1-0 town at half time. Harrold tap in right on the stroke of half time. Not bad so far but not many chances. Town look ok going forward, like the way wright and leslie have been switching wings throughout, seems to be causing their defence a few problems. Sure to be a few changes for the second half, can't wait to see mcallister get a game!

1-1....tranmere left back scored a bullet free kick into the top corner, shouldn't have been a free kick though! Mcallister just come on though, and jake Simpson is on for tranmere!

Much better than tranmere today. Sharps impressed me, must of had the ball more than any other and used it well imo. On a downer, think Wright needs to do more. Roll on Bradford.

another encouraging performance
could have been 2 or 3 up in first 10 minutes - Robbo needs to take these chances. Game settled down after that, and Harrold obviously pleased to get off the mark at home, tapping in after keeper parried a shot
great free kick by them, but agreed it was not a foul in first place
Easy goal for benji, left completely unmarked
Would have liked to see more of Mcallister, not sure he will start next week now

Very good performance from the town today, and some nice attractive football being played. VDB's goal was very well worked and nothing Smith could do for the freekick. Leslie and Wright switching wings worked well, and Harrold was a good target man. Absolute howler by Robinson though in the first half, but i'd rather he gets his poor shooting out the way now, and not when the important stuff begins.

Yes Robinson missed a great chance but reading the game and cutting out the ball from the back pass was good.

A similiar performance to Tuesday. Solid at the back again. Sharps reminds me of Tinson, very commanding. Not much get's past him. Leslie frustrates me, can't beat his man, poor corners today too.
Pleased with the way the new players are fitting in. Raven & Sadler in particular impressed me today. Sadler made on good run down the wing & tried to get the ball into the box. We haven't seen that since Tierney left IMO.
We still need more firepower upfront IMO. Harrold doesn't give me the impression that he'll score a large number of goals this season & Robinson can't finish.

I thought Benji took his goal very well He is a better finisher than Robinson though his overall play is not as impressive

Good peformance today imo. Defense was solid today. We were more direct with our passing. Could have won by more but we need to be better with our attacking play and finishibg touch imo. Leslie and Wright did well down the wings. Roll on Bradford City, next saturday, thats where the serious stuff begins.

Good game, played some nice football at times, little dissapointed we didn't create more though. C Neal - Did ok but made an error with a corner and his distribution was poor. Raven - Didn't really notice him, but looked ok Sadler - Looked excellent throughout. Great going forward, with good pace. Sharps - Good no nonsense defender O'Donnell - Did ok, got turned to easily at times, but got back and put in some good tackles. Leslie - Poor as usual Wright - Looked very dangerous at times, him and Ainsworth could cause big problems this season. Disley - Put himself about, but wasn't over ally impressed. McIntyre - Same old Macca, a lot of effort but little reward. Harrold - Was very impressed, good first touch and nice flicks. Everything Hibbert wished he was. Robinson - A lot of good running but clearly low on confidence. Subs - Smith - Made one good save and kicking was good. My choice for number 1. McAllister - Didn't get on the ball to much, but looked lively. BVDB - Looked very energetic and impressive. Bradshaw - Looked excellent on the ball and was always offering Holden - Had nothing to do. Overall pleased and excited for next week

Overall pleased and excited for next week Exactly how I saw it too - biggest dilemma for GT this coming week will be who to start as number 1 keeper and based on todays showings I'd plum for Ben Smith - Neals flap at a corner was awful, his kicking lacked direction and I didn't think he was anywhere near vocal enough (not that I could hear Smith either being as he was at the other end). Impressed with Sadler and Wright, Harrold will be a handful and possesses that touch and hold up play that Hibbert sadly lacked and with Bradshaw feeding off him we could well have a very dangerous pairing, especially with the support and creativity offered by the likes of Sadler, Wright and Ainsworth.

Agree with most of the above apart from Robinson who has difficulty half the time connecting with the ball. You only have to watch the warm up shooting practice to see that he is way below the standard of the others.
Also McIntyre has been certainly the most impressive midfielder in both games and that is also the opinion of people around me. He produced the outstanding pass of the day today which would have put Disley clean through if he was not so lacking in pace. Hardly gave the ball away in both matches and generally was progressive with his passes.

Macca was o.k. but not overly impressed with him. Some of his passing is poor, and his first touch is not too good, especially when going forward. Brilliant ball from him though, for Disley, but as was said, his lack of pace meant he did not manage to get on the ball. Good to see SCS back, class act. Roll on Saturday.
