261 seats left in the West stand and 493 left in the South stand. Block 2 about 106 and Block 1 is about 400. Only about 1200 left then, that is great. Could very well be the first sellout

Could very well be a sell out. Should be rocking on Saturday. Until Town go 1.0 down and we hear Wycombe are 3.0 up at half time in which case the ground will be empty by 4.30!

Something has certainly changed over the last few years, things have changed from when I first started supporting Town (that were back in ’86). There is definitely more interest, pride but moreso a new found confidence about Town supporters. I guess most folk would look to the new stadium as the catalyst but I actually think it was the relegation and subsequent win in the play off final at Stoke which seems to have been the changing point. For me, it’s since that playoff win that the support went up another notch and things have been for the better since. Way back when we wouldn’t be looking to take the numbers away from home that we do now. We wouldn’t be taking thousands of fans away yet today it’s a given that we’ll see decent numbers travelling. Maybe the relegation brought folk around to just how important the club was to them and joined the support to get us back to the League. Since then they have stuck with it. Bigger gates, bigger away support has the knock on effect that more and more people will want to become a part of it. This interest and support for the Town really is great to see. How things have changed and for the better!! Up the Town!! Not entirely sure I've got my message across with the above post but its difficult to put your finger on it. Just to say that things are different these days but in a good way...

Although many of us would prefer the old Meadow, I suspect only a few have gone away. The number of extra fans going regularly since the new ground must be 1000+ - it must be down to location as well as facilities. Wembley trips might also have got some new paying fans, especially for the big games like Saturday.

I'm going to the game with the viewpoint no pressure on us, if we go up that day then in my eyes its a bonus.

I think the return of GT is a big factor for this season too. The support especially away from home is more positive and it was great to see 1500 of us at Cheltenham.
Whatever happens on Saturday it is nice for the players to have a full house for the last game of the season – and the chance for everyone to support them all the way and thank them for their efforts over the last 9 months. Salop!

Also how well the support has held up since we moved to the new ground - we have been in the top 4 best supported clubs in league 2 for the last 4 seasons - excellent given that in old money we are in the 4th (basement) division, makes you wonder what we can achieve if we can become a successful league 1 club.

I'd definitely agree that relegation to the conference was the catalyst that sterted the growth in support. After many years of playing the same teams at the same grounds, all of a sudden we were playing teams that we had never been to - I remember NY day 2004 when we were at Northwich Victoria (although was played at Witton Albions ground) - think we took something like 2,600 fans, which was incredible, also unusual trips like in the FA Trophy to Altrincham. Also helped that Telford, Chester & Hereford were in the conf and generated a good bit of rivalry & local interest.
However if it hadn't been for the new ground I think this enthusiasm would have soon fizzled out in the next season of doing not much in L2. In a way the timing was perfect with the move to the new ground soon after gaining promotion, not to mention the housing market being at or near it's peak - bet the building co. regret paying £10/12m for that land now! Then subsequently the two Wembley runs have kept interest (although tempered with horrendous disappointment!). If it has to be done via the playoffs, at least let it be third time lucky.
Back on topic, great to see such good sales, a packed ground will look amazing and should fire up the lads really well. As an aside it will be nice to have the attendance record at GM belong to STFC! Hopefully Oxford don't spoil the day - if Wycombe win so be it, nothing we can do about that.

The first turning point was 11 years ago and the noise that the Independent Supporters Club made in that season's relegation fight. People recalled that the town had a football club. Exeter 2000 was the club's Stalingrad in the battle for hearts and minds of the people of Shropshire.

We'll get a new record league attendance, maybe a new record Shrewsbury attendance, but probably not a new record Greenhous Meadow attendance

For me the conference season was pivotal not because we enjoyed it but because many of us suddenly realised what we had to lose.
Undoubtedly the new stadium has attracted a large swathe of new support: I know that through local business people who started watching town when they got sovereign club tickets and now go to 15-20 away games a season too!
I would also suggest that Martin James' community work has made a significant difference to the underlying image of the club locally.

Hopefully letting a load of kids in free for a few games this season will help for the future as well. My first Town game was via tickets for my junior school as my Dad wasn't really a football fan. I was hooked and because he had to take me my Dad got in to it and now, 25 years on, we have both been ST holders for some time. So getting the kids in really does work and will hopefully see our fan base grow even further.

I think since we have moved to a lovely stadium & have achieved a great family award winning service for last 2 years straight plus the GT factor & the fact that it is a nail biting finale. Owwww excitement & if we get promotion all the newbies may stay on & we may start a chanting choir now around the ground.

115 seatsleft in west stand so should sell-out today I'm seated in Block 7 with the kids on Saturday, so a full West Stand would look awesome - think I may have to take the camera along to get a snap of a full GM! Definately looking like we are going to sell out our home fans allocation - and the online ticket server was down this morning for half an hour due to demand, so looks as if demand for tickets is high and hopefully we will be in for a good atmosphere come Saturday afternoon!
