You bunch of pessimists - what do you think is going to happen - it might not be all ticket - town will fill there end and the rest of the fans will go in telfords - and nothing will happenin the ground cos most (i stress most) will wanna watch the game not get chucked out Its the idiots that were in the pubs DURING the game on sat that cause the probmles and chances are they will not go to the game Also there is no way this game will fill the ground up - the fact that its a tuesday night game (champs leage??) is gonna take a bit off the attendance and the fact that many will stay away if it is not all ticket (cost they fear trouble) will take more of the attendance and Wolves might be at home Dangerous words - but i bet theres no trouble (well not in the ground) during the game!!!

Sorry to cause controversy again about this topic, but i've been doing some fishing today and at the moment although there are discussions about this game, at the moment it is NOT going to be all ticket.

This is I think where you can tell the difference between a club with league experience and aspirations and albeit a club aspiring for league status, but with no league expereince and very little big match expereince.
It should deffinetly be an all ticket affair.
For instance I wouldnt travel if i didnt have a ticket, as most fans wouldnt. However there will be huge ques, irate people getting frustated, and most likely a lock out that Salop fans havent expereinced before (I mean greater than at Rushden and Chester).
People will travel to this game reguardless of the fact its on a Tuesday and champs league is on. At the moment this game is a once in a 50 odd year occurence and there is no guarantee it'll be taking place again next season.
Not to make the game all ticket, proves that the West Mercia police are not up to the job of policing and advising clubs on football matches, that TUFC are being rather naive and that STFC are being complacent on the whole issue.

This is I think where you can tell the difference between a club with league experience and aspirations and albeit a club aspiring for league status, but with no league expereince and very little big match expereince. just not true Rob It is West Mercia who fix the policy, as they have done at GM games this year, which is why neither of our home games with Telford have required tickets, and neither will theirs. I don't agree with the decision, but if you say it reflects badly on TUFC then it reflects badly on us too

And if you read what i wrote TBH you may well see that I am criticising all parties involved. From whats been said I am under the impression that West mercia advises the clubs on what action to take, in no uncertain terms does the club have to comply and for STFC not to at least try and make a stand makes them as accountable as the police. And TBH maybe the reason our games at Gay meadow were not amde all ticket was because there was little chance of TUFC selling out the away allocation or STFC fans selling out the home. The game at The Bucks Head is a completely different scenario, and as such should be treated in a different light. There is a lot more riding on this game than just a semi final appearence. We are yet to play them again in the League, and whilst we harp on about the good behaviour of STFC fans this season, it only takes a minnor disturbance next Tuesday for all our good work to be shattered. Its just not worth the risk to us the fans, the club or the police force and locals around the bucks head.

"all our hard work" Rob?
you have been one of the most vociferous critics of the fans charter
and as I said, you are criticising all the parties involved and I am telling you it is the police who make the decision
That is what the police told us at our meeting with them, that is what our club told us at the meeting with them.
West mercia have a policy whereby they believe it is safer to have these games without tickets. I fundamentally disagree with this, all your comments about the wrongs of this make complete sense and I totally agree with you.
Having said that TUFC has a tiny fraction of a say in this matter so I think criticism of them is unfair

"all our hard work" Rob? you have been one of the most vociferous critics of the fans charter Just because I criticise certain aspects of your fans charter doesnt mean that i dont recognise the general positive affect it is starting to have. Also when I say good work we have done, yes you have bagged lots of media coverage for yourself and your fans charter, but there are many of us who are not signed up yet undertake the ritual booing of racist chants and no surrender, go to away grounds and represent STFC with a smile and some friendly chitchat with stewards, opposition fans and the police. Despie the fact it is growing, the fans charter is still very much a minority group, by no means does it account for all shrewsbury fans, thus to suggest that just because someone isnt a member of your group, that they therefore arent promoting STFC in a good light is just out of order and quite frankly cliquey

I am really very glad you care so passionately about this issue and your practical actions at games is excellent and to be commended.
It is not my charter it is the Fans Charter of the Shrewsbury Town Supporters Umbrella Group
I have not generated good publicity for me and I resent that. Anything I have done and continue to do is for the benefit of the fans of Shrewsbury Town.
I have never suggested anyone who doesn't sign up to the fans charter doesn't care as much or anything like that, you have just made that up to suit your point. People are free to do what they want.
The Shrewsbury Town Supporters Umbrella Group now has over 600 Shrewsbury Town fans signed up for a code of practice, and most of the major fans groups have taken it on board, including A Large Scotch, Official Supporters Club, Independant Supporters Group, Junior Blues, Away Supporters Football Club, Independant Supporters Group and the very website we are discussing this on has given very important support. If that is a minority Rob then fair enough but you show me another system or group that is genuinely representative of over 15% of our home support.
My only issue Rob is your attitude, you have done nothing but argue and bicker over minor technicalities, discouraging people to join up in case it ruins our end of season celebrations and general just being a thorn in the side of anything I have attempted with your snide comments and self righteous attitude to life. It is not just to do with fans charter at all, at least you are consistently like that with everyone.
I have never or will never claim to be perfect, or the the fans charter is the best thing in the world, or that I have all the answers, because I don't.
But don't sit there behind a computer picking holes in what everyone else does because it really is discouraging to what we are trying to achieve.

