yea, we'd be above em now in 3rd. if im looking for positives then if i was a wycombe fan or player after todays results, i'd be thinking the hard bit was done, going to Bury and winning 3-1 after getting a point at torquay so going to Southend should be the easiest trip of the three and that might just be their undoing. All we can do is beat Oxford and hope that the football God's desert Wycombe for once, but hey, if its not to be weve given it one hell of a go this yr, im proud of the boys.

Regardless of whether we should have won at places like Morcambe, Torquay or done better against the top teams, the goal that was given against Wycombe looks like costing us 3rd spot. Whether its an excuse or not, IT HAS cost us, face up to it! If Wycombe had of lost that game and we had won, we would have been promoted today! Other results we have let go aren't important, this goal has cost us massively. And not forgetting the clanger by Neal at Wycombe!

Over 45 games, regardless of our faults, nothing has separated us and Wycombe. Apart from the actions of an inpartial and unbiased offical. And that's what rankles with me, you can go on about players missing chances and scoring own goals buwhen something out of our control not only costs us but benefits our main challengers it is hard to take. Nowt we can do about it now though.

No we wouldn't but we would be clear by 2 points in 3rd. If it does not happen for us next week, I am confident we have enough quality to see it through in the playoffs, nervy though it will be.
Not been mentioned but if we are in the playoffs surely GT will not allow four of our players to do this charity stint up a hill?

What is there to complain about apart from the huge media coverage which will result from it. This hardly existed when "little" Shrewsbury were involved. MOTD should have used the Shrewsbury example with the words "If you thought the Chelsea decision was bad, look at this"

we scream blue murder when its town but if the goal effects a certain side....... maybe because we support Shrewsbury Town and couldn't care less about Chelsea?

Not really, that one was close-ish, I can understand mistakes like that without goal line technology, one's such as against the Germans and the Wycombe one, they're not even close, you should be seeing those with the naked eye.

I do hope so and I'm sorry if some folks are fed up with us talking about the goal that wasn't but it really does upset me that something for once not of our own fault has had such an effect on our season so I won't get over it for a long time.

bolton once scored a goal against everton that wasn't given but it was over the line the result was bolton got relegated from the premier league and everton stayed up, had the goal counted bolton wouls have stayed up and everton gone down i remember watching it live on sky news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4148525.stm

Yes It has certainly happened before and will again but when it happens to my Shrewsbury at such a crucial time against such a crucial team and when the linesman in no way could have seen what happened, no players or fans celebrated either, it just makes me give up!

It's a cliche, but swings and roundabouts lads. Can you identify certain occasions this season where you've had the rub of the green, or has the tide been inexorably against you lads? Sounds like you've had a harsh time of it.

Trying to take off my blue and amber glasses, I don't think we've had a ref that's given us any thing this season.

I know we should move on and we have to but it is difficult all things considered. I mean anyone but Wycombe and it wasn't even close. That's the thing that gets to you, it wasn't even close to being a goal. Still in my mind when I think the season through and will be for a fair while I reckon...

Makes me sick to think we will probably miss out because of that dodgy decision. We always seemed to get the rough end of these decisions and never the right end. Penalty that was given for Vale being another that springs to mind.
That goal that never was against Wycombe could alongside the corner that never was against Gillingham in the play off final two years ago.

Blatent handball led up to the penalty and even then the foul was outside the box. At Accrington we fouled their player in the box and it was a penalty. Sharps should have been sent off at home to Wycombe for pushing the player in the face. Cheltenham should have had a penalty on Saturday. There's been more but can't think off the top. There was one game Davies should have been sent off to for reacting to a bad challenge.
