North Wales has one of the worst crime rates in the UK ?, have lived here in the area for over 40 years where does this figure come from as it certainly surprised me.

Pricey, I'm surprised you've entered the driving debate, given that several members of this board have witnessed your driving and would be inclined to state that you are more dangerous to pedestrians and motorists than any of the roads you list..... ;D

But Gaz it seems like my record is identical to yours 3 points and thats it 5 years with out a crash and its not like i dont drive far - every away game lastyear by car and go caught speeding 0 times in towns i had never been to, although im sure i got flashed in Stevange this year!!! I take a risk or two yes but - only i the persuit of fun , and if i was not a confident driver i would not have done what i did that night of the Quiz Back to the topic - over 30 people have died now at the End of the new A5 bypass in Montford and will anyone spend the money on a roundabout - no - but will they sit in montford bridge and catch the people doing 35 in a 30 area

I was watching a Prog about these Stealth Bomber that can't be picked up by Radar which I believe is what most cameras use, maybe Ford will design a Stealth car that can't be picked up by Radar and use this a a great selling point ABS, Airbake CD and anti Radar

i hate the cameras
lets be honest if secret cameras were installed on every single road in the uk 99% of drivers would be banned after 1 day
they are money making devices full stop none of the new cameras in shrewsbury are anywhere near a school
the hidden mobile cameras are only ever set up where the speed limit is low on a decent stretch of road
eg a 30 where it could be a 40 a 40 where it could be a 60
i would suggest making the fines to match the speeding offence and off the top of my head a formula (AxA)/2 A= speed over the limit
2 mph over the limit would be a £2 6 mph over the limit would be a £18 10 mph over would be a £50 fine 20 mph over = £200 30 mph over = £450 50 mph over = £1250
anything above 30 over the limit should also carry a ban (i think it does anyway)
ok it may need tweaking but the fact that some drivers currently doing 31 in a 30 and getting done the same as someone doing 60 is totally wrong

I would be interested in knowing whether there is any scientific study that shows that safety cameras have reduced injuries on the road- personally I have always found it strange that cars are able to go twice as fast as the allowable speed limit.

"I take a risk or two yes but - only i the persuit of fun ," You sound just like a young boy racer with statment
"and if i was not a confident driver i would not have done what i did that night of the Quiz "
and last time i heard something like that was from a bloke who said i feel like more confident driving after 3 or 4 pints of beer, some months later he had a whopping ban and fine.
on those statements alone seems to imply that you think its ok to do as you please behind a wheel of a motorcar
"only in the persuit of fun " not on public highways. "

Legal to buy a gun, but you can't always use things as you please

That was a rather unpleasant post. I agree with much of what he said. The odd risk "in pursuit of fun" is silly. It wouldn't have been his business if you hadn't posted it in a discussion on speeding. Lets all be friends.
