... for them refusing to release Hereford's on loan goalkeeper David Cornell for their FA Cup fixture next Saturday, apparently the Welsh U-21's squad will be going walking next Saturday in preparation for their game in Armenia the following Tuesday evening, so I presume Bradshaw will be missing our cup tie at Newport for exactly the same reason, which IMO stinks! I wouldnt expect the FAW to release Bradshaw for the Newport game as it poses the threat of one of their own member clubs to be knocked out of the FA Cup of course www.herefordunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10835~2507631,00.html

Can understand the FAW's thinking. They'll want their whole squad to be there.

Can understand the FAW's thinking. They'll want their whole squad to be there. Sorry Ned but this is Welsh bias coming from you here, common sense should prevail and anyone who is in the Welsh U-21 squad who has a game with their club on Saturday afternoon should be allowed to play and then link up with the U-21 squad on Saturday evening/Sunday morning, if they are training/walking in South Wales (probably the Brecon Beacons) on Saturday then Bradshaw wont even have far to go after the Newport game, I presume they wont fly out to Armenia until Sunday or Monday? If the Welsh U-21's had a game on the Saturday I could probably understand, but they dont

the whole international saga is unfair on league 1 and 2 sides
you need 3 players to get a game called off
in recent games we've have morgan and gornell injured or banned imagine had we lost bradshaw and collins too
not sure if we could call a game off in that instance but we could be starting without a forward in the squad

So Ned what really would be best for Hereford, FAW and supporters of the Welsh national side? A) The lad going for a bit of walking with his team mates in the Welsh hills or perhaps B) Cornell continuing his football development and education by playing in his 1st FA Cup tie against higher league opposition? The Yeovil game would keep him match sharp and perfectly prepared for Tuesday's very tough tie.
As GP says Brian Flynn should really know better. Very important that the FA develops a strong relationship with their member clubs, not needlessly pee them off with nonsensical red tape.

Has anyone at the relevant FAs ever actually thought of asking the players in these crazy situations just what their preferred choice is?

Playing at home too, Hereford. So hardly a burden for him to join up with the Welsh after Saturdays game. Strange for me that Flynn is holding out on this considering his own managerial career was mostly spent in the lower divisions. You would think he’d have a bit of sympathy. Peters is spot on here, common sense should prevail. Silly of the Welsh to behave in this manner. Agree with the point above about internationals and 3rd and 4th division sides too. It seems totally unfair that whilst clubs in the top two divisions don’t need to contend with this, the likes of Town and Hereford do. If just one player is called up then the club (any club) should have the option to postpone the game. To set the level at 3 players is ludicrous…

To be quite blunt, no-one at the FA cares about clubs at our level. It's hard for the players to refuse, because if they did, they might get frozen out. There are lots of Irish and Welsh lads playing down the leagues at u21s.
As for Flynn, does anyone remember Wrexham giving us permission to approach him when we had a vacancy for manager? We hadn't even asked!

Good on GP for speaking out. It's just a pity that the FAW & Flynn cannot be a bit more flexible in this case. Yes this is an important game for the Welsh U 21s but it leaves Hereford with a big problem. What's not been mentioned is that Cornell is not the first choice keeper for the u21s, he's only been on the bench for the last few games. Surely then the FAW can appreciate Hereford's position?

For all the attention that Hereford and Cornell are getting on this subject, not many people have mentioned Tom Bradshaw.
I presume we are without him on Saturday for the same reason??
Ludicrous decision from the FAW and Flynn.

For all the attention that Hereford and Cornell are getting on this subject, not many people have mentioned Tom Bradshaw. Quite right, but at least we have 2 other strikers, the Bulls don't have a fit keeper at all. Not only that, but at least Tom is playing, according to this, Cornell isn't even first or second choice. www.soccerway.com/teams/wales/wales-under-21/

Sorry for being blunt, but, A) One teams Hereford, B) The other teams welsh. My thoughts, **** em both. Can't be two-faced. Whats all this loves**te for a team most of us despise and would love see relegated, and a team who would kick us in the bollox at the first opportunity, and are Welsh.
