The design happy ones are good but just don't like the heads, they look like goofy clipart lions. We need to go traditional and the head on the 90's badge is the best i'm afraid. I like the vector shield but those loggerheads look way to cliparty.

Hi Zebra Teddy,
Comments are appreciated but we must stress we are not intending these to be final designs. Take these as digital sketches.
The old badge is not 'brand ready' for the 21st century, but it could be with modern updates.
We deal with varying different personal opinions everyday in design and all are relevant to a design process. However, with good formulaic design and brand presence we are confident STFC can have a modern day 'copyrightable' badge to compete with the recent top modern football rebrands.
A good example would be how Arsenal FC moved their badge on from old > new, which is now a brand rather than something that is easily bootlegged. As brand designers we are asked to design for the next 20 years, not the previous and sometimes this means pushing things outside comfort zones.

I'd forgotten how brilliant that second one is.
That would be the absolute dogs, although I agree the Loggerheads need toning down on the manes and making into leopards.

Lions have no affinity with Shrewsbury Town FC or Shrewsbury as a whole. The only lions I can think of in the town are at the column. This is a time for the campaigners to really make a stand, perhaps get in contact with Design Happy to come up with some decent 'Loggerheads based' badges together ? There is a real danger here that RW will just authorise what he wants regardless of the fans. I would suggest that the Fans Parliament make it a priority to get Mr Wycherley to say it out loud in a room full of people that he is happy to go with the consensus vote (and that doesn't mean he picks a load of clip art lions for the fans to pick from). One of the choices must be the traditional 'Floreat Salopia' badge and to make it fair one can also be the clip art lion ! If Mr Wycherley doesn't say it out loud, I will predict that our new rebranded badge will be a clip art lion alternative - all voted for by the fans ! Question - can anyone find out why 'lions' did come onto the Shrewsbury badge? My understanding is that Lions and Leopards can be 'Loggerheads' in heraldic terms. It's interesting that the Loggerheads on the Old Market Square are 'Lions'. So did someone decide that they would use Lions this one time. Wonder if it had anything to do with the old Fire Insurance Companies. For those that don't know, there wasn't a universal fire service back then. Each insurance company had it's own fire brigade. If you had insurance your house had a plaque outside of the company you had your provision with (hence why you see plaques with what look like Shrewsbury badges on them on buildings around town).Just wonder of one company had leopard loggerheads and another went for lions. In terms of Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council, seems like 1974. This of copurse then led to what I call 'Selwyn's badge' which came onto the Town Shirts in 1996. Second question is to Design Happy. If the football club could get ownership of the Loggerheads, how would this affect Shrewsbury Cricket Club and Shrewsbury Rugby Club using them (or variants)as well. Doing some prep work for tonight's meeting, what I realised was just how many different kit design and badge designs we have had, especially when compared to other clubs. Motivation for tonight is finally to put this to bed once and for all, and have something that we all agree on. Ade

Second design has legs but it must be said the first one is fairly awful. Anything that has all three of the loggerheads and 'Floreat Salopia' gets my vote. Having 'Shrewsbury Town' and then 'STFC' underneath it makes no comprehensible sense and is as much of a sin as the clipart in my eyes. Agree with this, but I also think they all look a bit too much lion like and would much prefer a more traditional looking loggerheads design. But great to have you involved! Same here. They include a lion. We don't need three lions heads, we need the Loggerheads.

Good luck with the meeting tonight. I can't be there due to a prior commitment but I will be very interested in any feedback. All we can do is plod on and if we get nowhere in the end just keep wearing all the loggerheads gear. Optimistically though something will eventually be sorted.

Oh BTW Design Happy - what are your fees? I hope design happy are not doing it for a business perspective, there are plenty of fans willing to do it for nothing in which some of the designs are just as good.

Will the Blue and Amber Twitter account be posting updates on there during the meeting like the last meeting?

You're not wrong, if Malcolm Starkey can be voted a club 'legend' then anything (that Roland wants) can happen. I remember fans regularly singing 'Malcolm Starkey is a banker' (or something similar) from the riverside, fast forward 20 years and he's a legend, as voted by the fans

Well a very interesting meeting with as I have said in a new thread that a lot has been done BUT I and many others were a bit down on a fairly poor turn out with regards to what was on the agenda
