Shrewsbury Town supporters are leading the call for all local football fans to get behind their side’s efforts to retain their League One status by attending the Bank Holiday Friday game against fellow strugglers Crewe Alexandra at the Greenhous Meadow, and to show their true colours at the same time. A statement from the writers of the club’s fanzine, “Blue and Amber” reads: “Blue and Amber fanzine urges all Shrewsbury Town supporters and local football fans to get behind the team in the Good Friday game with Crewe Alex by turning up to the game in their blue and amber colours and making the atmosphere as supportive as possible for what will almost certainly be a crucial game for the team. The club have done their bit – a recent upturn in form and an excellent “bring a friend for a fiver” deal. We want fans to wear club colours and to bring balloons, streamers, and most importantly their singing voices for the game. The fanzine have ordered 1000's of balloons and these will be handed out at turnstiles. Thanks to the club for allowing this and helping us to build as good of an atmosphere as we can for this vital vital game. The manager and the players are fighting for their lives to stay in League One and we are all backing them 100% in the final weeks of the season” The game kicks off at the Greenhous Meadow at 3pm on Friday 18th April. Tickets are available online at www.shrewsburytown.com or by calling the club direct on 01743 273943.

Will this get more attention if unpinned?
Also worth noting that the "Bring a friend for a fiver" deal is open to all, not just STH's
Great work though. Let's hope it enspires the lads

a slight fly in the ointment is my 99 year old mother who i care for, the old duchess was born in crewe on 16/6/1914 and goes for a 1-1 draw which will do neither club any good. not sure if dario gradi was manager of crewe in 1914, i think we should be told.!

I've un-pinned it.
B&A have also ordered around 2,000 blue and amber balloons to be handed out for the game on Friday.

Should be a decent atmosphere for a change, hopefully Crewe will bring a full contingent to help crank it up a bit. Good effort by club and fans this

If we get anywhere near the noise we created at Tranmere then hopefully we can roar the lads onto a vital win.

Hopefully people will get to this game.
The fact is, if we lose this then the rest of the games probably won't matter!

My thoughts too. Would have come to this but had a holiday to Majorca booked this weekend since Christmas so it ain't going to happen. Still with my record of results at GM I'm far better staying away anyway, team have far more chance of winning with me not in attendance.

there is to be a special collection in aid of a memorial to the ksli and the 4300 odd who died in ww1, including walter atherton who would have been my great uncle.
i reckon town might set the world on fire stuffing 5 past crewe. it is after all s**t or bust time. high time we had a penalty or 2

I've got to get there first. I can't start work too early with it being a Bank Holiday. If it was Monday, I'd have no chance.
We've all got to do our bit by getting behind the lads, if we go a goal down, increase the noise. As long as we do our best, if we fail, at least we've tried.

graham and roland teddy bears and i will be hoping town put in a good performance. in the sloppy, jacko was hinting that not every player was pulling their weight. i assume jacko has gcse in morale and confidence building.

The lack of balloons cost us today. I can only apologise about the way it turned out. We have to have a hard look at ourselves in the mirror over the summer and ask if we are the right fanzine for the club

We have to have a hard look at ourselves in the mirror over the summer and ask if we are the right fanzine for the club I did think the pre match B&A statement that we'd have balloons capable of challenging for promotion was a recipe for disaster. I demand answers to this shambles!!

by the end the fans were so apathetic they couldn't even be bothered to boo properly. At 0-3 down you'd have seen a bit of anger but it's worse that most people are beyond that.