Your right I did state that it would be hypocritical for me sign up as I disagreed with one of your major points and knew that i'd probably break it. For my honesty I have continually been slated.
I've also been slated for the backlash on confguide, that has comeabout from your "anti nonleague posts"
And as far as I was aware this quote
"all our hard work" Rob?
you have been one of the most vociferous critics of the fans charter"
Appeared to be hinting that because I was not signed up to the fans charter myself and anyone else not signed up were in some way hindering the way STFC were viewed.
I have not once discouraged anyone to join up, and once again if you took the time to read what i'd posted before getting on your high horse, you'd have read that I recognise the good work that the charter is attempting to do and the good publicity it brings.
As for sitting behinde a computer picking holes, well you want everyone or as many people toi sign up. i merely asked some questions about this fans charter, stated that i disagreed with certain aspects of it and why I dissagreed. it was constructive criticism. GET OVER IT.
TBH there is no need to be hypocritical you are just as self rightious as me and are often the first to chip in with snide remarks, you also launch into attack mode against annone and anything you see that you disagree with (I admit i probably do the same). This sort of outburst is not the first time you've thrown your toys out of the pram I doubt it will be the last, but maybe in the mean time you could grow up a little and get over yourself. Its only and idea

making the game all-ticket would stop last minute pay on the night supporters turning up, it's a way of maximising the attendance/revenue.

OK Rob, I agree to disagree and I will let the rest of the B&A community be the judge. "Your right I did state that it would be hypocritical for me sign up as I disagreed with one of your major points and knew that i'd probably break it. For my honesty I have continually been slated." Don't try and become the victim Rob, you upset far more people than you realise and I at least am telling you how I feel. "I've also been slated for the backlash on confguide, that has comeabout from your "anti nonleague posts"" pure unadulterated rubbish, but you are entitled to that opinion "And as far as I was aware this quote "all our hard work" Rob? you have been one of the most vociferous critics of the fans charter" Appeared to be hinting that because I was not signed up to the fans charter myself and anyone else not signed up were in some way hindering the way STFC were viewed." No Rob, you have made that claim against me since september and every time I have denied it. I have never said anyone who doesn't sign up cares any less and I never will. The only person who has ever vocalised that to me is you. "I have not once discouraged anyone to join up, and once again if you took the time to read what i'd posted before getting on your high horse, you'd have read that I recognise the good work that the charter is attempting to do and the good publicity it brings." I disagree with this because there are many hundreds of people who have not signed the charter for personal reasons, many have told me, you are the only one to argue dogmatically over a period of time "As for sitting behinde a computer picking holes, well you want everyone or as many people toi sign up. i merely asked some questions about this fans charter, stated that i disagreed with certain aspects of it and why I dissagreed. it was constructive criticism. GET OVER IT" I am not discussing just the fans charter here, I am talking about your attitude to life and the way you are perceived by other people "TBH there is no need to be hypocritical you are just as self rightious as me and are often the first to chip in with snide remarks, you also launch into attack mode against annone and anything you see that you disagree with (I admit i probably do the same). This sort of outburst is not the first time you've thrown your toys out of the pram I doubt it will be the last, but maybe in the mean time you could grow up a little and get over yourself. Its only and idea"" I am vocal in my criticism of things I believe to be wrong, vocal in my praise of things i believe to be right and vocal in my defence of criticisms I believe to be unfair. And I am often very cheeky to people and use laughing faces quite a lot If I have offended people then I am genuinely sorry, it was never my intention.

Hmm, i'm not sure what to make of this one. I can see the pros and cons of making it all ticket, and making it pay on the night. I fear another Chester, but I suppose it depends on the STFC allocation.
I am guessing we will take 2,500 or so to the game, but with Salop fans you never can be too sure. We took that many to Chester and Northwich, so it could be 3,000 +.
I think the police and TUFC are in a no win situation - if the game is made all ticket then how can they possibly know whether the people buying Telford tickets are indeed Telford or Town fans? The only thing an all ticket game will do is ensure we don't get a situation where the ground is full and there are still hundreds of fans left outside.

"I am vocal in my criticism of things I believe to be wrong, vocal in my praise of things i believe to be right and vocal in my defence of criticisms I believe to be unfair. And I am often very cheeky to people and use laughing faces quite a lot " from the sounds of it you are both as bad at each other, you've started out disagreeing on one subject and ended up insulting each other, TBH I fail to see what right you have to speak for 'others' and how they may percieve rob or any other fan, speak for yourself. "I am not discussing just the fans charter here, I am talking about your attitude to life and the way you are perceived by other people" I dont know what makes you think you have the right to comment on anybodys 'attitude to life' yes please feel free to debate about opinions, who your favourate player is, whether this goal was onside or that was a foul, but for goodness sake do you really need to make what was originally a thread about the ticket situation at the telford match into a forum for insults and being judgemental about other peoples attitudes and personalities? To be fair TBH you picked at robs post as much as he picks at anybody elses, you can hardly claim the moral high ground. At least you two might be able to resolve it over a pint in the easter hols, keep your squabbling to the personal messages, people are ignoring you on the board and for good reason. You're both sillyheads, (although I am obviously biased in a very specific direction in this case)

Whats to stop the hooligans that come from Wolverhampton and Telford getting into our end? nothing whats to stop the same hooligans buying tickets at each others ground ? nothing the only reason it should be all ticket is if they think it will be a sell out i can't see more than 6000 there and as long as they can accomodate up to 3000 shrews then there wont be any more of a problem that if it was all ticket also if it is all ticket you have the possibility of fans turning up without tickets and causing trouble i think the decision is right
