Maybe you could have a challange competition i.e. borrow Laptops speed gun to see who's got the fastest kick Or a Challange Spinky, to see if he can guess your aliment And if you he loses then you can get Rachel to look at it, a win-win situation Perhaps there should be a comp to see who can stay in the Away teams showers the longest, but after the 'last' edurance test by BRMB you might want to avoid that

The buzz around the town is great and we need to capitalize on that.
The photo with the cup is a good idea but if it was with the cup and a player that would be even better. £5 for a picture with the cup and your hero from the game( Darby, Howie or challis) would appeal more. Structure prices would help with a basic prices for a picture and a bit more for two people in the picture and a little bit more for families.
Also opening the executive lounge with some kind of model for the new stadium as well as the video with someone from Alaska explaining the design and features to really get people involved and excited about something so important to the town.
Opening all the bars and lounges would be a good idea as in the summer children can drink gallons and the parents will also be after a drink especially if it's 30 degrees outside and would easily cover the cost of staff if people could'nt be found to help out.
Basically trying to put together something that appeals to people interests rather than there loyality. If is good people will hear and walk down from town to have a look and spend money, In previous years the open days have felt rushed and seem to have outdated ideas with little thought put forward.

Photo of you and the cup for £5 is absolutely brilliant and would rake in loads!
Photos of players to buy for £1 - £2 with players available to sign them is another good one
penalty shoot out vs Howie is a fine idea, that would be worth a good amount of money, and those who score win the t-shirt, awesome!
Could we get some of the youth teamers / women's team to do like a practise training session and show off their tricks etc, to show the club is not just about the first team
what about a 5 a side comp on the pitch with teams from all the local primary schools, there would be loads of parents there to watch it!
the problem witht he players bar last eyar was that it was absolutely rammed and so hot! is there any way we could serve drinks outside if the weather is good?
get a burger van / ice cream van and make them pay for the slot, people may stay longer if they can have lunch there
I also suggest we actually say very clearly where the money is going to, I know it is all going to "STFC" overall, but if I knew my photo of me with the cup meant the "Youth System" got £5 I would have a clear idea of who is benefitting
now that is £5 less the club have to find so essentially it is just going ot them, but people like to have a cause to feel better about parting with their cash!

You could have a "Guess the attendance" at the NBH for their first home game next season £1 a guess 50/50 prize (assuming Telford start a "next season" at the NBH).

Mark - as a general point I'd say that it's important to get a timetable of events that keep the supporter there as long as possible.
A couple of been to in the past were a case of wanderin down, wandering round, then wandering home.
Get 'em spending as Brian Potter would say.

what about climbing the floodlights to get a photo from the top? think that the penalty shoot out against scott howie or joe hart is a top idea! or a goal keeping comp where you go in goal against the town penalty heroes. we could have matt redmile as a clown to do face painting!!!!!!!!!!! or he could just go on the hot dog stand!!!

It's important to get kids hooked on Town before Man U etc get their hooks in, so make it child friendly. Players are heroes to kids so try to have a slot where players and kids interact, maybe a simple skills demo and coaching a skill.
Have players show off their party skills with the ball, most people don't realise how good pro's actually are.
Keepy-uppy competition, small fee per go and prize to the winner.
Looking forward to having my photo taken with the trophy ;D

I've done a bungee jump before for the ISC and I would quite happily do one again, so I would like to see bungee jumping at the open day if at all possible, 'Human Table Football' is another thing I would like to participate in but definitely Bungee Jumping please

Ant suggested a 'Q&A' session with Jimmy Quinn, maybe the Q&A with JQ and company could be hosted on the pitch (with the audience in the main stand) later in the day after all the other events (autograph signings, ground tours etc) have place?

My kids absolutely loved meeting the players last year but they wilted in the sun while we queued for priority cards etc. There wasn't a great deal more for them to do.
More for the kids to do, please. They are the fans of the future and turned out in large numbers at Stoke. If you capture their hearts and minds now, chances are they'll be Town fans for a long time. (It's a life sentence, I know)
Bouncy castle, face painting, blue & yellow balloons, playing football with Lenny & Mrs Lenny, longer access to the players...

