The club don't seem to be rushing to discuss anything with the fans since Martins departure. The lack of any meetings with the S P since Matt Williams arrival sort of indicates what his attitude is to fans opinions. Also what happened to the advertised position for the fans rep. ( not sure of the exact title) it was sated that it was a football league requirement to have one in place at every club yet we're only a couple of days away from the new season with no announcement ..... Has anyone who showed an interest in the position and applied been interviewed ?

Some interesting questions their Davy.
I "applied" for the Supporters Liaison Officer, but its gone dead on that. Not sure whats going on.
In terms of the meeting, its been more of a SP issue, as we have all been away on holiday and most are only just now back and ready for the new season. Cant blame the club for that. Add to that the focus over the last month from the SP was to get the vote sorted and going which took time.
Should be good to meet up again next week, anyone with anything for the agenda let us know.

Appreciate the SP are all volunteers and have lives outside STFC but wouldn't and early meeting with Mat say in May or early June have helped give him our view on things like the open day which didn't happen and the various ticket fiascos (members card, non reserved seats for Blackpool etc..) or even given an answer on the Legend card mystery ? Sure holidays will make it awkward but it's been a good few weeks since his arrival and not everyone has to be available or you'll never arrange anything... Sorry just my view, no criticism intended......

Glyn , I expressed an interest too but suggested multiple SLO posts, in particular one who went to and liaised with away clubs SLO & Safety Officer , Ticket Office etc . Not sure if Alan & Club will go for it but seemed a good idea to me .
Was a special workshop on SLOs at last weeks Supporters Summit . Will let you have the notes if you want .

Could we have an update on when the next meeting will be. Time has moved on and we are now into the season. There are issues raised by the fans, things that the club may need help on, explanations of new policy and initiatives by the club that could do with airing in public. The purpose of the SP is to improve communications both ways. At the moment there isn't any is there?

There is a small meeting with a few that has been called Martin for tonight, but its not a full SP meeting. I don't fully understand whats going on at the moment, and with the New CE, its seems things might be a little different. After tonight we should be able to move on a little. I think now people are back from Holidays and we have seen how things at the SP have slowed down a little, it gives us a chance to talk about the structure again in my view, and giving people specific roles so that things are kept moving at all time.
Certainly something to talk about IMO.

Is this an invitation to the reps from the existing groups? I had thought that the basis for the SP was sorted. Obviously it is up to the club how it wants to communicate with the supporters and I am sure I am not alone in hoping that will be an open and easy process where the opinions of all can be represented. Please let us all know what happens from tonight's meeting going forward.

Will do Martin, I'm keen for it to be formal as it was, but this meeting is seemingly agendaless and more of a catch up. Invites only went out at the start of the week, to a few people I believe, but its best to be honest that its happening. The next meeting will be the first SP meeting of the new season and I will be pressing for it to be very soon.
As you say it all depends on how the new CE wants to engage with the SP. We shall see

We met Matt last week, by we I mean a few of us who put our names forward to deal with the badge vote at the last SP meeting, as these were some of the people Matt had dealt with in the last few weeks. It was not a SP meeting. it was a catch up where Matt wanted to express how things would work with the SP going forward and get some feedback from us on how it would work. He also used it as an ideas forum to bounce some ideas off us as he had us as a captive audience.
I'm not sure its my place to say what we discussed as a lot of it was off the record (understandabley so) but item number one on the agenda (with the badge being two ;0 ) at the next SP meeting swill be feedback, the meeting is planned for the next two weeks.
The next SP meeting is open to all who wish to attend and there will be updates provided at this meeting. Lots of things to discuss at this one.
Not being cryptic, that's what it was. I want to be clear that this was something our new CE wanted to formulate a way forward. If the chairman of the SP want elaborate further they can, or come to the next meeting.
As I have said elsewhere, Exciting times.

The sound system............again..............and again
I don't care what some sound expert says, in block 18 YOU CAN'T BLOODY HEAR IT. This is quite simple :
1. Turn it up to 10
That's it, there is no second point to add.
I doubt this will deafen anybody in the ground or indeed anybody in the Sutton Farm/Meole Brace neigbourhoods but what it will provide is a lowering of safety risks if and when needed
On 25 minutes or so today there was an announcement made that could not be heard. This is an absolute no brainer, just turn it up !

Can someone raise the question of loyalty points for Superblues members? Based on a reply I got back from the ticket office it seems this hasn't been finalised for this season...

I suggest that's a question for the Superblues to answer personally.
I don't think the SP should be getting involved in the internal machinations of the Super Blues personally. Not sure what anyone else on the SP thinks?
Best bet is give Chris Smith a ring... i think his number is on the website somewhere.

