Evening all,
I've spoken to a few of you recently regarding the possible publication of a B&A fanzine starting next season.
With the ALS boys now working extremely hard with the umbrella groups/ SUFAN etc. their input into producing a fanzine isn't possible at the moment.
I believe B&A could produce a good publication - not by any means replacing ALS (that wouldn't be possible!).
What we need to do now is push forward with this idea. I need help of possible interested parties in two brackets
1) Contributors - people who would be willing to write/ submit articles for the fanzine.
2) Committee members - people who could and would play a more active role in fanzine in such things as design, layout and editing etc. etc.
If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, comments etc. or is interested in taking part in this project please reply here, send me a private message or e-mail me anthonythomas99@hotmail.com
Thanks in advance

Excellent idea. I believe we could put together an excellent b+a fanzine. I would be willing to write an article very occasionaly, but i'm sure others on here would put together excellent articles regularly.

Don't under estimate the amount of time this would take. If you can spread the load as much as possible it should be good. Get in touch with as many photographers as possible (from clubs we're likely to meet) as previously unseen photos are always interesting. I have quite a few from a few years back.

Sounds gr8 in principle, but just a couple of thoughts:
1. R U hoping it will make money? If so for what cause?
2. How will it be funded?
3. If you get B&A members to contribute, what impact will that have on their posting activities on the website (e.g. will it replace some of the features which may otherwise have appeared on B&A)?
I guess the real issue, is how will the role of the Fanzine differ from, and / or compliment the role of the website?
BTW, I'd be happy to help ;D

1. R U hoping it will make money? If so for what cause?
No specific aim for it to do so but I guess it will depend on it's success. Money made goes into the B&A fund as far as I would be concerned.
2. How will it be funded?
Not sure yet, something for decision yet.
3. If you get B&A members to contribute, what impact will that have on their posting activities on the website (e.g. will it replace some of the features which may otherwise have appeared on B&A)?
I don't think it'll make too much difference to be honest. Some articles may overlap but many probably won't.

I'd say this is an excellent idea...there are many people on here who have contributed to the Blue-and-Amber website with some excellent articles. Throughout this season we have seen some excellent, thoughtful and enjoyable contributions that deserve a wider audience... Great idea...

(I haven't logged in- got to dash off to work soon!) Yes- of course I'd be willing to contribute. Some of the things I write are rubbish I realise that- but occasionally I get some serious inspiration What about Cuzz and his poems? (In fact we've got at least 3 "poets" on the site- and very funny they can be, too! )
