Looking forward to a TWOTS regarding a goalscorer Jamo (the only one I know whose name is an anagram of our kit manufacturer)

Excellent signig. Hereford fans say that they'd rather have him back at ES than Robinson and Ainsworth. Have we broke our transfer record on him? Peterborough wanted £200k for him.

Anyone know any good chants for him? Yes the usual booing and jeering from our more knowledgeable fans as soon as he does something wrong

6ft 2 inches and less than 11 1/2 stone? He needs a bag of chips.

Undoubtedly a useful player but I will repeat a question I have been asking for the last 12 months where are the goals and the assists going to come from. Undoubtedly Turner is building a solid defensive team. Whereas the defense can stop a team losing games it rarely wins games.

Have some patients Ed[/quote] Is he a doctor? I agree though, I'm sure creativity will be added and I'd rather GT establishes a real spine to the team first. There's more to come from VDB and if Robinson gets himself settled then I can see him thriving too. Disley has scored and created at every club he's been at excepting a horrible injury hit season last term and Bradley and Taylor are likely to make attacking cameos during the season. I agree more attacking potency is needed but I also think we can make a lot more of the creative players who are already at the club.

Disley record is basically 4 to 5 goals and 4 to 5 assists per season while at Bristol hardly a replacement for a Davies or Asa Hall. Not sure who Bradley is didn't he sign for Rotherham.

My point about Disley was that he's performed consistently at this level and we haven't seen the best of him yet. Your comparison with Davies was the trap which Simpson fell into, Disley isn't the best out wide. Asa Hall played 13 games for us 2 years ago, I'm not sure there's a gap to be filled there... Oh and I meant Bradshaw but you probably knew that. Personally I'll be very pleased if Diagouraga arrives and don't see 'well he's not a striker is he?' as a very informed critique of Turner's transfer policy when we're still in early July.

Personally I am not convinced we have the players already at the club to be nutured either as a playmaker or as a box to box midfielder. Again personally if large amounts of money were available for signings I would have preferred that money was used to bring in a midfield general rather than to bolster the defensive set up. Maybe my views on football are dated but I grew up in the era of Shankly, Busby, Stein when the attitude was if you score 3 we'll score 4. Today it seems the attitude at many clubs is we'll stop you scoring and hope to score on the break. I know which I'd rather.

Ok, see where you're coming from now, if we're going to spend a six figure sum you'd rather it was on an attacking player? Fair enough, but I hope Diagouraga will be the platform that enables others to play so hopefully he can indirectly produce the more attacking style you (and most of us) would like to see. I have to admit to have never seen the fella play so googled him and this quote from a recent Brentford vs Orient match is what I'm taking about: " diagouraga dominated the early midfield battle and most of Brentford's attacking moves in the first quarter started with the big midfield man winning the ball in key areas". Fingers crossed eh? Agree with your comments on negative tactics which seems to be driven by the ever increasing fear of defeat. Fans also need to remember that in the context of a long season of Div 4 football a thrilling 3-2 defeat can be enjoyable (if disappointing) and is not the end of the world.
