Yes, it's amusing, but I suppose at the same time it's a sad day for Shropshire. Our county's third-best team (After Shrews and Shrews Women's ;D ) Has missed their moment of glory at home. Bad luck chaps, now 'ave a word and get that bloody pitch sorted!

Actually lads I think it reflects badly not only on Telford but us as well. Lets face it there is no way we could put on the England semi pro international if our pitch us under three foot of water too!
Bad day for Salop footie in general!

I have just returned from there and the main problem was the England game due to be played there. One official suggested the England tie was switched to the Gay Meadow to which another replied, "No chance, Shrewsbury's pitch is nearly as bad as this". Right off to wash my wet socks and dry out my sodden shoes ! In the good old days the tie would now be on Thursday but PC Plod needs 7 days notice.

Heard Mick Moans interviewed on Radio 4 this morning and he didn't sound very enthusiastic about the ground or his teams prospects. He was saying that everything had gone in Millwall's favour since tha match was first postponed! He's hardly a barrel of laughs at the best of times. He's like Ee-yore out of "Winnie the Pooh"- the extremely pessimistic Donkey!!!! Are his ears growing long, have you noticed? Oh, but be careful about laughing at them. Some say it creates bad Karma, that comes back on you. The Good Book talks about curses rebounding back on the one who sent them- and old wisdom says that what goes around comes around! We could do without curses, bad Karma- and whatever's likely to come around after we've laughed at Telford!! (Banter's one thing- rejoicing in others' misfortunes- No. Cut the Shadenfreude!!!

Whilst it is giving all Town fans a big laugh (especially after the jibes we had to endure from east shropshire with the floods of 2000), why exactly should Telford have to give up home advantage due to the weather causing a cup game to be postponed twice? When we used to get frozen pitches for a few weeks the game just kept being re-scheduled until it took place. I know Plod has put his big foot in to complicate things but are the FA acting above their station? Should Telford tell the to get @**<ed? Has this ever happened before? - Not to my knowledge.

I was at the ground at about 11:00 this morning, the car park was a river, never mind the pitch.
Absolutely the right thing to do was call the game off as soon as possible. Even if it was in good condition under the covers (which it evidently isn't), 30 minutes of the torrent of rain we were receiving at that time would have rendered the pitch unplayable.
The F.A have stated that there is no ruling on the game being played away from the NBH. However, it is possible that the club may suggest this to get the game on. I give this about as much hope as Blackwood of making it in the Premier League though. next date for your dieries.....next Wednesday!

'Whilst it is giving all Town fans a big laugh...'
Hang on our kid, I wouldn't say all Town fans...I find it difficult to understand why you boys are wetting yer pants each and every time Telford have a match postponed. I'll put it down to a Shropshire thing eh?
Hope they can get it sorted sooner rather than later meself. Is there a silver lining, will the game be shown on Sky next Wednesday? Have Sky any other games scheduled?

Can't the Bucks Head lawyers sue the man with the digger who caused the hole in the drain in the first place..? Shrewsbury Town would have probably staged the prestigious England v Italy match, but cause of our current stadium position, thus bad pitch - no chance. Do you want a laugh... some of the uneducated salop town folk always come up with the origional idea of Shropshire United.. umm yes.. lets merge both team and play at Atcham.. the place that probably floods most !!

I'm not 100% sure JP but I think it might be later in the month...we have Chelsea over here on the 24th I think...or sometime around then. Although I have to confess not too sure if thats the 1st or 2nd leg of the tie...
What is the situation with the National XI game now? I don't think the Bucks Head is going to be staging any game for the next couple of weeks by the look of it...will they cancel the game or move it to another ground? Anyone know what they plan to do?

Telford's building contractors went bust. They have no one to repair their damaged drains.
This is an important lesson for us.
There was a post yesterday when PPP was on about the price of the New Meadow. Things like this are done once in a generation. We need to get it right.
You get what you pay for.
