Belvidere Boys, Left in 1978.
Note the absence of the word school off the end of the name there, cos a school in those days it certainly was not. It was then just somewhere you attended cos that was the law. Just about the only thing you learnt was to keep your head down and avoid a kicking!

Wakeman Grammar year of 79/81
And Jamo's right - tremendous football history - acredited to ADJ - Alan D Jones, and Kenny Malcolm (then a T*lford U player - but we can forgive him that)
Anyone remember 'Dip-it' enthusiastic non-sports teacher, who, whenever anyone was near the goal would shout DIP-IT DIP-IT!!
- He took us as a team to Bridgnorth once, only to turn round at the other side of Springfied saying that he couldn't drive the mini-bus because driving it in a straight line meant turning the wheel frantically from left to right to stay on the road -
neadless to say Kenny Malcolm took us doing just that with his nose pressed against the windscreen muttering - nothing wrong with the ***ing minibus.
I think a new one appeared not long after.

Mr S&R was The Wakeman 76-81 in Quarry, along with Belle Vue Shrew, Riverside Dave, and Didcot Shrew. That's four message board members from the same class! (I think that's quite impressive as they still see each other at various games too!)
.....Followed by Shrewsbury Sixth Form College to 83.
He was also at St Giles before The Wakeman.
Myself.....
Loddon County Junior School, Earley, Reading. to 1975
Then Maiden Erlegh Comprehensive, Earley.

Thats worrying - I was at the Wakeman until 1978, JAMO will have been around most of that period too, as we had a good Education Welfare Officer

When I get in Auditors will rule the world and them namby pamby penal reform wallers can look out! Bloody hell in that case I may just vote As for schools - Mary Webb, class of 99, there were some brilliant teachers and there were some s**t ones, it wasn't the best and it wasn't the worst.

Yes, even worse we had to wear a cap until the 6th form at the Priory. You had to wear uniform at all times, including week-ends. If the snitches saw you in town without it you got detention. That school was indescribably sh!te and I still get angry about it 40 years after leaving. Glad it's not just who thinks that school was crap. They'd close it down now if a school was a bad as that. The bullying there (by teachers as well as kids) was shocking and I can remember having three good teachers in seven years.

Lord Silkin School in Telford, home of the famous steel band as once featured on Blue Peter Seriously though, its one of the worst performing comps in Telford I think, as reflected in my GCSE results Left in 1996.

Used to play football against Loddon. Used to play netball against St Peters! (and beat them!) Also swam against them in the schools county championships, and chucked a rounders ball at the county athletics. Can't remember if we played your lot at badminton or tennis though. Did you play in the Woodley Carnival tournaments? Would you have ended up at Bulmershe, Maiden Erlegh or Suttons if you had stayed there?
