I put Lewis I'm FM as two year youth contract and then one year pro, that's the right way to do it I believe. Still mad though can recall the club ever having done that before so he must be s**t hot.

So we have Eleven if Bradshaw and Goldson sign. Not inc Harry, Thats more than last year. If we have any youth team left we may even have enough to have subs to. I guess we need 11 More players? In less any get paid their contracts paid off.

Let's hope Mellon has the signings lined up - another shocking summer of failed attempts to sign players with the squad as it is now would be a catastrophe.

yeovil just released their captain, jamie macallister left back. aged 36 but would make a good captain and boss the back.. manager johnson says he plays like 32 year old!

I suspect given the pressure on budget we will be looking for hungry players willing to accept relatively low pay to make it in the league and therefore a reasonable proportion of released youngsters/others from the 72 league clubs and some non league players.....based on our gates I would think a wage budget of £750K - £1 million for the squad would not be far off and to achieve that we need some upwardly mobile players with ambition and fire and hopefully talent all to be galvanised and energised by our coaches....but what do I know!

There’s no doubt that the squad needs a fresh impetus of players eager to progress and grasp the opportunity to prove themselves; and therefore by freeing up wages of established professionals, who probably could do a job, is the only way we can move forward. I would think that Mellon has been thinking about players he would want to sign and have a list of potential targets in mind. If a manager wants to get back into football he would be doing his homework ready to hit the ground running. I agree that he would have had to take in account MJ thoughts on last season’s squad, but MM would have final say; but it is not uncommon for players to be out of favour when a new manager is appointed. The awkward bit for the fans is the waiting…because this is the period of behind the scenes discussions and negotiations.
But what we can hopefully look forward to is a new side of players who we can choose our favourties from, who we think is a waste of space and who is being played out of position - it's what we do best!!

Interesting news about Grandison and Goldson. If Goldson signs then we have four centre backs (plus dom smith) already signed up.
It has the starts of a fairly acceptable squad and I think at least 5/6 starters. Not too bad.
Priorities have to be strikers (as ever), first team keeper, left back and left winger. Effectively replacements for JJ, Weale and Parry.
Slightly surprised Anyon wasn't offered the chance to be first team keeper, but hope we will only sign one first team keeper, as surely Burton should be given the chance to be a back up and we do have Danny Coyne if needed.

definitely need someone like sharps to boss the back. about 10/11 players needed unless youth still coming thru. imo only 1 gk needed, callum as deputy. the horrible thought i have is can we hold on to what we have let alone afford 10/11 new players. dear old Roland has a cunning plan, the moths are flying in that heavily rebuilt Bentley. the combinaton locked wallet is open. 6,14,33,36, 39 and 44 for those doing the lotto tonight.

Burton isn't ready for the 1st team yet, and Lewis certainly isn't if this is the same lad i've seen play.

when does the transfer window open? you can sign anyone now but they can't officially join until July 1st Unless we sign players that have already been released by other clubs. This looks like the case with our first imminent signing of the summer which, going by reports from Sky Sports, will be Ashley Vincent.

Six centre backs. Safe to say we are quite well endowed in that area.

Six centre backs. Safe to say we are quite well endowed in that area. Mellon obviously thinks not with the addition of Mark Ellis this morning unless 1 or 2 Centre Backs are leaving.

Hello boys.........and you thought I wasn't watching you.
Right, I think that I should put all what you all have said into perspective, and I'm not saying any of it is wrong. Mellon cannot afford to bring in an unproven striker or goalkeeper. He needs names. A striker who doesn't have to think as to how to put a ball in the net. I say this because a talented youngster is a 'maybe' or 'might do it'.....Mellon can't afford that type of player. A goalkeeper of Weal's standing is needed. One other thing is ........its all very well to have a striker of the calibre I'm talking about, but you've got to have the quality to make sure the ball gets to his feet or his head. Someone of Parry's quality....and brain !!
You can blast me all you want about Parry.....he was and is, class.....its a shame.

Looking at the squad and only one player bought in to the club in the last 2 seasons since our promotion, remains. Really shows how poor the dealings have been in the last few years

Sam can you add the contract lengths to this again like last year, that was really helpful. Eillis and Micky D were 2 years