How much would it be worth to have your pic taken with it do you think ? The FA Cup came to the Meadow some time ago and I think it was £5 a go - but that was a charity thing organised by a local firm. I think this is a good idea.

last year there were guided tours which are labour intensive and once you have been on one you may not want to go again the following year!
could someone put together like a treasure hunt around the meadow or a quiz asking where things are or finishing the sentence etc
that way fans could walk around the ground at their own pace, mostly unsupervised, and have a challenge to complete
also, if they enter thier enswers with a name and address then you could have hundreds of future contacts

Human table football is a right laugh if its organised properly.
I'd pay a fiver for a decent photo with the trophy, or say about £2-3 to have a photo taken with my own camera.
As seanbroseley said, make sure the dvd, away shirt, retro top etc. are on sale.
It would be best if there was more to do than last year, as most peopkel spent all the time queuing in the baking sun for priority cards/season tickets, and then for the club shop.

I'll probably be taking Leah (Hinstockshrew's) little brother. Something for non- STFC fans to do, maybe! Any chance of a look at Luke's car or something? Mr Wiggy's threatening to come with me- and cars are the only thing he gets really excited about! Seriously though, what about picture quiz things? Things like they do on question of sport- guess the player- in disguise or in an unfamiliar setting. A prize for the first correct entry to be drawn- needn't be a huge one- and charge for the entries.

Trying not to duplicate ideas
Get the open top bus there, all decked out, and have your piccy on that with some players and the trophy. If not for piccys then it would still be interesting to have there.
Have the players running skills slots with some of the kids. My lad would love kicking a ball about with Sam or shooting at Scott. The shooting competition that was there before is too hard for the smaller ones and I appreciate that the idea of taking shots at Howie/Hart is good, but will probably not be on because of the pitch.
What struck me last year was the range in the attitude of the players. Some seemed as if it was the last place on earth they wanted to be, while others were encouraging to my lads, and trying to build them up. Ryan Lowe did very well on that front, I won't name those that didn't. A simple chat with the kids when they ask for an autograph goes a long way rather than signing and carrying on their conversation with another player and not looking at them when they hand it back. They could be briefed on that.
A football quiz. Players v ASFC v B&A. Based on the style of the old Rothmans Football Quiz League. That could be in the afternoon and keep people there longer.
Raffle - prizes could be a season ticket, shirt etc.
Lenny - goes without saying he has to be there! Make sure he has plenty of appropriate fluid!
That's as much as my painkiller soaked brain can manage at the moment.

How about each player donates something personal into a club auction? These get put on a board, and everyone who attends can bid for each item? At the end of the day (good footballing cliche!), the person whose bid is the highest for a particular item wins it.
Also, the club could put up a season ticket for each part of the ground, with a charge of say £1 for a ticket to win it.
Finally, how about a draw for a VIP day for a fan plus guest for a home game of their choice? That might be tickets for the Box, signed shirt, meal with the Chairman / JQ after the match, meet the players etc.

do a raffle at £1 a ticket-top prize=season ticket,2nd prize =new shirt (signed possibly0,3rd prize =signed ball, that sort of thing-if enough folks are there then that should bring in a bit.get it organised early enough and get it on the radio and the local papers and with some of the ideas coming off here it could be a great day out and raise some money for the club in the close season. it's a win-win situation.

Get winny down their with his footballcards Seriously pictures with trophy+/or players is brilliant. i'd pay for that and I'm a student!!! Other points around the ground where fod/drink can be bought, but most importantly club merchandice. Last year I was put off just because of the heats, lack of room and huge que in the club shop. Some new celebratory merchandise might also be a brilliant seller. Sort of blue t-shirts, club badge (pinted on) over the breast, amber verticle line going on the same side of the badge going straight down, and play-off winners 04 or whatever writen along the verticle amber line. Saw Norwich had released some T-shirts like this and they looked brilliant. Could have Football League 04 on the back. Have players lined up like last time to get shirts signed etc.... And lots of raffles-for season tickets, vip tickets, signed shirts, shirts, free matchday tickets, priority card, and signed piccys. One of the main prizes could be getting STFC at your school for a coaching session?
