Agree or not - he never deserved to be on the loseing side and was emence today - i beilve he only gacve the ball away to a oposition player 2 times today which is amazing!!!! (where as cramb probabley gave it away 20+ times) He can take a ball at head, chest or foot hight and bring it down turn and (on todays evidence) take players on and beat them, he linked well with cramb and played in a number of other players into good posisions and also has a combination of Skill and stregnth that i love to see. Lastl he is the only player who will chase every last thing for every minute of the game and really go in on players to shake them up I know i have been baning on about him for a few months now - but for the first time today i only herd positives about him on the tearraces and feel that he is becomeing a popular player So - has anyone changes there opinian on Darbys use to the team, and was he man of the match

Would agree with you today gpricey , he did alot of running and worked hard, however as a front man his chances were limited , is that down to poor service or not creating chances for himself ?

Class act today.
He is starting to come good now and has got a few goals under his belt. First half he was the only player doing any tracking down and second half he played out of his skin, shame that there was no goal to top it off.
I think he isn't getting the balls that he thrives on, thats why he isnt scoring as many, how many crosses got past the first man? erm i think about 1?

at least he has the energy to chase the lost causes. i'd say 1 in 5 lost causes chased result in getting some sort of advantage. and if that 1 happens to be a goal then its all worth it. we do not pay money for players to conserve their energy! Demolition darby is earning every penny he gets and town will be alot better off because of it!

Excellent display from Darby today and well worthy of the man of the match award

Whilst the likes of Lowe, Street and Cramb were shying away from challenges on the extremely wet surface in the first half, Darby got stuck in and never gave up ANYTHING which is what you need to do in the Conference.
Well done Duane, also another point STREET MUST NOT PLAY ON THE LEFT AGAINST TELFORD.

Darby was clearly Man of the Match. His endless running, tackling and battling saw him unlucky not to get a goal. My brother in law was at the game today (a QPR fan) and the first thing he said to me after the game was: "Your no.10 must have been lacking fitness as he hardly moved all game and gave up on most runs before he'd started them"

"Your no.10 must have been lacking fitness as he hardly moved all game and gave up on most runs before he'd started them" not bad for someone who nearly scored 3 times

Nearly being the operative word in that sentance.
Fair play he's scored 13 goals this season but he's also missed one hell of a lot of chances as well

Cramb - infuriating.
He has the ability to turn a game in our favour.
But for me he's not doing the business. Meanwhile Darby is getting better as the season goes on.
I'd start with Darby and Rodgers.

There's a big argument. Jemmo is comparable in a lot of ways to Cramb. Both players score goals but get slated for what seems a lack of effort. The only difference being that Jemmo's goals came at far more important times than Crambs have IMO. I'm not so sure about Cramb's performances at the moment. Darby was easily the most impressive of the strikers today and I was dissapointed Rodgers didn't get more of a run out. I liked Norge's quote during the game: "You only rave about Cramb as you've got his name printed on the back of your shirt"

Also if i were darby i would hate playing in this team - in 90 mins today we crossed the ball 0 times past the first man - truey awfal!!!!! way to use the high advantage Quinny might aswell drop him then (JOKE!)

In fairness to faginy that shirt is signed by his new hero darby You gotta play the players in form so Darby first and then the best player in training ( i would play luke out right, rather than lowe) and thus banim or cramb to play with darbs - but quinny aint gonna ever play luke out wide - its much to clever an idea to a problem position

Darby held up the ball superbly today and linked up with the rest of the team superbly.
At the moment, IMO, Darby should be starting ahead of Cramb. Bring the latter on for the final part of the game and see what he can do then.

He has a couple of cracking long shots today that only just went wide as well as being at the centre of most link up play with the midfled. His use of posession was also excellent and he hardly lost the ball.

[quote author=faginy link=board=general&thread=1079212273&start=21#1 a player who chases down a throw in to the opposition, or a player that can unlock the opposition defence [/quote] or whats more important a player who keeps the ball or a player that gives it away ... a lot ps when during this game or the last game or..... did lord cramb unlock anything - if by unlocking you mean getting the ball and running with it untill a he as a stupid shot when he could play some one in or running with it then trying a pointless back heel/flick which give the opposition the ball back
