Torquay did exactly what they needed to. Buckle got it just right again. We didn't show any creativity or quality though, and made it easy for them.

fair play to torquay - so far and away the better team. Played with skill, tempo, first to every loose ball, defended in numbers, broke incisively. On the other hand, we were total pants over both legs. Hey ho - roll on crawley next year And to be fair they passed the ball on the ground. Whereas we seem to think aiming passes at two or three feet in the air is the right way to play. Thought we were better than that.

Too many players in our team take the easy option of high balls down the middle from deep. So easy for defenders to deal with. Thought GT had got us playing the ball on the deck? Once a hoofer, always a hoofer I guess.

How many managers have now failed to find a decent centre midfield pairing...
The reason for the constant chipped balls to Harrold is nothing goes successfully through midfield...
Oh for a Zico and paul evans in the midfield...

same old town no quality in final third - seen lots of games this season & frankly 4th place flattered us. Too many ordinary players in our squad - didn't go tonight as hate play offs & knew we wouldn't be capable of breaking torquay down - i'd love to have been proved wrong but i could have written the match report before we played - as i'm sure could many others - GT has got a LOT of work do in pre season

Just got in. Could not listen tonight. Some idiot blind fU**wit lineman cost us promotion v Wycombe. When will the old codgers at the FA/FIFA discover goal line technology?

Just back
For me we looked toothless up front
Having Harold up front is fine, but he needs someone up front with him to benefit from his knock downs and hold up play if that's our plan. There were a lot of times when he didn't win it or lost it, but basically for large periods of the match there was no one on our team near him. It just makes it a completely worthless idea. Ainsworth isn't a striker - he kept dropping off or going on a wing and no-one swapped positions.
Even with effectively 3 wingers on the pitch we didn't put in a proper decent cross.
Disappointing.
Man of the match Sharps

Thought the defence, with the exception of Grandison (who, without wanting to be unkind looked, a liability from the off) were strong and the midfield was an improvement on the Plainmoor debacle, but where it really counted - in the final third - we again struggled to open Torquay up or cause them any real problems.
How many times did we really test their keeper?
Beaven's first real save came almost at the end of nearly 180 minutes of football, which for a club like ours which has so many advantages over Torquay is a real embarrassment.
Ainsworth was again a massive disappointment and thought the front pairing was again a mistake - Bradshaw was surely the obvious choice. Ainsworth is too often anonymous, tonight being no real exception.
Can't really stomach all this talk of 'next season' at the moment. Somehow this feels worse than the Wembley defeats and I wonder if the club and its supporters might suffer a real hangover from this latest kick in the nuts.
The prospect of 'going again' provides absolutely no allure whatsoever for me at this present moment.

just home. Never really got going today, no chances of any note.
Whole team generally played well as individuals but just lack of quality in final third. Nice creative midfielder for next season, and keep the collins, bradshaw partnership i think. But most important thing is keep all the players we have, and get Sadler signed up

keep all the players we've got some of them aren't good enough hence over 2 play off games we hardly had a shot. We need a strong, mobile, athletic and quick front man who will score - we don't possess one - other teams do. Bradshaw will come through with the right partner but Collins is cr*p
