His views on the inability to discipline some players are interesting. To my knowledge these were views he was expressing privately over twelve months ago.

I imagine that he will one day give his version of events last season, and it will surely make interesting reading.

Yep PPP and everybody else it would make very interesting reading. I know i speak from a kinda privilaged position and obviously a very biased one ;D, but everything Kev says in that article makes sense and is very true.

Ratcliffe has become increasingly uncomfortable about the moral decline within professional football.
The focus of his deepest disapproval are the relationships between club owners, managers and players.
Ratcliffe believes players at all levels of a domestic game are over-paid and argues that many give poor value for money to their clubs.
"For me, a big problem is the attitude of modern players. The amount of respect they show their clubs is absolutely shocking."
I reckon about 100% of that is aimed at STFC last year, the only questions being who, when, why and what was done to deal with it, and the worst thing is, at least 90% of us didn't see it coming

I didn't realise he was younger than Quinn - he could have played last season in central defence.

On the evidence of how slow he was when he played for us in his mid 30s back in 94/95, I'd be grateful if I were you that he hung his boots up long before he arrived at GM

Ask any Chester fan about Rattys golden handshake from his contract. Without doubt that 250k VERY dubious payout put Chester into the hands of the American nutter and then out of the league. The boss of Rattcliffe at the time - Mark Gutterman - the swine is now owner or Wrexham.

But he didn't receive it all that year did he?
Or am I in danger of spoiling a good story?

He got it eventaully, the secret contract was one of the bigest crimes of lower league football ever. And thats not a exageration. He was well liked prior to that did a lot for the club, player ,mananger but for him to talk of morals in football. Sham on you Ratclife. The Deva will never forgive you.

Did he pay your water bill out of his own pocket? He did but it was later revealed that he knew he was getting the money back the next day anyway.
