I read this comment from someone every few days WHY ? no one is blocked from posting (even anonymous posters are given freedom to post) only posts against the boards terms of conditions and offensive posts are ever deleted still think b&a is a cliche ? then try this walk into any pub join the nearest group of people and ask a general question they will all look at you strangely and you may even get a reluctant reply you're more likely to get a sarcy reply and a few spersons ask a few more questions at which point they will probably leave or tell you to leave perhaps they are cliche indeed they will be a cliche is a group of friends b&a is a group of friends but how can we relate to anonymous posters ? simply introduce yourself and you're immediatley one of our cliche

I spoke to someone today who used to watch the footie on his own since his mates moved away but since getting to know people on B&A now knows loads of people
another point on the clique thing, if you went into a pub and said something openly derogatory about someone, or perhaps even their girlfriend, however much you meant it as a joke you would be in trouble.

Image the scenirio, a group of town fans are in a pub talking about the New Meadow, someone walks in with their colours on, and casually asks the group what they think about redeveloping the existing meadow, would the group pass comments such as
Give me your helmet , so i can bang my head against the wall some more
We have been through this, GET OVER IT!
Its not going to happen!!!!!
or discuss the issue sensibly
and if one of the group, came up with a particularly nasty reply, would the rest of his mates back him up with:-
Nice one!!!!
Good One!!!
WELL SAID!!!!
Totally agree!!!!
And as for having a go at guests, you dont start a conversation up with the guy at the football, then stop him before he can speak, and asked his proper name, and not concider his views if he doesnt want to give it.
Regular users seem to justify upsetting anyone by inserting a smiley/winky face, or such wit as 'Reel him in!' made or the more funnier by inserting a picture of a fish!

I have to admit, I do find it a little clique. I am registered, but don't really know anyone on here personally. Perhap it's because my posts are not interesting, relevant or whatever, or they're just plain sh*te, but it can seem that often my comments are ignored. I don't really mind as I use B & A mainly for info and others' opinion. I met up with the London Shrews for the first time last week, and did find that a couple of them agreed with me. I know I'm not a regular poster, but I just accept that that's the way it is I suppose (again bear in mind I'm just back home after a Sat night out - perhaps that's the real problem with my posts)!

I guess if someone has the same debate with people every saturday for five years and then someone comes up to them and says "what about this, what a great idea, let's redevelop the Gay Meadow" there may come a point when they just snap!
1) Funding 2) Access 3) Covenant
To support a redevelopment of the Gay Meadow you obviously have not listened to anything said by our directors, anything said by SUFAN or other fans groups, or even what the Council said when the passed planning permission for New Meadow.
If you choose to ignore the facts repeatedly presented again and again and again from a variety of sources then some people are just going to lose their temper.
I am pretty sure it was people who were involved in SUFAN who went nuts on that thread, and in fairness you were throwing five years work back in their face
I do agree with the keyboard warrior syndrome making this an unwelcome place. Banter is good though, take SNFC and Lee, they're part of the gang now even though we agree on about 5% things!

I can understand where the cliche idea comes from, but dont honestly think its true. I can post on here sometimes and get a descent kind of responce, ie, what Ive said has caught peoples interest, other times, hardly a hoot. But lifes like that every where. Its the same at work, I dont get a fanfare everytime I open my mouth. Infact people on here are usually a lot more forgiving than my workmates when I get it wrong. Some of the people on here have been posting for years and certain posters do have a better rapore than others, but when the new guy turns up at work we all say hello, but it usually takes a while to really get to know them and interact on a personal level. Not everything everyone has to say is going to be of interest to everyone else, but that doesnt mean you should stop saying it. This is a great place to talk about all kind of stuff, and ask any woman, just cos no ones listening doesnt mean you should stop talking. ;D

Didnt have to mate, just stood in front of her and opened the top couple of buttons on my shirt, I have that affect on women. Mind you, if the photo had been taken a couple of seconds later the not so pleasant image of sophie being violently sick would have been captured.

Before the main part of my post may I post a definition of a clique "A small exclusive group of friends or associates." I personally get very dissapointed when this is mentioned about B&A. I can understand where people are coming from because there are undoubtadly people who post more than others, agree with each other a lot and are friends with each other out of the B&A circle. What annoys me though is that maybe some don't realise that there are plenty of the regulars on B&A who have only been introduced each other since posting on the site. I can name at least a dozen people who I've met this season alone who I've met through the site. What's more I can't say I agree with anyone 100% on their views regarding the Town and I very much doubt anyone else does with me. The point about 'last posts' etc and finding no one replies to your posts is also, I believe, to be mis-founded. How about thinking that a last post on a thread is 'a final word' i.e. a view that people respect and feel it adequately sums up the feelings of the thread - or inadvertently a post which makes those who disagree think again. I also know it's frustrating when people don't reply to threads being started - but it's something that happens to everyone. On a side note when I link to an article from B&A and no one replies it doesn't mean people haven't read the article or given thought to it. I believe that any such organisation will produce members who are more involved than some who prepare to take a back seat but that doesn't mean that everyone's views aren't important to the site because ultimatley they are. Shrewforever is right, it's often the 'regulars' who post the most shíte anyway

the points was just a bit of fun (i even started a thread called "bit of fun" to explain it) it didn't really work and the idea was dropped a spell checker had been requested by a few users pab is a fairly new user and if you ask him the full story about his avatar i think you'll find this so called cliche is quite helpful and georgie blue blueandamber.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1078670174you did force this on us once or twice and the way i read it was that you knew more than you were letting on but didn't say what i'm sorry if you dont agree. For what its worth, I am an out-sider of this "clique". In terms of B&A users, I went to hni with Ade Plimmer, but haven't sen him since about 1992. I also know Lee Mcnally enough to say hello to and exchange the odd email with and Bally is a TUFC fan from "my" era! I have seen Shakey in his excellent shop. Thats it, end of story, never met anyone else, although I keep threatening to buy Throbs a drink! I have only twice felt a bit out of it on here and both of those occasions have been when people have had a go at me personally, rather than disagreeing with my views. Other than that I have always felt a part of the community and I do view it as a community. What I have found is that if people post utter rubbish or are rude or disrespectful, they will not be tolerated for long, and why should they? A good example of this was "Uncle festa" and also "SIM" does his bit I honestly don't feel it is a clique, its just a group of people who don't tolerate idiots.

Ant you are spot on there mate. Some of the rubbish you and 'Narrow Heeead' spout, well it beggars belief ;D This board is made up of every posters opinions. We all have different opinions, formed from, facts, seeing things, what we hear and a lot of rumour Football, our beautiful game and STFC our club are what brings us all to this board. Everybody has a common link, either Football or STFC, but apart from that many of us don't have alot in common. What i do find annoying is peoples opinions, sometimes very wrong factually, but still an opinion can be and are shouted down. This is usually done by either a 'guest ' or one of the regulars, because they are just that regulars, on here so much as to read every thread. Just because you have 500+ posts does not make your opinion any more valid than the guest or -20 poster. Equally, thanks SNF, rude or disrespectful posters should not be tolerated. There is your problem, what is rude or disrespectful to some is not to others This is why i think the board gets this 'cliche' (or click Ant ) reputation every so often, but it will happen on every message board the world over. We are all bonded by one thing football or STFC. Respect others opinions and don't become a bully

Yes TOAO and being sarcastic is an offence to me You won't bully me off this board ;D Pab btw judging by the pic, it was cold when you met Sophie or you had an encouraging responce from her ;D . And Dave, thought it was me mate, the 'last post' thing, glad somebody else gets that feeling. Nothing upsets me on this board except being called 'not everybody's cup of tea'
