I am still struggling to convince myself that we will finish higher than 10th, I just can't see us scoring enough goals. Yes Bournemouth did it with 59 last season but generally you need 70+ to get into the playoffs. Last season we scored 55 is the strike force more potent, personally I need convincing.

With the new signings, and adjustments as the season progresses, i am hoping for a top three place. We may not be a free scoring side, but you never know. Last season we only looked at Hibbert to score our goals, and most of us realised he was never going to be your 20+ goals a season man. With Bradshaw and a rejuvenated Robinson, plus help from midfield we could surprise a few on the goals for column. What pleases me is the strength of our defence. I hope the figures in our goals against column are far better than last season, and that is the one factor which may bring us the promotion we want.

I think we'll score more than Bournemouth did but who needs to score 70+ goals when we have a defence like ours. I think you should wait until the supposed £200k striker is signed. Out of interest, Ed, how many teams in league 2 can you see scoring 70+ goals this season? name them and tell us why?

Genuinely think we are top 3 contenders with 1 or 2 signings still to come.
Have huge amount of faith in GT and believe he already has us on an upward curve from where Simmo left us, GT himself seems actually excited by the challenge ahead and did anyone else notice the mention of set pieces" and "keeping them under wraps for the season "... Cant wait! All the things that irked me over the last 2 years seem to have been addressed,
Player development - Jacko We now have a manager with many contacts within the game and a vision and presence that encourages players to want to play for him and the club. A gameplan where a passing game and getting it wide to your skill players is encouraged. Defending as a team is preached . With the exception of the much discussed loggerheads - Clippy argument we will have some identity back , we will be a hard team to beat, we wont roll over for the likes of Staines/ Blyth and we may cause a shock or 2 against bigger teams. Those worried about lack of goals, Dont!. We will concede less this year and scoring just to win games will not be an issue.
If it is to be playoffs then so be it but fingers crossed for the Millenium stadium in Cardiff because its a fantastic stadium with a fantastic matchday experience for all supporters. Yes not the best for easy access but if if you plan it right for me it puts any ground in the uk well in the shade inc Wembley/ Old Trafford in terms of all the things you would look for that make the day great. A win is a given!

But what happens if we don't make the playoffs?

But what happens if we don't make the playoffs? Then we will have gone up automatically but we will be one of the 7 best teams in the division in my honest opinion.

Really difficult to say
Havent seen any of the pre-season games but I think we currently have a solid if not spectacular squad which is likely to make us challenging for the play-offs. If the rumours about Ainsworth and some expensive striker come true then it may mean we could push on for automatic
I know Ed has said he thinks goals may be an issue which i do share the concern with our current strike force, however I think midfield will be the key area. Ive got a feeling that this new lad Mcallister may be a key signing for us judging by the Wednesday fans comments. We have missed that midfield player who dominates games and hopefully he will be the one
Its also difficult to say because theres no real stand out teams this season. Plenty of teams who you might expect to challenge. I like the fact that no one seems to be talking about us challenging compared to the hype of the last few years.
