The City Vs Spurs tie is nothing but a run of the mill Premiership game and shouldn't be shown.
However a lower league vs Premier League tie is always a good pick in my eyes and it'll evidently be southend/ scarborough vs chelsea which is a good choice.

Well, as everyone knows (as you do from last year). The vast majority of cup upsets happen in non-televised games, played on the Saturday. With that in mind, we seem to have a better chance of success, unless the police decide to switch the time or day!

I would have said it will be switched had we been at home, but were away to Halifax so you'll be on saturday 12/1 o'clock KO. Had it been at The New Den I reckon you might win, at home your not as strong.

JP, another point is that we don't generate the same atmosphere at NBH as we do away, Saturday was magnificent, as every bugger sang, its not like that at home.

the fan club of steve nelson - we try our best but theres only ever 20 of us behind the goal who sing - the east terrace only mostly moan an the main stand are quiet for most the match if everyone started chanting when we did it would be a lot better

You guys do a great job, the trouble is that season ticket holders all sit in their usual seats and behave in their usual manner, regardless of league, trophy or cup game.
Away from home its different. Fans from the terraces and the stands we were all sat randomly throughout the stand on Saturday, therefore everyone gets caught up in the euphoria and starts singing. There were blokes in their 60's singing around me.
I don't know the answer to it, because the stand could generate a fair amount of noise, but there needs to be a catalyst for it.

Behave yourself lads, we realise your feel at home here, but its a Shrewsbury Town message board Up and down the land the majority of singing is done away from home.

Not great choices there.
Telford have beaten two teams at least two divisions above them and will have a good go against Millwall. They have a splendid chance too given that they are tight at the back.
Here's hoping Andy Shaw gets bored before he makes Telford United the no1 football club in Shropshire.

A Bold statement Sean!
I am not 100% convinced about Andy Shaw's intentions, but actions speak louder than words and he is currently backing the bucks to the hilt, so there can be no complaints from here.
I think that a finish outside the play-offs (which I think is most likely) would not have been enough to keep the chairman. However, I think the FA cup run will be enough to keep him more than happy and ready to back the club to the hilt next season.
Whether Telford win the race to the third division or beyond is an interesting question, which will be answered by a mixture of MJ's investment of the money entrusted to him and the Shrews ability to get the new ground I would think.

Andy Shaw - the saviour of TUFC! You say his 'actions speak louder than words' yet he hasnt been arsed to go to either of your matches against Brentford or Crewe - thats inaction IMO.

Works both ways, what if he just pulls the plug on Telford. There is no way that Telford are viable without a rich person covering their debt. Last season you were the size of Northwich Victoria for crying out loud, now you're repudedly paying one player more than the entire NVFC squad is on!!!
Going on past actions there is also a chance that he may wind down activerty at telford if he doesnt get his expected results as quickly as possible, he's done it before.
Also can anyone gurantee, hand on heart that should Shaw leave for whatever reason, that Telford would still own the freehold of the ground and hotel (happend to York a few years ago) or that telford wouldnt be recieving a bill in the post for £2million worth or so of loans to be repayed back to Shaw.
Most investment from directors in football clubs come in the form of loans repayable when the director wants out.

The Telford match was never going to be televised because in all honesty they are playing against a pretty ordinary division 1 team and the general public want to watch Premiership stars and be entertained. At least with it not being televised they can't use it as an excuse when they fail to sell the ground out. ;D

I think SWR's points all concur with what I said in my post, he just fleshed it out a bit.
There are no guarantees with any chairman that is bailing a team out, but what he is doing is speculating to make the future of the club in its current format more viable.
I very much doubt if the attendances would be as high as they were if it were not for the new off-the-field developments. Conversely, we could also say that if every ounce of income on players, we may have assembled a squad about three quarters as good as the present one in terms of quality. The current league position does not lie and this clearly points to the fact that this investment would not have paid back in terms of increasing attendances.
In short, TUFC are at the whim of Andy Shaw, but he is trying to improve that situation by the other activities and publicity and had it not been for him, or someone very much like him, I very much doubt we would be in the conference now and we maybe not in business in our current format at all.

I can not see Millwall losing no-one has thought about Millwall may play for a draw and i cant see Telford beating them away. .It feels kinda strange about some peoples unfairness of a giantkiller not being televised, result wise it did Town no favours. .and all the talk of the number one team in Shropshire?.media hype.Shrewsbury Town won the Shropshire Senior Cup for this season,a fact many forget ;D
