anyone know what the club's rules are about drinking before a game? I would imagine if you have a Tuesday evening game you shouldn't be on the pop on the Saturday? Don't know if Villa have a game tomorrow? I would guess most clubs players are allowed a drink or two following a saturday game even if they are playing in midweek.

Everybody is getting tied up in myths etc here...
The fact is: If there is any truth at all in the allegations surrounding this player, then the club, as an employer, have the right to suspend Mr Collins (the employee) on full pay, pending an enquiry. It is the job of the club to determine the extent of the suspension, and this has to be communicated to the player, who is entitled to have a representative from his union, or any other person with him.
This will probably be the line taken by the club, if they approach it any other way (except for taking no action) they are in breach of employment law.
Unless, of course, it is suspected that gross misconduct is a likely outcome, then the employee can be dismissed immediately, with an enquiry later.
Employment law is a minefield, but to discipline someone, you have to know it pretty much inside out.

I read on twitter Thursday or Friday that Collins asked Ian Sharps how far away Leeds (think it was Leeds) was from Rotherham. Sharps responded with "about an hour, game Tuesday". Collins said he was just visiting relatives after the game. Clearly he was doing just that..

As Collins was not made available for tonight I suppose he is effectively suspended anyway.

Hoover, now not wanting to p**s on a bonfire, but surly if all stations are publishing that he was arrested, and it transpired he was not, then that would be liableous, as this has been rumbling for days, and they are still reporting he was arrested and subsequently bailed, then that part must be true. I know if the reports were about me, and untrue, then I would have set the record straight by now!!
