Blimey isn't this confusing one minute we've sold out then the next theres still tickets left. Unfortunatley I'm at college so can't access the online ticket system atm because the jobsworth IT staff has blocked it. So relying on the club website and all of you.
Has said SOLD OUT for the last half hour
Fantastic news, can't wait for tomorrow and all that it may bring!!!

All tickets for tomorrows' vital League 2 match against Oxford United have now all been sold. We do however have singles available in some parts of the Roland Wycherley Stand. Both the West Stand and the Salop Leisure Stand are sold out Does that not contradict itself a little, they have either all been sold or not!! how can thyey all be sold if there are still singles left??

does that mean some have been returned? i.e. they were bought in advance and then someone has realised they can't go......

Great job Nice if we can get them singles sold too. Hope we can all make some noise tomorrow. Looks to be a nice day too, temperature set to reach 31.1C or 88F. Link------> UK set to bake If all goes well if could be a very memorable day.

Why is it "vital" ?
We can't go any lower, OK there is a possibility of being higher and an auto spot.
Words like that build it into a pressure match, with fans putting more pressure on the team.
Personally I'd prefer the team to go out and enjoy it, where as under pressure they could lose it.
One of my big hopes for tomorrow is not, if were are at 0-0 at half time and Wycombe losing 0-1 and the team some how fining out. The 2nd half would be a nightmare.

Given the Gay Meadow's declining capacity in its later years, won't this be potentially our biggest crowd for well over a decade and possibly 2?
The Everton and Liverpool cup games were sell-outs (I think), but wasn't the capacity down below 9,000 by then?
When was the last time we got 9,000+ for a home game?

The game against Arsenal was 1991 i think. 12 thousand odd that evening. Of course that was a Cup game and I started following the Town in 1987 and the league gates were pretty poor then.
For a league game i am guessing you might have to go back to the early to mid eighties to see a better home crowd.

Quick look at "Breathe on 'em" suggests it will be the highest league attendance since boxing day 1985 9,500 v Stoke. Can't see any later than that.

Some talk of there being 14,000 in the old ground for league games during Turners last stint in charge on Wikipedia...
Frankley this question for the Breath on em Salop book, if we dont have an answer by later on will have a look tonight
One thing for sure the following records will be consigned to history
Record for a Shrewsbury Town match is 8,429 vs Bury, League 2 Play off semi final 1st leg, 7 May 2009.
Record attedance at the ground is 8,753 England v Spain (Women's International) European Championship Qualifier, November 25, 2007.

What the stats will show is that you have been in League 2 a long time, unlike poor little backwater Hereford who were promoted to league 1..... 2 seasons ago, your such a big club with so little recent success, and with all your big crowds and lots of moeny you still cant get promoted unlike little old small crowds Hereford. Ha!

We also got 8,500 against stoke on new year's day 1992 but I'm guessing will exceed that tomorrow.

Ha! But the point is the crowds are the important factor long term... Yes you got up, thanks to our now managers genious, working on a small budget and small crowds... but as your a small club with little fan base you could not continue as a league 1 club, it could not be consitantly maintained, its called punching above your weight... your av attendance that season was atbout 3500 ish I think. Come on! We have struggled to get out of this division 2 times failed at the last, and have another chance on Saturday, but the fact we pull in 7k+ most weeks, and can now sell out games like this (A game where effectively we dont have a say in anything that happens if its goes Wycombes way) indicates that should we get up, the infrastructure is there to maitain a League 1 club. It will happen, proabley soon under Turner, but I know which club has got its off field matter arranged to servive at League 1 level on a consitant basis!
