it's league two football mate , WE need height and power to play along side Disley etc .... open your eyes . And use your brain, give me a small player that can tackle and use the ball rather than someone who is 6ft plus with a great ability to give the ball away , can't tackle (even if he is big enough to knock people over) and is generally not up to standard. I realise it's league 2 but rather hoped we might be looking to get to league 1 and that we might want players that can move up with us whereas you seem content with someone who is just league 2 standard. I have a brain thank you very much could you tell me which games this season when the central midfield have come out on top, winning tackle after tackle and driving forward or even won most of the headers in the middle of the park ? i've been to every home game and in to double figures for away games, maybe Crewe away when we rolled our sleeves up and battled. Not knocking GT he's a hero to me, started watching the town when he first arrived, but i do feel since Gary Peters days we've had no power in the middle of the park.

Hereford got promoted under GT with some 'inexperienced' loan players in their squad, a certain Gary Hooper who was one of them has done alright for himself since?
Experience never means too much to me, MacAllister has hardly made much of an impression for a 'experienced' midfielder?

In the rest of the football world its seems a bit mental..
Spurs seem to have gone nuts this AM and bid for 4 strikers all 25mill+ and got none of them... now there in for Forlan??
Liverpool - Looks certain Torres is off for around 50mil making him the 6th most expensive player of all time... but more strange Liverpool have had a 35mil bid accepted for Carroll making him the 8th most expensive player of all time, and smashing LFC's record transfer in by 12 million... all for a player with SIX months pre experience and who currently injured!!
MENTAL!

It's about having the right balance and making sure that these youngsters coming in do have some experienced old heads alongside them...Disley, Sharps, Harrold, Wright etc have enough experience between them, they need to show their worth as well over the coming months

You see the science going mad with a bid like that for Caroll (21?) and also what was a big fee for Suarez (age 23). The future model for Liverpool is built around buying young players, but surely not at any price. Perhaps they forgot the last bit. Could be an exciting few hours ahead mind.
Any news on Nile Ranger?

They reckon Liverpool could annonce later today, Ashley Young for £15M, Carrol for £35M, Adam £12M and Suarez £28m
If that came off would a team have spent that much money in ONE day before (£90M)... crazy times..
That said non off that might come off for a variety of reasons...

It would seem that the super blues raffle is far more important to the club than the comings and goings on deadline day.................so nice that they keep the fans updated on our own web page, so glad I dont subscribe to shrews player

I see Rob Purdie has had his contract cancelled at Oldham? Has big links to Turner, playing at Hereford under him for five or so years. An option maybe, but only 5' 8, so I'm sure he wouldn't please some of our supporters who are after a 'physical presence' in the middle?

We are in desperate in need of a central midfielder who can pass the ball forwards with accuracy, who can beat a man from time to time too.

'One of several others.' Hopefully someone with experience! Downing obviously the other.
Also good news about extending Grandison's loan.

As a Spurs fan, I saw this Spanish speculation, but with the exception of Forlan I don't think any of the others are true, they just don't fit in with Spurs's buying strategy and are unrealistic

I think the Andy Carroll move at £35million is just plain bonkers. He's done ok this season but he's not the finished article!
And apart from anything else he's injured and has already missed the last 5 games and apparently not near fitness yet!
But now listening to Talksport - rumours are that Chelsea have agreed to pay £48m for Torres, but possibly this is going to include Anelka. So Liverpool are likely to have Suarez, Carroll and Anelka??? And this for a club that are used to playing 1 up front?!
And more speculation suggesting that now Charlie Adam could be set for a move to........Man U! Apparently they are now the favourites on the betting websites and forums!

Interesting to see how he gets on in the streets of Liverpool on a Saturday night. Maybe Joey Barton will introduce him to some of his mates.

Just listened to Turner, two close to being complete (one being Davies), another two in talks and 1/2 on the way out.

Dalglish must be crazy paying that amount for Carroll. This guy is unproven, injured and a bit of a nutter off the field. Is he worth more than David Villa?

Football has gone mad you got Andy Carroll who is a good player but aint the article yet going to Liverpool for 35 million. Yet 6-8 months ago a world class player with a proven record in la Liga International and Champion league goes for 34 Million. Its madness.
Holloway also is a clever man. You know Adams leaves for 10 Million Holloway gets 5% of any transfer fee of a player he brought to Blackpool

If Man United sign him (would be a good signing Fergie said he's worth £10mill on his corners alone) Blackpool would get £8.5m Carroll move is madness I agree. Great player and good prospect but £35m? Kennys lost the plot.

Done deals are Suarez has signed for Liverpool, El hadj Diouf has signed for Rangers and Ireland has signed for Newcastle.
Torres and Carroll believed to be having medicals at Chelsea and Liverpool respectively.
