Yes.
Did not do anything good. Honestly not 1 good thing the entire match. Thought he was pretty poor against the USA to.
Big surprise considering how good he has been for Man utd this past season. How can a player go from being so great to being so poor is beyond me.

Yes, although several others pushed him for the honour. Lampard almost as bad.

Rooney was awful, poor touch , no pace and looked totally disinterested

No pace, no chasing back, very, very strange...

That ****ing Heskey was. What a pillock pathetic excuse of a footballer.
I'm the equivalent of what Peter Broadbent thinks of Elder of what I think of Heskey.

I really don't know why Rooney is so hyped up as a player. In comparison with players like Messi and Ronaldo his record in big games for united and England is very poor.
He's got 25 goals for England but the majority of these have come v the footballing giants that are Macedonia, Kazakstan, Belarus, Estonia and Andora. But a decent centre back (Pete Wilding) against him who tracks him and doesn't give him space and there's not enough in his game to justify the "world Class" tag.

They were all very poor.
But the standard of performance by Rooney in both the USA and this game was totally unacceptable.

It was pretty difficult to say who was the worse player last night. Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard looked shell shocked last night, they simply didn't know what to do. Something is seriously wrong at the moment, I wonder if the players are just terrified of Capello and scared sh**less to try and change things on the pitch when it is clearly needed? We have some top class players, they don't just turn clueless virtually overnight. I understand Capello is on 6 million a year. I suggest he starts earning it.

Drop Rooney and Lampard, bring in Joe Cole and Crouch and partner him with Defoe and get a balance, and pace

He was s**te yes and so were many others. His outburst was pathetic, they are overpaid poor role models and totally out of touch with the thousands of supporters who spent a fortune going out there to support them. Rooney should be dropped.

Yes, not one good touch throughout. Think Viera may have it right, though maybe too good of an excuse for Rooney after these awful displays, something's up injury wise.
Each and every week on match of the day, Rooney is seen everywhere, winning balls back he lost, covering in defence, midfield and attack. Plus being in positions to score and create - which last season he did alot of. I honestly think he shouldn't start against Slovenia.

shouldnt this thread be titled, do you hate man u ? No,the thing is Rooney is supposedly our talisman and he looked a pub player last night,of course we are going to slag him off.He will get more stick than everyone else as we know he is a better player than the rest of the team,he shows this week in week out for Man U but last night was probably the worst i have ever seen from him or any player of that talent.

how many balls flew over his head ?
he put one on a plate for gerrard to mess up
actually gerrard messed up 2 chances where it seemed easier to shoot i'm not sure what people expect when the defence resorted to hoof ball
heskey was imo the worst player on the pitch closely followed by carragher, he just stood and watched the forward trot into the box to challenge james who did well to punch the cross and then get stick off the pundits for it johnson then almost put the ball on a plate for the algerians
terry also gave james a hospital ball, lucky james was alert
it seems to me, terry has the attitude of, 'oh dear if i was captain we would be winning'
we could have messi & messi up front, but if you dont get them the ball, they aint going to pop it in the net
apart from james yesterday, there were 10 poor players on that pitch, not just one

James did very well in that tense moment where Terry passed it back to him.
Glen Johnson got turned far far too easy and didn't offer much going forward.
Carragher, showed he was slow and wasn't really any good.
Terry made shocking passes throughout the game and didn't defend very well.
Ashley Cole showed he was getting fed up and tried running forward.
Lennon as i said in the last game was extremely poor and last night showed that with all his pace and flair he couldn't get past Algeria.
Lampard ... Didn't see him until he missed that shot. Poor passing and movement.
Barry, by far the best player in England's team last night. Broke down parts of play and played good balls through.
Gerrard, woeful performance.
Hesky, played poor but everyone seems to forget he worked to redeem himself, often tracking way back into his own half to make a tackle when he lost the ball.
Rooney, absolutely shocking! Woeful performance. No pace, no touch, no pass. He was for me the worst player on the pitch last night. His comment at the end was completely out of order and has made me start to dislike him.
no passion or commitment last night.

YES. I don't know why, but virtually every ball bounced off him, his control was shocking. Some people have had a go at Heskey, but at least he tried, whereas Rooney looked entirely disinterested. Crouch and Defoe up front on Wednesday. Probably take the flag off the front on the house on Thursday Start looking forward to getting back to REAL football by the weekend

shouldnt this thread be titled, do you hate man u ? This has got nothing to do with Man U Pilch The man is a quality player however was quiet in the first game and abymsal last night. His first touch was poor and he looked like he didnt want to be there. He may be injured, we dont know, but if not then there are simply no excuses Yes other players (if not all) were poor however Rooney is the big talking point because he is such a quality player who has put in two embarrasing performances But to suggest people moaning about him is to do with Man U is laughable Will he be dropped, of course not. Everyone including the media will be slating him today but should he be dropped and we dont go through then everyone would have a field day for dropping him. The thing that surprised me the most about him is in the past when things arent going away you see him getting frustrated, moaning, shouting etc. Last night it wasnt there, it seemed so flat

Dont buy into that at all
Heskey has been slated throughout the world cup, Lennon/Wright=Phillips have had abuse. People have been moaning about Carragher being brought back into the team. You will see people have been saying Lampard should be dropped. And of course there's Robert Green
There's very few England players who are getting credit

The hopes of a nation were pinned on Rooney having a good tournament. The lad has not turned up yet. Not much has not gone right for him but you also have to look at other key players such as Gerrard and Lampard.
Forget the petty Man Utd/Liverpool guff that ruins this board. Amazing that Ed gets so much stick for also supporting Cardiff when the people who bleat on about it also support a other clubs.
Blingy change your avatar for goodness sake. Of course your upset after last night but being a supporter means you get behind your team. You cannot condem people for scapegoating Rooney when you are doing the same thing with his strike partner. If you do not understand what Heskey brings to the team and what his role is then it pretty much shows a lack of understanding of the game. Now is not the time to turn on England players especially if you are a true fan.
Come on chins up lads. England are still in it and it will get better. Some of us would have cut our flobby bits off to have played Algeria in SA last night.
