On Saturday at about 2.45, the atmosphere in the ground was dead, no music was being played and you could of heard a pin drop. We were then subjected to 3 of the most over played tunes in pop history, Robbie Williams Angels, followed by..Robbie Williams Let me Entertain you, followed by Survivor Eye of the Tiger. I mean come on this is pathetic. As well as turning into Vale Park we are hardly likely to create an atrmosphere with those tunes! Last year they had a really inspiring piece of music (possible from Lord of the Rings does anyone know??) which was superb, that seems to have gone. Bring it back!!

I think it was the theme to the boxing show 'the contender' that they played. I quite liked it. They did use Pirates of the Caribean for a while too.
I personally would like to hear the Gladiator theme before games

I Liked the music from "The Contender" Before kick off. Why are we playing tunes from Robbie Williams?, As the above poster "This Is NOT Vale Park".

For the Torquay play-off game Pilch started a thread about what music would be suitable and low and behold many of the suggestions made it into the pre-match playlist. So, my message is ditch the current s**t and listen to the fans again

The music is terrible, hence I usually wear my headphones as can't stomach the music.
Music however at Burton was fresh and more my thing.

As feedo mentioned We came up with some decent tunes on that thread I remember someone who used to post on here that got to pick and play the tracks Now and then he'd take requests I'm sure it was Leeds shrew or similar but it may have changed since the old ground

its a difficult one really isnt it. Whilst we all have our own preferences (CUIYC and Jerusalem for me) we need to remember there are 5000 + Town fans there every week many of whom are going to think that selection "X" is s**t and spoils the pre match build up.
you aint gonna please all the people...............
So why bother trying ?
Why not add as part of the prize for winning the golden gamble the chance to choose the 3 songs before CUIYC for the following game?

Why not add as part of the prize for winning the golden gamble the chance to choose the 3 songs before CUIYC for the following game? Like that suggestion although instead of linking it to the Golden Gamble perhaps allow people to submit three songs of their choice to be played in the run up and one lucky person gets selected each week. CUIYC to remain as the run out song.

Some good tunes last week but could hardly hear them on the PA Vale Park is only down the road if you want to hear more of R.Williams! What's your obsession with Robbie Williams? Got something to hide? There were some good tunes played including Oasis/ Killers etc. but unfortunately the PA wasn't loud enough.

Matchday music has been poor since we moved into the ground.
Get the old favourites back like Tom Hark! Volume would help imrpove the atmosphere too!

To be fair, not got a problem with "Eye Of The Tiger", but can see the issue with playing "Angels". However, what's wrong with "Let Me Entertain You"? It gets the fans going as it's an upbeat song.
I think some people are nit-picking here.
Granted I haven't heard it yet this season, but the mix last season was good and don't really see the issue. Maybe the players prefer this music? If that's the case, that's more important than some fan who thinks his preferences come first!

Yeah, Robbie Williams would get me pumped for a big game! Shove some metal on, that would be better.

Some good tunes last week but could hardly hear them on the PA Oasis, Killers, Reverend & The Makers too - it could almost have been Spotland. Just missing a bit of Doves, White Stripes, Editors and we'd have been landed. PA is s**te though agreed

I sit in Block 10 half way up and i'm personally glad the PA system seems to of been put quieter this season.

Chelsea Dagger always sounds good at football matches and I think it works well when a goals scored, again opinions. I think DJ Whits' song choices were good on Saturday to be fair, he knows his indie quite well, a few upbeat dancy tunes wouldn't go amiss though Ian

And could someone please shut Ryan Jarvis up , " ladies and gentleman could you please take to your seats , the players are about to enter the field of play" ( or words to that effect ) WTF is all that about ?
It's a football match not some shakespeare play at the Globe theatre !

Whilst marking the pitch out Saturday lunch time for the Crewe game the PA system was playing Led Zeppelin Kashmir. It sounded awesome, more 70s rock please

I love music and love football but when the two meet it doesn't quite seem to work. I'd ban music at football matches and also the wearing of football shirts at any gig or festival
I rather dislike having a PA announcer try to tell me to get excited whist blasting cheesy music or brit pop at me. Think pre match music only really works if it's a regular song played as the sides walk out such as Your Never Walk Alone at Liverpool, Liquidator at WBA/Wolves or z cars at Everton. As we don't have a club tune a silent PA a crowd noise will do for me

How about including one classical piece in the final 3 each game, bring a bit of variety.
