Apologies if there's a thread on this already but I see the shortlisted names for the legends votes are up on the official website
Have to say there's some surprising choices (Steve Perks, Kelvin Langmead, Luke Rodgers) and omissions (Alan Durban, Paul Maguire)
Here's the list: Arthur Rowley, Joe Wallace, Mickey Brown, Peter Dolby, Dave Pountney, Chic Bates, Ken Mulhearn, Colin Griffin, Bobby Brown, Steve Cross, Dean Spink, George Walters, George Boardman, George Andrews, John 'Jake' King, Tommy Lynch, Bernard McNally, Jimmy McLaughlin, Carl Griffiths, Paul Edwards, Joe Maloney, Willie O'Donnell, Ray Russell, Graham Turner, Colin Robinson, Steve Perks, Mark Taylor, Tony Gregory, Alf Wood, Steve Biggins, Kelvin Langmead, Ray Weigh, Ian Atkins, Geoff Fellows, Tommy Seymour, Trevor Meredith, Joe Wheatley, Luke Rodgers, Arnold Jackson, Malcolm Starkey, Jackie Butler, Billy Scarratt, Mike Kearney, Ted Hemsley, Alty Davies, JCH Bowdler, Alf Ellis, Happy Sheldon, Chuckie Edwards, Danny Williams, Chris Smith, Fred Brown, Dr Bryson, Tim Yates, Roland Wycherley

What about Peter broadbent, Gerry daley, jim holton, nigel Pearson just to name four I'm guessing that Broadbent, Holton and Daley didn't make it on the basis of not playing that many games for us but Pearson's omission seems odd. If it was based on the memories and stories left behind then Victor K should surely make the list!

Roland Wycherley?
Now that's egotism taken to a whole new level. Isn't the stand named after him enough?

Slightly surprised that neither Fred Davies or Jimmy Quinn are on the list - not too many managers have led us to a promotion as both of these have, and in Davies case also a trip to wembley
Suppose that's the nature if such polls that everyone has different views on what's a legend - a bit like those bank holiday polls you get for the top 100 singles of all time

I can see a 'question to the club' coming and could almost guess the corporate reply from messers Bebbington and James Surely with so many possibilities the only way is to either have a pre-vote nominations round by fans or an open vote without having to be on the shortlist then if there's enough support for a forgotten legend he would make it

Dean Spink? ****ed off up the road to Wrexham.
Langmead? Average centre back.
To be honest Scott Howie did more in 5 minutes than Langmead did.

To be honest Scott Howie did more in 5 minutes than Langmead did. Don't be daft, SSS. Langmead was a good servant who played a big role in keeping us up and the progress we made over the next couple of seasons. But he was no legend, admittedly. Dean Spink is a well loved player among the town faithful, but I'd have to question the 'legend' status. I still think Tony Kelly is probably the best player I've seen turn out for Salop and I'm surprised John McGinlay's not in there, too.

Tinson, just for the class of his Dad, now he was the Legend! The way the article's written gives me that "Hall of Fame" feeling in that others will get voted into it season by season. Sometime in the future the likes of Pilch could get onto the short list?!

Are you questioning why he's not on the list or why he is? He is on the list under the pseudonym Mark Taylor. I guess he's there as one of our best players of the 90's, only missing 1 game of our last Championship winning season, being our first black skipper and scoring our first ever goal at Wembley.

Looking at a few surprise names on the list it raises the question
Where is Jamie Tolley? He was a legend surely? :/

agree with pilch strange that oggy and wardle didnt get in certainly two of our bettter keepers with ken.........but maybe that will be corrected in another year ?...as for picking three from the list that will be difficult, at the mo im edging towards 1) colin griffin - 2) graham turner- 3)alf wood-
many will have differing opinions as i could easily have added chic bates and arthur rowley...
