A Brit in the men's doubles final and in the men's singles final. Superb stuff.

is it right that sundays final will be the first ever where they present the trophy before the game starts ?

Correction....its a Scotsman in the final Such a pleasant chap aren't you? I hoped the "other" stuff was just a bit of banter but why the need for this thread? It's well known he's only Scottish once he's lost, end of.

hm the queen is going, do hope she takes her sword of state with her. she may have occasion to use it on someones shoulders. it has been done before when hmq greeted francis chichester at plymouth as he stepped off gypsy moth, he was the first to sail around the world.
no pressure at all on murray he just needs to emulate ginny wade when she won wimbledon ladies final in 1977, er hmq's 25th jubilee.
come on andy do your best. scots whae!

I would like to see andy murray win. hope not. If any history is being made today i hope it's Rog's 7th wimbledon win. he may be a brit and a a final (hooray) but Murray has been known for his anti-english comments (boo, hiss) so i do hope the swiss guy beats the bean pole scotsman

I hope Murray wins myself, but I consider myself British - English, Welsh and Irish heritage & married to a Jock - can't not really!

I got my wish and anyone but Murray to win wimbledon. Teach him for his 2006 world cup comments I am not one of those glory hunters who feel murray is british when he wins but scottish when he loses. I'd rather see an englishman win the ALL ENGLAND tennis championship than a scot obviously but that won't be happening in my lifetime

I think the nearest Englishman to come anywhere near winning Wimbledon will be Cliff Richard who will probably be about 103 at the time .