They are involved as far as the last few meetings are concerned, and have some active members attending and the meetings and getting involved, but they are still their own group too, nothings changed there. As I said it something I have seen asked about a few times by people (SB Loyalty points), but in reality its an issue that effectd only fans of the SB and as such not really the remit of the SP per se as its tasked and focused on the whole fan base as a whole.
As I said CS or any of the folks from the SB will let you know the score I should imagine.

When will the next SP be scheduled for? What is happening about a committee structure going forward so that the views of all factions of the supporter base are represented?
Just because things are going better on the pitch doesn't mean that there may not be issues, questions, ideas that may need to be put to the club by supporters.

All the next SP meeting (open to all) has been arranged for 19th November 2014
Time - TBC (Likely 7-7.30 start)
Location - Greenhous Meadow
Matt Williams will be attending.
We have had plenty of questions and comments on this thread, but now is the chance to get anything down you want via B and A and we will aggregate it together for discussion with the club. The deadline for this will be 13th of November (so we have time to let the club come up with some responses at the meeting)
Also on the agenda will be the SP structure and key roles. Also already on the agenda is playing shirt 2015/16 and badge update. Ticketing going forward (lessons learned from CFC).
All more than welcome.

I would like to know whether the club will have learnt from our previous tenure in League 1. What do they plan on doing differently next time? This is not a dig at the club, I would just like to know if they have any plans for our promotion (which is looking likely), for instance, keeping the bulk of this squad etc.

LEGENDS CARDS When this was launched it was agreed via the SP with the club that 80% would be spent on decorating the Stadium... I banner erected, an excuse made re GT's yet nothing has been said since last season
1. how much was made 2. when is there going to be a notification to members? 3. Can 1 year members still take part due to the lack of activity last season? 4. When is the balance (£2500 at an estimate) going to be spent on decorations?
SUPERBLUES LOYALTY - It has been stated that a club representative agreed to the loyalty points that were advertised with the renewal would be awarded to SB members. This did not happen. Why? Are the club going to honour this without the need for individual members to request them?
Supporters Liason Officer - this was advertised last year and apparently an internal appointment has been made, yet nothing has been advertised to supporters so no one know who he / she is....It was sated the club wanted a fan to do this job and perhaps share so a regular away supporter could for example represent away supporters.. What changed?

Atmosphere at games... Thoughts of longer term creating a singing section behind the goal and/or closing block 19

The Supporters Liaison Officer, is Jamie Edwards I think part of the Community team at the club. Initially there was some discussion that a fan might take this role on (i applied and had a couple of chats) but this was not taken on.
I have not met the guy, and hes not been involved in the SP at all (yet). I hope an invitation is extended to him for the next meeting, as given his role, it would be good to have him there.
Also just to add a Press Release is being written at the moment that gives more details on what the SP has been doing these last few months.

creating a singing section behind the goal and/or closing block 19 Not too keen on the block I stand in being closed so I can go and effectively be a cheerleader for the South Stand. It's like the suggestions that come up on here to give blocks 1 and 2 over to away fans- closing a block is very unfair on the people who sit in it - it's essentially ruining a community.

I guess just to echo a couple of points already made above.
What does MW think about the atmosphere at home games? Does he think it can be improved upon? Has he read the many comments made here on B&A about this subject? Does he believe a singing block is viable, something that could be looked into? Is this something he could see the club helping to at least get started? How was it at Blackpool, did they do anything there is order to help create an atmosphere? If so, what?
And going on another point made above about learning lessons; what is the situation with the root and branch that the club announced would be conducted. Can we have some sort of feedback from this? Appreciate we might not get too detailed information but is there anything the club can share on this? Has it started? I won't ask if its finished as no doubt its ongoing but has it helped us identify what may have gone wrong over the last two years? Is there things that we must do differently next time around?

It was a suggestion. The SP is open to suggestions to discuss. I suggested this because A) there is enough room in the rest of the stadium even if it is closed B) Lower the likelyhood of trouble C) hopefully lower police costs Feel free to suggest any other block to be closed

I don't think we should be looking at closing blocks, we should be looking at filling them.
I would like to ask the question of what we can do to fill the stadium. We filled it against Chelsea, which means the people are out there. My idea would be to seek the opinions of the extra 5k who attended and ask them what could be done to attract them to attend on a more regular basis (other than playing Chelsea every fortnight)
Perhaps a questionnaire on the official website, or a questionnaire through the door of those people (the club will have the addresses, not sure about the privacy thing?)
There are reasons why the ground isn't full and it seems to me that the best people to ask are the ones who only attended the Chelsea game. As regulars we may have our opinions but we may well be wrong.
