who broke the picket.
