All
This thread has been set up to gather thoughts and ideas on agenda points for the next full meeting.
Before this meeting we plan to have a interim meeting to discuss the re branding as we have been given some responsibility to go away and work out how we can deliver a survey and the methodology behind it. This will be open for all to attend and I encourage anyone who's interested in this to do so.
However we will have to sit in the Sp for the second time sometime int he summer. There will be a focus on the open day and the match day experience I would guess for this one, so ideas pertaining to this would be great.
I think the first issues that B and A would want to put forward is to bring the fence issue up as it effects a fair number of peoples match day.
Anything else is welcome though. if you have a urgent question then please ask the club directly, but if you have ideas and questions of a more strategic nature that might be best brought to the club via the SP, then please let me know.
I will update this thread with a meeting date when its known.

As I stated in the Fence thread I would leave the club out of the loop on this fence issue for now. STFC have made it quite clear they have no intention of getting involved on this , and it’s a waste of time waiting and thinking they will!
So maybe the best approach is for the supporters groups, B&A even individual supporters take the lead on this to the council first, then we will find out what action, if any. is required by STFC.
I would not be surprised if the council replace the wooden fence and extend the metal railing to the gate in the very near future!

I would be interested to know what areas around the ground could be used as prematch entertainment?
The use of a marque as a supporters bar could be part of a larger package involving the wider business community. You can combine a bar with a farmers market (local food (which can be collected post match), face painting Hogg roasts etc), florists, hairdressers, bookies, tourist reps, large stores promoting local activities , reps from local groups, sponsor stands, STFC specific stalls.
OK some of these are a bit random but a match day experience is more than just the 90 mins. If we are a community club then we should include them on match day - money may not directly go to STFC but it may help attract more to the ground and make attending the game more attractive

I think getting such people as Daniel kawzinzki and John Tandy to meetings as well as members high up on Shropshire Councils list to come to these meetings is a start. There are many issues we could address to them alone.

I'd like to know why the away supporters are housed in the North Stand and not in the South Stand and whether this could ever be reconsidered in the future? From what I read on here it seems that it is the people who attend every home game who face inconvenience each match day when really if there is to be any it should be for those who happen to attend just one game each season. That gate that we have to separate the supporters for example, shouldn't that be at the South end of the West Stand? Also, regarding the open day. I would really recommend looking to get as many local clubs as possible involved. Get the club working closely with all the sporting and leisure clubs in the town and surrounding area to put together a really good open day. Invite the local cricket club down, invite the local rugby club, hockey club, martial arts club, any local arts and crafts groups, any collectors groups and then we also have the Town youth, ladies etc. team too. No idea how much room there is but provide some space for each of those invited down and ask them to set something up. Encourage them to put some interactive stuff in place for people to get involved. You would hope they would be keen to attend as it provides a good opportunity for them to attract new members, players and interest. Get the involved and say that it will become a regular event and then hopefully as each year passes the set up for each club would improve in time. Just send a message out now and see who is interested. I guess we also have sponsors, are they invited to set up anything at the open day? Kids love balloons. Nowt worse than heading down to the open day and there is very little to see and do. The more folk you can get involved the better I reckon...

Stutty, the club would love to here Ideas like this and would implore you to pass these comments onto Martin James. This season I plan to do something on the open day, like a cross bar challenge with a decent prize, on the training pitch (or where ever it can be housed) Need to sort the details out with Martin but something that might be interesting.

That local archery club comment made me chuckle. Plenty of targets I'm sure. I'd be aiming for those clip arts just above the entrance... Mind you, is there one? As that would be a cracking one to get involved as if they have some gear people can have a go with that would be a winner I reckon. The best one I came across was a baseball net and one of those machines that pitches the balls to you. The kids were given a bat, bit of coaching and away you go. The kids loved that. Not sure there are any local baseball clubs, mind. About getting in touch with the club, I guess this thread will be discussed in the next meeting or? So you can pass this on to the club Huracán?

One another thing, can we start talking about the merchandise on offer? Can you please ask the club how many Onesies we have sold? How many are left? Can you ask the club how many Retro Track Tops have been sold and how many we have left? Have these been a successful addition to the club shop? If so, why are they sale items already after such a short time? Who is making the decisions to stock such items and on what basis? Plus why are the club against allowing an outsider (such as Nike) take over the running of the clubs shop? Looking to clubs who have Nike as their kit supplier they have a better choice then we do when it comes to merchandise. So with that in mind, why can we not have the same?
I appreciate that the likes of Nike, Puma, Adidas, Macron etc. don't have a blue and amber colour scheme at present but I understand the club have never asked. Lets do so and see if it possible? Is there any harm to check what could be possible? This could be taken up by the SP? Can we ask the club what is needed to be considered here (colours of course, order size etc?) and then ask what could be possible? Whether someone from the SP could contact kit suppliers on behalf of the club?

Stutty, I may have posted this before but a while back I quizzed a mate who works fairly high up in one of those big manufacturers you mentioned about kit deals, and he told me the following: Hi Mate Generally speaking, there are two types of kit deals between clubs and kit manufacturers: 1. Sponsorship The kit manufacturer pays a sponsorship and licensing fee to the club (plus usually a guaranteed royalty amount). eg 5m per year sponsorship fee, plus a royalty on each item sold, with a guaranteed royalty amount upfront. For that the brand gets the exclusive rights to use the club's name and badge and produce and sell all the kit and replica wear (usually with bespoke designs for that club). If the manufacturer sells it to (e.g.) JJB sports, the club gets a royalty per item. if the brand sells it to the club to sell to fans, the club gets the retail profit as well (which is why clubs always tell you to buy from official club outlets). 2. Teamsports The brand sells a quantity of its 'own-brand' playing kits to a 3rd party supplier, who does the deal with the club, then badges and brands the kits, and assumes the risk on the inventory. Big manufacturers generally use this model with lower league clubs (although sometimes also used with 'smaller' Prem clubs also) where the return doesn't make it viable to do a full sponsorship deal. They can be a good deal for all 3 parties, although hard to predict sales etc season to season. Can imagine option 2 working with Town, no idea if its been discussed with one of the 3rd party companies though. Cheers PS - don't mind if you use this info, but just say it came from a 'a mate who works for one of the big kit manufacturers" ?

