I was one Ian, and looking back it was probably the wrong suggestion, and yes we could have give BHA more tickets if there was a way of seperating the riverside.
On a side note - you're not seriously telling me the club acted on the attitude of the Messageboard opinions re: the BHA game are you?
Only two years later, when there were tons more fans online, who wrote letter and send e-mails regarding the ticketing situation for the Stafford Rangers (which was over-turned) and the club say the decision had nothing to do with the fans.
That's not right is it?

What would be your solution to the all ticket/ not all ticket etc. debate as regards the Telford game?

There are two options.
Make the game all ticket and give us the the away end only (1,600 or so places).
Pay on the gate, knowing 2,500 to 3,000 Town fans will come down. Give Town fans that side terracing.
It is up to Telford how they arrange the segregation at their own ground, but if it is going to be pay on the gate then they are asking for an awful lot of trouble if they are only going to hand out 1,600 spaces.

they take into consideration a lot of things, the fans included.
i'm not involved in the process so don't know the ins and outs of the whole process.
the stafford game has been explained numerous times before and was the club making a decision too quickly, and that hasn't happened since, things are thought about more thoroughly now.
telford, my personal thought.
i can't see what the problem is.
last game 6000, 1300 from Telford. Town's biggest away following 2000+ against Northwich but that was over the holiday.
I'd say Telford will get 2000 and we'll take over 2000, they'll all fit in the ground if we have the away end and part of the otherside.
At the end of the day it's Telford's game, they make the decision under advice from all sides. If they give us 50 tickets they give us 50 tickets, if they segregate the ground to allow 2500 Town fans in they do that.

What ever TUFC do they are in a no win situation.
However it would appear that at the risk of upsetting a few of their own fans they could quite easily lesser the huge risk of trouble by giving Salop the extra side.

What ever TUFC do they are in a no win situation. quite right, if we give the whole east terrace then people who want to sit will moan as there will be no seats for you - i dont think there is catering on the east terrace that equals more moaning. to queue for the east terrace would mean telford and town fans being right along side each other, creating a problem for the police there is a meeting with the police 2moro apparently and if its made all ticket, the easiest solution is the away end (1400-1700), half the east terrace to allow the regulars and less comotion getting in and 200 seats to appease people who will moan if they cant sit

I've been told that we will get half the East Terrace, The Nag End, and some of the seats giving us 3,000 tops. Now whether we take 3000 I don't know. Whether 3000 plus Telford fans turn up I don't know. I would think that it being a Tuesday night, we would certianly expect to take 2000 minimum. I would say that Telford at the most would have 3000 fans. So if the segregation is done sensibly there should be enough room.
It is a difficult science as we have never met in such a high profile match. It is a difficult situation due to the number of Town fans who live in Telford, and this makes selling tickets and trying to segregate fans almost impossible. Who is to sday that if Town sold out an allocation of tickets that Telford based Salop fans wouldn't just get tickets for the home end. I'm sure many would, even if it is totally wrong to do so.
Put it this way, if the police insisted on some sort of membership scheme for this game - hey maybe a kin to what was suggested for Stafford at home last season - we would be up in arms!
I would suggest to all Town fans next Saturday to try and get there as early as you can. It is difficult with work and stuff I know. If the authorities open the turnstiles early and prevent a Chester situation I'm sure any turnout in excess of 3000 Town fans could be dealt with sensibly.
Question to the Telford fans - (Ant Goodwin - yeah defoe sort out that pint in the Tpost sometime!). Realistically can you see more than 2000 Telford fans at this game??? Question to Town fans, considering how we hate all ticket games, is part of the reason we why are complaining so much about this is that basically it could be a free for all, and people who have been to all the matches might not get in, and the glory hunter once a season chaps might?
Comparisons with Millwall are a bit wide of the mark. The amount of potential Millwall fans in Telford buying tickets is minimal. The potential amount of Shrewsbury based Telford fans is large.
Historically giving over the home ends has happened at Shrewsbury. In season 1991/2, Wolves, Birmingham and Stoke were all given half the Riverside. Also WBA that season too.
After Hillsborough half the Riverside was given to Chelsea, as an overspill. The ironic thing was that this meant that Town fans were squashed into a smaller space!

Lets hope the ticket allocation for the Conference encounter will go smoothly after the FAT game, Telford are obviously unsure of what to do but lets see this as a 'trial run' for them.
DONT make it all ticket, give us half of the east terrace, the Nagington terrace and at least 200 west stand seats, hopefully it will be enough, thats the thing though, no one in their wildest dreams imagined that well over 2,000 would make the trip to Chester on a Tuesday night beforehand, its all about being prepared....

Spoke to PC Roberts tonight,
The whole situation is a shambles. I just hope it all goes off without incident and whatever decision is finally made is the correct one.
