Obviously at the moment the music we play when we score at home is 'Chase The Sun' by Planet Funk, so what do you think of it? We've has almost a whole season with it so do you have any suggestions as to what we could change it to?
In would like to hear 'Fire' by Kasabian personally.

Nothing says 'plastic' like goal celebration music.
The sight of 1000s of grown men prancing around to Tom Hark at certain Premier League and Championship grounds is one of the most cringeworthy sights in world sport, let alone football.

The one good thing about the dodgy tannoy at the Prostar is we dont have to hear the goal music
Ive only heard it once when I was under the stand

Our goal music is like something a snake charmer would play. Perhaps that's why we don't score many, the players are trying to wriggle out of it.

The reason you haven't heard the goal music is cos we only play it when we score a goal

Fully agree, no song at all is highly preferable. But if you're going to do something wrong at least do it right. Not only is the song rubbish it's also completely wrong for the purpose they are using it for. Which pilchard chose that? Oh I know, lets's choose a tune to heighten the euphoria of a goal that is actually more likely to induce a catatonic state on the people who can actually hear it.

Yawn, not this again. Let's just put a decent team together that plays good football and we can stop debating goal music, the new stadium, perimeter fencing, club crest, club's communication etc...... All rather dull.

I personally like goal music as long as it is loud and demotivating to the opposition!
But at the Greenhous Meadow the public address system is so poor I can honestly say I have never been aware of it being played...we have not scored too many goals this last season so maybe I have not had as much opportunity to hear it!

Yes of course we can but at the moment there just seems a lot of petty negative stuff but I guess we do have a lack of talking points at the moment so once the new man is appointed things will become a bit more positive. Please bear in mind I posted early on today when I was a bit of a miserable git!

If the players need help with their confidence even after scoring a goal then I don't think they should be at the club!

I'm not a huge fan of goal music but if there has to be one then Planet Funk's 'Chase The Sun' is my preferred choice.
To be fair we can be a bunch of a miserable buggers at times, at Burton the whole ground seemed to dance and sing along to 'Tom Hark' and at Borussia Dortmund the whole fans stood in unison and starting humming and waving their flags to a instrumental version of 'Go West' for their goal celebrations which was an awesome sight, if done right I dont think its all that bad as we sometimes make it out to be......

Even if you don't like goal music, say which song would be better than the one we have now.

Goal music is so superficial and lacking any substance . It does nothing to add to the atmosphere merely making it plastic and artificial . It smacks of Americanism , which we all know is a substitute to supposed fun . The fact that they sre sooooooooooo simple and brainless . The Amercians have given us Obesity , the law suit , Stupidity , dumb americans and cr@p celebration music . Goal music .............Nothing revolts me more ,

Ok goal music might not work for everyone and dont think it has at Town but.go to.. Historic Lambeau field Green Bay Wisconsin for a packers game and see if you think that atmosphere is plastic when they play celebration music? Arrowhead stadium Kansas city when the Chiefs play there Game song and feel how artificial that feels? Or many a college football game where theres more passion and fervour in one game than you would see in a season at the Meadow. Poor post fella

That shows how simple Americans are. They need music to create an atmosphere and quite frankly I'm not surprised they need help with the dreadful boring sports on offer.

Poor post fella i dont agree it's fine in america, they like a bit of music to help the mood, but they also like a gun with their burger and also a second burger too.(yes , cheap shot but they have a pop at our lovely teeth(superficial if you ask me)) they do things differently to us and have different sports etc . just because it works in the states, doesnt mean it will work here, and the posts on this thread suggest why it may not work here. i have no desire to go to see the american football or the hockey or even baseball, i am sure they are very interesting games but football is my game and i have no interest in making my game similar to any other, there is nothing wrong with football as it is. it managed to be the worlds number 1 sport without goal music, so maybe its the american sports that are doing it wrong.

Not sure what it is you dont agree with? The atmosphere at some of the examples i give would match that of any sports stadium in the world, fact. I have to agree that Football goal music probably doesnt work particularly in this country and the sheer spontanious nature of a goal celebration shouldnt be interupted by music but i dont need to ignorantly call out other sports to back up this argument. Football is my sport and you are right doesnt need to be "americanised", Football does ok here and all over the world and "football Gridiron style" does more than ok over there, both should be left as they are.