He also added the following with regards to not being able to do blue and amber:
Can't speak for anyone else but sounds like b******s to me. If we can make every shoe at the Olympics luminous green we can do amber and blue stripes....

Yeah, I contacted one or two clubs a fair while ago now and even had a chat with the chap from Hartlepool and they were with Nike with the second option you mention there. The chap from Hartlepool was very happy with the arrangement. Like I say, I spoke to him years ago and Hartlepool are with Nike today so that would suggest it is working well for them (whether they have been with them all this time I am unsure but either or, if they are with they today it suggests it works well for them).
As to the colour scheme, no idea whether a Nike or Puma would be happy to introduce amber and blue but it would be nice to find out. All do amber, it's just getting them to include it with a blue.
I don't see any harm in checking what is possible...

Also, can we ask the club again whether it would be possible to ask Surridge to include a range of merchandise with the Loggerheads? Maybe a polo shirt with the Loggerheads rather than clippy? Or one of the half zip training tops with the Loggerheads? Would be most welcome that I'm sure by a fair few fans.

Would it be possible to ask the club about their thoughts on the new FA proposals regarding a new division inserted into the league to allow Premier League B team to join the pyramid?

Of not will get it on next agenda

Still no second communication re. The Legends fiasco....... Richard hill stated a further communication was planned at the last meeting A second correspondence is to be prepared along with the announcement as to why there has been no second banner as yet. Read more at www.shrewsburytown.com/news/article/7apr14-supporters-parliament-meeting-minutes-1474409.aspx#Q6EO1DEDvApETAWZ.99the longer nothing is done the more likely we are to end up with 1 / 2 banners and f all else....... Can you get the point across that those who did join did it solely to make the stadium more attractive not for some half price ticket to Alton Towers or other discounts.... IF they fail to decorate the stadium with a decent number of banners then I for one would be asking for my money back from this failed promotion........

Could we explore advertising on shrews player at 1/2 time rather than having nothing(silence), other clubs have done this, cant quite remember who but may make a few extra quid.

Having just read the thread about the young Portsmouth fan winning compensation from our police force for their actions at the end of season game over a year ago I wondered if something like that could be discussed? Personally as someone who has never been involved in any kind of trouble with the law I want to be able to go to matches and pubs in the same way I can any other day of the week ie not treated with suspicion and as a criminal.
Personally I thought the police's actions on the Portsmouth game were pretty disgusting. This was a club we have no rivalry with, nothing was at stake and it was last game of the season, I couldn't see why this was a risky game or why the police acted in this way. The one thing was that the Portsmouth fans were actually celebrating saving their club so this attitude was totally out of order

Seems to have all gone quiet in here !
Anyway, I've got an idea that I wouldn't mind someone putting forward to the club.
My mates boy is about to embark on his first season as a fan at our club, so I wanted to put together a kind of mini-guide/pocketbook type thing for him so that he could get to know the players a bit better, know the opposition etc
. A summary page - squad numbers, position, mini-photo, signed from, appearances, goals that kind of thing Fixture list . One player on each page with the official profile provided by the club, but also a 'fans view' perhaps from B and A ? . Then a guide to the opposition teams. Perhaps an official summary and maybe an opposition fans viewpoint, one page per club
That's 60 pages in total in a handy pocketbook. I think it's be a winner. Not last year because we had no players but this year I think it'd be great for everyone but especially the youngsters.

yeah sorry its been a bit quiet, we all seem to have been on holiday at the same time so its been difficult to arrange a meeting etc. hopefully we should have the next sp meeting date by the end of the week.
great idea on the pocketbook, if anyone has the time etc to put it together im sure the club would be more than happy to supply the profiles and images, as usual its just the time involved in putting something like that together. TBH glyn and the fanzine guys may have a better idea of how to do it

We could call it The Idiots Guide to STFC and make it available to all. Or Everything you wanted to know about STFC but were too afraid to ask.
If it gets called the Idiots Guide, can you send a copy to SillySevern, the ****in' idiot.

When is the next meeting? It's been nearly three months now!
Anyway, a few questions. I'm sure I will think of more...
1) Badge a) Update on the badge vote, how many have voted? b) How are things progressing with sorting out a new badge if the majority vote yes?
2) Ticketing a) What is the justification for the increase in the minimum cost of a ticket from £16 to £20 despite relegation? b) Why were fans not consulted on the matter formally and before the announcement? c) Clarification of how the 5 game ticket works. d) The clubs has mentioned 8 ticketing offers can be done throughout the season, what are these likely to be?
3) Money a) Sales figures for season tickets (and comparison with previous seasons) b) Sales figures for new away shirt (and comparison with previous seasons) c) Through what means is more income going to be generated across the year? d) How are the new signings being funded?
4) Legends card a) We've still only got one very lonely looking banner up. When can we expect the rest?
5) Open Day a) It is the only chance most people get to meet the squad or for supporters groups to promote themselves and is generally pretty popular. Also a chance to sell merchandise etc... Why wasn't one held?
