Last seen officiating here at the Staines game. Not our favourite referee but to be fair I do recall him having an excellent performance in a game against Hereford. But when he is bad he is horrid! www.roarofthecrowd.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3405Like Steve Bratt he was demoted from the League and spent last year in the Blue Square Premier. But now he's back!

Bearing in mind our experiences with refeees in the last 2 home games I would have thought this thread was worthy of comment!

Bury at home I think, Sam Aiston sent off at the meadow in a 2-2 draw?

I remember the name from back around 04-05, so I think you might be right Ant. Looking at the pics, I wonder if he had his head shaved back then, I seem to remember joking about why Pierre Luigi Collina was reffing at Town. Looks like he'll fit right in with the more right-leaning contingent of the fanbase.

Was that in the Conference when Sammy and another winger went in 50/50 and were both sent off?

according to the football League Referees site Drysdale's last League game before being demoted to the Blue Square Premier was on 8th November 2008. So he didn't even last out the season!
2009/2010 his only game was the Staines F.a. Cup game.
2010/2011 he was allocated no games at all in August, September, December and March!

Talking of refs what happened to the monty panesar lookalike ref? I cant remember seeing him this season at the gm or on any highlights of any games on the football league show either.

Just a couple of recent examples.
Jan. 19th 2011 'David James wins appeal against sending off by Drysdale.' Bristol City v Middlesborough.
Jan. 25th 'Drysdale had a howler of a night and needs to take a long hard look at his performance. The Football League are scraping the bottom of the barrel with this guy.' Gillingham v Chesterfield.
You have been warned!

Be prepared for another thread on the lines of the Wycombe match. I cannot recall him having a good game when officiating us

I cant understand this fixation with refs, it makes no difference who the ref is, they are all human and as such are not infallible just like players, commentators and fans many of whom have no idea about the laws of the game.
Rather than harping on about the performance of refs in the pass worry about how the town play. If we play well enough we will win no matter who the ref is.

Martin, look at the records it was a 1 -1 draw nobody knows what might have happened had the goal not been given. Remember Strikers miss easy chances, defenders make mistake. At the end of the day refs decisions even themselves out.

Ed's quite right, there's no point fretting over who the ref is. Let's wait till he's cost us before we start slagging him off

Easy game to referee.
Bottled the penalty decision.
But generally speaking, I've little complaint with him..this time!

Bottled the penalty decision. Is this the incident with Collins and Veiga? If so, not a penalty, Veiga got both hands on the ball before making contact with Collins, not a penalty. Hardly an appeal from the players either.
