priory boys 1978-1983. not sure they were the happiest of times but some great football times, straight from school to meet my dad, then into the meadow to get prime positions for the promotion clincher against exeter. ps terry gennoe is now gk coach at celtic. I loved the Priory but that might explain why I left with bugger all qualifications. Did you really go to the Exeter game at 4 o'clock? I bet you know the attendance

Acton Scott (school no longer exists), followed by Ludlow Grammar School.............left in 1946.(not a misprint) I think Acton Scott is now a tearoom for the farm museum.

Well there's enough Old Priorians on here to form our own clique! (Perhaps we could revive the tradition of annoying the shrewsbury sixth form college boys )

Market Drayton County Grammar School as it was known then.
Drayton Shrews will know where it used to be- it was off Frogmore Road- the Primary School in Longslow Road overlooked the field.
It became the Grove School. The Grammar School building became the Lower Grove School, then it was demolished. There was talk of making it into a museum or something, but it got vandalised. (Just an excuse to build more houses on the land I suppose.)

very true Belvidere Boys 1976 Bunce the English teacher (when he wasn't down the bookies) brought his TV in (on several occasions) and we all watched the Derby for English I didnt go to Belvidere but my mate across the road did as his brother went there before they made Holy Coss a Meole School rather than Belvidere. Anyway my mate's older brother told him that he was just a big bulls**tter as Mr Bunce at Belvidere and we all picked up on this and my mate's been known as Buncey ever since Every time my mate would exaggerate we'd go "thats a Buncy bulls**t" ;D

There was a big fundraising scheme to try and raise the money to turn it into a cinema and museum, unfortunatly they werent awarded funding, the place empty got vandalised (not surprising really). And then eventually the local council had to accept that the building be knocked down (and thus clearing the way for a housing development) because the lower grove had become unsafe. Great shame . Cant remeber, but i supose they've built on the lovely green open space that used to make up the school fields???

Crowmoor from 62 - 65 Then Wakeman Grammar 65 to 70 Interesting to see Terry Gennoe mentioned as we had a trip to see him play at Wembley for England Schoolboys. God I'm feeling old! I'm now a Governor at the Grange after my 2 daughters went there. And for all you Grange old boys Mr Stokes hasn't changed Shrews54 , you must have been a year above me as I started at the Wakeman in 1966 . Whats your full name ? (PM me if its "secret" !)
