For me, the most beautiful County is Devon Cumbria is my favourite county after Shropshire, the scenery in parts of that county is absolutely mindblowing, but Devon is very nice too, I would go on regular holidays to Exmouth and I was very close to moving there as a nipper as my parents loved it there so much, I could have been a Exeter supporter!

walking above Cardingmill valley and looking over the valley to the earthworks on the top on the other side with caer Caradoc, Hope Bowdler Hill and Ragleth Hill in attendance. Caused a pause for thought.
The scenery in Shropshire isn't usually as dramatic as that though.

the view of stokesay castlefrom the church walk is stupendous. ;D Stokesay castle is a special place. We're lucky enough to have a print of maggie humphry's paintings of Stokesay Castle. Follow the link: www.maggie-humphry.co.uk/

For me the best views are from the second and twelfth tees at Llanymynech golf course, you can see all of the shropshire plain, and then right around to the Welsh hills, a full 360 panoramic that shows the huge difference between the two sides of the border.

Coming past the wrekin ( driving not walking ). Superb view of gods county. Having said that, its always comforting, when you have been away, to be able to pick out the wrekin from a distance and know your almost home.

Just got back today from a week in Cornwall, a lovely place when the weather is good (a bit mixed this week!). Some great scenery on the drive over Bodmin to St Austell (very close to St Blazey - I wish we'd booked a week later ), from Bude looking down over Widemouth Bay, and all along the coast from Tintagel down to Padstow. Driving down the old coastal road from Boscastle into Tintagel yesterday the view just opened up suddenly with the coast below us, just amazing. It was a good clear afternoon coming home today to take in the landscape on the M54/A5 as you turn the corner that many have posted about. I thought I'd got to the end of the thread without anyone else mentioning my favourite but Tom Leather just beat me to it. The top of Llanymynech Golf Course on a clear day is just stunning, I was lucky that my first time on the course was Flower Show day many years ago when Concorde did the flypast to celebrate the shows centenary(?), a beautiful day and a moving sight. A final shout out for Pontesford Hill as well, just to recall many childhood walks from Longden through 'Happy Valley', up the back of the hill and down the front into Pontesbury. Views over from the Stiperstones, Long Mountain and around into North Shrops. Great stuff!

You get some great views from the top of Middletown Hill but it's been a decade since I last went up there I guess.
I too love the view from the top of the M54/A5 just before the road goes down towards Shrewsbury.
Ive just come back from Cornwall and there were some decent views around there too. I've got some cracking piccys on my camera, makes a change from the usual ones which are all blurry or have a finger in the way ;D
I think Telford is a very ugly place. The town centre is devoid of any character, but it doesn't help when most of it was built during the 60's and 70's. They were hardly blessed with great taste back in them days!

I grew up in Little Wenlock, on the south side of the Wrekin (a quite attractive part of Telford...). You can see for many miles from my parents' house- right down to Wenlock Edge and into the South Shropshire hills, and right into Wales.
