I am concerned by the allegations which are being made in regards to alleged racism amongst the town support. if you have physical evidence or wish to make a formal statement and you can identify the persons responsible then please send me a pm and i will be happy to discuss this with you before the next fixture at the football club as the club will take the necessary action.
Many thanks for your help with this matter

Who are you? do you represent the Club? why would anyone make a statement to you when it's the job of the Police to take these statements?
Nobody should identify to you alleged racists. for all anyone knows, you could be a victim of racism, and if these people are identified, then you could hand out your own justice. Either that, or you could be a BNP or KKK member looking for recruits.
There are better ways to deal with these types of issues than on an internet message board. That is how the club should deal with it.

Best place to report any incidents is the Kick it Out number - 0800 169 9414 or fill out an incident report on the Kick It Out website.
The incident is then logged and reported to the clubs involved and the police

If you have a complaint, call Kick it out, as pointed out above, or the club, not here.

I think you may be acting way over the top, is it because you and your wife fiona is the only green ogres on the planet?

It does happen, regrettably, we'd be naive to believe otherwise.

I am a senior member of staff at the football club and i am responsible for matters such as crowd issues and complaints against supporters so the invite is still there if people wish to discuss privately then they can contact me through the club.
I have recently taken on the same role as Laptop was doing and have been at the club now for some 4 years and I am concerned if this is an issue amongst our support particularly if this is away from home

I have never heard anything and im at the back of block 18.
Some guy did call Rene Howe a fat tw*t, which seemed justified considering the circumstances.
Easy to mis-hear with plenty of crowd noise going on but i've not heard any racist stuff since the Gay Meadow years.

Have heard it myself and dealt with it myself at away games.
I sit in block 11 at home where thankfully we only have non racist idiots.

I'm sorry to say I've heard racist comments home and away and at both our old and new grounds. I'm not saying the problem is rife but that's not the point and my hearing is fine! What has annoyed me in the past is it has been in front of stewards who ignored it. These comments are much less common than they were but the club/stewards have ignored or conveniently 'misheard' this stuff for years.

its a disgrace and there's no place for it in football

I'd say I've heard racist shouts (often accompanied by laughter) at a majority of the away games I've been to as a Shrewsbury fan over the last 15 years. I was pleasantly surprised not to hear any on Saturday (though apparently others did)

Didn't hear anything racist on Saturday.
Does this mean we can report people for singing 'We hate Wales'?

I saw him a couple of weeks ago grab a lad who was about 18 and he brushed passed him going down the steps as the young lad was in a bit of a hurry to get the bus. This bloke is as much of a clown and a racist as his brother and I have no time for the bloke. If i saw him in the street in stress i wouldnt waste my breath on him. i've made numerous comments to the stewards who seem to be un interested and instead tell kids to get their feet of the top of the chairs

I wish to report an incident that involved one of the Ex posters of this board. It was while we were playing Hereford their centre forward had just rattled our crossbar and was gazing towards the south stand in disbelief, when quick as a flash the Ghost whipped out a extra large Snickers bar brandishing it towards Delroy Facey shouting at the top of his voice "come on fat boy you know you want some".

The spazzy "Mallet gang" in block 9 come out with the odd line, especially the really immature man who shouts gibberish for 90 minutes, and has a face that looks like it's been hit with a shovel.

Thanks 'Shrek'. Interestingly the bunch of idiots who spoilt the otherwise jovial 'craic' (Irish word for 'banter') at the Crawley game called the Crawley security guy 'Shrek'. Any connection to you?
The racist comment I heard ("Black c***") was from another part of the crowd (behind the goal).
Last time I heard a similar comment was from a Town fan at Aldershot some 5 or 6 years ago. Infrequent I am pleased to say.

When someone calls someone a c*** generally is it perceived that there is no need for an adjective relating to the colour of that persons skin? For the record JG is black, I most certainly do not think he is a c***.

For the record JG is black, I most certainly do not think he is a c***. Bit of a semantic argument that one. Take away the "c***" and put in something much milder like, say, "fool" or "idiot". Then call someone a "black fool" or "black idiot". Is that racist? I suspect the recipient would think so - so the use of the word "black" in a pejorative sense by a white person is likely to be considered racist. You can't make a comparison with "white" because this country has a white majority and you can't really persecute a majority. In some circumstances, a white person might be in a minority and could be subject to abuse based on their colour - but a white player on an English football pitch is very far from those circumstances. Besides which, in a predominantly white society, a white person wouldn't single out another white person based on the colour of their skin. That wouldn't make sense. A black person could be singled out in that way although, since most teams now have a lot of non-white players, it's a pretty stupid comment to make (apart from any racist aspect). The point is not just about racial difference; race is a means by which a minority is picked on. Having said that I'm surprised at the suggestion that there's overt racism amongst Town's support. An occasional (but longstanding) Town watcher did say to me after the Arsenal game (following some things she witnessed there) that she'd always thought there was a racist element but it's not something I'd noticed. But then I try to think the best of people (until they prove otherwise) and didn't think anyone would be that stupid in the 21st century. If we have abusive racist fans, they should be banned on the grounds of being irredeemably stupid, never mind the offence they cause.

Think your right that most of the racism heard at Town games is of the dim witted, attention seeking sort, rather than deep seated racial hatred found in other areas.
Guess a lot stems from Shropshire not being particularly diverse, so a lot of people who have lived here all their lives probably haven't experienced meeting many people of a different colour or religion. Saw a bit of that at Arsenal - some people on the coach I went on were amazed to see a mosque and east European shops in North London, as you don't get many in Shropshire
Not to say expressing these attitudes should be ignored, just that bans are only part of the issue, widening people's experiences is also important

If we have abusive racist fans, they should be banned on the grounds of being irredeemably stupid, never mind the offence they cause. on that logic would it be as bad as calling someone a ginger c***?? it is a grey area. if a group of none-white people called me a white idiot etc i would be more insulted by the idiot comment than the white bit due to me being white. if someone gets upset by someone stating the colour of there skin then they must think that its a bad thing that they are that colour due to getting insulted. I am white and never been racially abused so i can never fully understand what it feels like, but to me white, black or purple coloured skin does not matter so dont understand why it would offend someone if they belive the same.
