Very good signing! Have you really actually signed him? If so he will be brilliant in league2. As a young land from our acadamy he didnt really get that much of a chance at Wednesday. But dont read much into that because as a young lad (ok signed from barrow) neither did Grant Holt. Macca is a pocket rocket very small but plays with his heart on his sleeve, never gives up and will cover every blade of midfield grass. He wont be afraid to get stuck in and will get forward as much as possible also. Sad to see him go as he wears his heart on his sleeve and we need that at Hillsborough. Good luck Macca

The thing I noticed yesterday, was that with Mark Wright and Jake Robinson looking pretty good (Leslie just flitted in and out of the game), there was less pressureon the midfield two to actually take it upon themselves to change the game. Disley and Macca were able to do the jobs they're good at, keeping the ball, retaining possesion, shifting it quickly to our more adventorous players. And it seemed to work.
Last season people pinpointed the sedate centre mid partnership of Dunfield and Macca, but really we were manly suffering from lack of creativity in the wide areas and up front. If you have flair and creativity in these players then there is less pressure on the central midfielders to make things happen
Realistically, how many central midfielders in an orthodox 4-4-2 do hit double figure goal now? Those few that do, are probably plying their trades in leagues above ours

Bolton saying "ahh we have a load of midfield players we dont fancy ronaldo on a free were would we play him?"

With the current midfield we'd be lucky to see 20.

I'm saying that while a goalscoring central midfielder is great, it is not essential if the flair and creativity comes from elsewhere

You are saying sacrifice taking Macca on a free contract because you alraedy have numbers in that area of your sqaud? Where else does this creativity come from? I never saw it each time i watched Shrewsbury last season

Shrewsowl you are talking about the new signing Sean McAllister, Feedo is talking about our existing player Kevin McIntyre

Yeah Shrewswowl I think we've got our wires crossed. This guy sounds like he's a lot better than what we've got, so of course I'll be welcoming him in with open arms and hoping he does well. I was just talking tactics, last season we were rubbish, and we need some extra creativity from somewhere, and this guy looks like he's going to improve the team

my thinking of glory this season is getting bigger and bigger and i am thinking Turner might actually do it so far with or without Shaun MacDonald if the rumour is true. With the talent left over from Simmo's Reign and the added talent attracted by the combo of Turner and the club itself!!!!! well it adds to not only a hype but a belief we can do it and maybe even think realistically of winning the league this season. I'm looking forward to having up to half the away games under my belt this season and can't wait to see loads of home and away victories
