If it was free entry for a pre season game how many people who dont normally go to the game would go, a fair few i would guess, and they would also encourage others to go. I think it would be a good idea every pre season to try and get the stadium full its a really good way to sell the club. Nice idea but no chance you'd fill the stadium, even if free, for a pre season on a Tuesday night vs. Coventry. For proof see Accy Stanley the season before last - gave tickets for free vs. Torquay United for a league game on a Saturday and didn't sell out.

I will be challenging the football club on this and expect to be able to purchase tickets for the friendlies at £5 a pop adults and £3 for children. The e-mails I received from the football club (one for the original offer plus a reminder) read as follows: [glow=red,2,300]Exclusive
Season ticket holders for Season 10/11 will have an exclusive Discount if tickets are bought before the end of June 2010, you can watch both games for as little as £6 for Seniors, Juniors and disabled and £10 for adults [/glow]Now, the way I read that is that if you purchase your season ticket before the end of June (I purchased mine and the childrens in April) you get the match tickets for £5 per adult and £3 per child. As I see it, take it to trading standards and they haven't a leg to stand on. Call me petty if you like, but I have been intending to take the kids to both games. The outlay as their advert words it is £11 per game for the 3 of us so £22 outlay in 5 days for friendlies. Now, according to the e-mail I received yesterday, it is going to cost me £10 and each child £5, so that is £20 per game or £40 for the two friendlies. Almost double. Like I say, I will challenge them on this and they have the choice of the pleasure of £22 of my money or none at all on the principle of it. Plus the bad feeling this will leave. Not to mention the friends of mine who will also probably decide against attendance based on the misinformation. STFC really should take more care of the way they word communications. it is all in the s. it says if tickets, plural. to me that means both the season ticket and the match ticket.

£10 to get into a meaningless friendly that will contain mulitple substitutions and trialists or £10 to go and watch a european game that features an underdog like TNS against a euorpean name like Anderlecht...no comparison. See you at The Racecourse,
