could the shrews beat leicester. the weather will be a lot cooler and the lads have had 2 dummy runs.
i would have liked town to have had an away game at serious opposition. still leeds must be the fall guys.

The Leicester fans are panicking on their forum, I think they forget that there's only one division between the clubs now!
According to their forum they have given the attendance as 1,800 with 493 from Leicester.

Played well, deserved the win, comfortable throughout
Looked more like 250-300 Leicester then nearly 500. Great banter late on from them regardless
Very promising indeed for the Shrews

Excellent performance from the town today, so much so we made Leicester look poor. I'm feeling more and more confident for the season now.
Positives: -We already look like a team and not a squad full of individuals, everybody seems to have fit in nicely. - Flexibility of squad. The new boys played in various positions today with Parry on the right and middle when he came on, and Wildig on the left. - The defence. We looked solid at the back which led to a 'We've only had one shot' chant from the away fans. Said shot was a punt down field from Schmichael.
Negatives - May get shot down for this. Still think we need another striker. Gornell and Morgan were awesome today and took their goals expertly. I am however still of the opinion we need a clinical poacher. Not seen enough of Dobie to judge (looked ok today) and struggle to see Bradshaw cut it this season.

Not usually a fan of friendly games but been to the Brum game and today's game and must say ive been very impressed by both performances!
Played some really good stuff today, and although i realise its just a friendly we made a full strength Leicester side took poor.
Special mention for Michael Hector who was a class above any other player on the pitch today! Looks to me like weve found ourselves a cracking player there!
Might even make the effort again for the wolves game!

Have to say Asa Hall was tremendous today. Between him and Hector for MoM. Taylor's crossing appears to have improved over the summer as well.

Good team performance today Purdie, Hall and Hector looked the pick of a good side. After the way Gornell and Morgan took their goals today they deserve a chance to show what they can do in the league. Looking forward to see how this team fare this season

Hector and Hall were excellent today and I can see we have the makings of a good team and an excellent squad with good cover, my biggest concern would be firepower, despite excellent finishes today from Gornell and Morgan I fear Bradshaw and Doble are not equal quality back up so would like to see another striker option before the start of the season and I think GT knows this as he has alluded too.

Asa Hall was superb today, controlled the midfield and a performance like that wouldnt look out of place in the championship, Hector looks a great asset too

Hector my man of the match. Never put a foot wrong.
Gornell, Hall, Purdie all very good.
Anyon made some smart stops, but threw the ball straight to one of their players and was also involved in a mix up that saw the ball trickle along the goal line.
Grandison started slowly, but then produced a good performnce.
I was less than impressed with Jones. Seemed slow throughout and definitely lacked pace.
Wright produced a very good 1st half performance but then faded.
Taylor was fairly anonymous throughout the first half and was rightly subbed. His game seems to have gone completely downhill since his early performances for us.
Doble was enthusiastic, but produced little end result.
Richards had a steady game.
My remarks about Taylor apply equally to Bradshaw. He too seems to have lost his way.
But all in all a very encouraging performance. My 3 areas of concern though are central defence, right side midfield and striker.

Hall my man of the match followed by Hector then Gornell. Purdie has looked very steady too. I could think up 3-4 possible starting line ups for Leeds now, not a clue what Turner will do. Would still like to see a striker come in though.

Can anyone describe how the goals were scored, please. They're on Facebook if you have it Gornell was 20 yards out, left footer, running left, hit back across to the far corner past a diving schmiechel The second, looked like a miss-hit Purdie cross from the left that Morgan bullet headered home

I thought Jon Taylor worked very hard and was excellent in coming back and covering forcing their attacking moves to break down on more than one occasion and he got forward and played his part.
True JT is not the free spirit scoring goals he was when he broke on to the scene but I suspect that is because GT is asking him to play a certain role in making the right side strong defensively in addition to his efforts going forward
