Unless a statement is released by Prostar Towers before Saturday's game, the match against Morecambe could be reminiscent of the Coliseum 2000 years ago if the Town go behind.
Instead of Nero we will have Roland sitting in the Royal Box ready to turn his thumb up or down with an angry crowd baying for blood.
No matter how much I feel that Simpson has been a very poor manager I do not believe he deserves to be humiliated in this way.
The lack of response from the Board over the last week has removed all credibility from Mr Simpson but he has remained dignified. It is now time for the Board and the LMA to ensure that he is allowed to remain dignified by making sure he is not at the Prostar on Saturday.

The reason the Board should make some announcement, now its been in the press, is that if heaven forbid the Town should lose on Saturday, what Simpson descibed as diabolical behaviour will be like a children's tea party compared to the reaction of the fans on Saturday.
No matter how much I feel that Simpson has failed the club in the last two years I do not believe that it is in the best interest of the club and Simpson for him to be subjected to abuse.
Personally I believe that he should negotiate a deal and resign.

I think Ed makes a valid point, however, that there is a very vocal section of fans, dare I say it, the majority, who want Simmo out. They will be baying for his resignation regardless the result this weekend. Should it be a bad result, things could get personal...its the nature of supporting this game, much as I dislike it. I don't think any of us really know whats going on behind the scenes, and I guess impatience and lack of communication is driving us all barmy. If Simmo thinks he should hang on as he has something to prove, well credit to him. However, if he thinks he needs to hang on to spite his doubters, thats a recipie for disaster. Only Simmo knows what is best for Simmo; not an enviable position to be in.

I'm not sure whether you were at Wembley or not but we didn't win, we lost. We didn't get promoted, thats why we are still playing in the 4th division. Just in case you hadn't noticed like...

Ed get a grip as you are talking even more s**t now trying to defend the s**t you posted earlier. Martin rather than resorting to insults why don't you argue your case for Simpson being a legend. I know you don't do answers but please try with these two. Were you actually at Wembley last May? If you were you'll remember we create hardly any chances in the whole 90 minutes. Remember in terms of points gained we finished 9th How would you rate the performances against Blythe and Staines? Simpson has in my opinion failed over the last two seasons because I believe that given the resources he has had any decent manager would have done better. Call this if you like but look at the table how many teams above us have the resources we have - 2 maybe.

Heavenly, you don't half talk some rubbish! So you're saying that when Simpson took over, you don't think our inability to make the playoffs in his 2nd season in charge would have been perceived to be a failure?? I find that extremely hard to believe.
The guy has failed big style, end of!

Simple really glyn winning home games and picking up points away just like we did last season and part of this season too. BUT.....it's a failure because we have NOT picked up enough points last season, and in in particularly THIS season. Minimum expectations this season was top 7. We haven't achieved the minimum expectation - so the guy should go.

Yep, making the play-offs were a failure for me, as they would have been this time around too. With the third highest playing budget in the division we should be pushing for automatic promotion, not the play-offs and certainly not struggling about mid table. Now that we have the structure in place to take this club forward my expectations have risen and rightly so. So if yours haven't, if you are so easily pleased then you need to start supporting Darlo or Grimsby...or maybe Barnet... And I most certainly hope that our chairman shares more my expectations than your own. I'm pretty sure he does...

Ed are you still denying we were poor last season? Martin in words of one syllable. In 2008/ 9 to end in 9th with the cash we had was not only poor but very poor. Just look at how we did away. Hope that is clear for you. Now please answer my questions: Were you actually at Wembley last May? How would you rate the performances against Blythe and Staines?

Thanks hevenly... its a wooly kind of answer, by proxy I guess almost every manager has sucess at times...
The point is your view of sucess is pretty different to a majorty of town fans, and hense why the manager will get the chop.
To be classed as sucessful sureley you have to achived something? And taking a club backwards cannot be decribed as that this season....
Lastly surely your judge sucess at the end of the season... the odd good run here and there happens to every club... problem was even when we were winning games, its was still pretty awful to watch at times this season...

Stuttie i think you are missing the point of all 92 league teams. When the seasons kicks off in august the first thing teams try to do it get enough points to avoid getting relegation.I think finishing in the botton 2 of league 2 is failiure

I would suspect you are the only Town fan happy if we finish the season in 22nd position.
