I'm disappointed I missed out on Sean Lock tickets, I need to check what's going on more often.

I was actually nipping in for Jason Manford tickets which is to be my first proper visit to the place. Quite an impressive facility, whatever your views regarding the external aesthetics.

Were off to see Sean Lock at Oakengates, and got Al Murrey Tickets in advance.
I said to my wife being in the friends of Thearter Seven was not really going to be worth it.... apparently I was wrong!
Thankfully far enough back from both that a potentially mocking is out of the question...

I was amazed at how decrepid Oakengates theatre is when I went to see Andy Parsons

And also John Cooper Clarke, the legendary Bard of Salford himself, is there on 17 June.
Not to be missed - saw him last year and he was just as funny and sharp as when he was gigging with punk bands in the late 70s.

Agreed Dave
Are you all aware that the Al Murrey gig is a warm up one for his main new tour (which starts a few weeks later).... So it should hopefully be plenty of new stuff which is great!

We'll have to arrange for B&Aers to meet in the bar beforehand, would be quality 2 Tickets booked to this one along with Jason manford and Reginald D Hunter. Have done all the comedy shows apart from jason manfords first gig just after the theatre opened. Not bothering with Katie Brands tour though..not my cup of tea. Did see TBH at one of them (Tim Vine..was it?), but didnt want to shout accross the theatre. Anyone attend the Severn Jesters standup shows once a month?, some good and not so good acts. Greg Davies headlined the first (went to school with him in Wem),Izzie Suttie headlined the last one (Dobbie in Peepshow).

Ah..could have been anyone of those then as I went to them too Yeh..especially enjoyed Dave Spikey...quality. Julian Clarey was better than I expected too, shocked a few people in the audiance though. Good to know i wasnt the only one who sacrificed the Town v Bury first leg playoff at the prostar for Dave Spikey

Good to know i wasnt the only one who sacrificed the Town v Bury first leg playoff at the prostar for Dave Spikey Yeah that was an absolute gutter. I had arranged a group to go so there was no backing out as I had sorted all the tickets etc. Having seen the highlights we got the thick end of the wedge. His stuff about the NHS was just brilliant.

Oh yes that was quality, especially liked his mickey taking of song lyrics too. Off to see Sean Lock this Saturday, managed to get the last two seats. Unfortunately it means the wife and I sitting separately. ;D

Izzie Suttie headlined the last one (Dobbie in Peepshow). Was she funny? Depends on what is your taste. Most (seemed like all) of her act was comedy songs, very much like victoria wood but alittle bit more rude. Wasnt that impressed to be honest.
