1969ish, harry gregg changed the colours as they were easier to pick out, or something along those lines... Never heard that one before. I thought the club changed it's colours due to chairman Tim Yates - whose race horse ran in B&A - or something like that?

Never knew why it happened. It was blue/white when I started watching, then all blue (like Chelsea), then amber socks appeared (late 60's ?). During the 70,s that progressed to amber shorts, and amber trim on the blue shirts. Then suddenly blue and amber stripes appeared in 1978, I don't remember too much being said at the time. We were more worried about the team After that it changed regularly - Mattsnapper has lots of pics homepages.nildram.co.uk/~matta/townkits.html

amber socks came from harry gregg in 1969
stripes came from tim yates' race horse colours which were amber and blue stripes (did he win many races JP = rattersghost.?)
went to white cause Ian McNeill thought it looked smarter
the scrambled egg kit go STFC in the press and 90 minutes and 442 and Shoot! and Matchday magazines so many times !
my ex designed the blue kit with the white stripes on the sleeve (PS where did she ever go to..!?)
went back to blue and white under jake to emulate the 50s and 60s
and now were are ALL blue - if its not stripes.. id like Ajax style OR back to the 1976 kit with amber shorts

Never keen on the amber shorts myself. I am happy as long as we are mainly blue shirts, pref with amber trim or stripes and blue shorts. But I liked the shirt with white stripes on the arm as well, so we could do something similar with amber stripes there. I never buy them anyway, so no-one will care what I think

Blue and amber
and if they don't I suggest boycotting it and launching our own kit, giving the club the money in the end
I am tired of being treated with contempt by the club, and anything other than blue and amber would be just that

Blue and Amber are the colours that I associate with the club and the only colours that the team should wear at home IMO. Something on the lines of the 1978-79 broad stripe classic would be my preferred option, even though it looks cr@p on me.

Quote from Malcolm Whitrick at last nights meeting (and said with almost a "snarl" ) "there will be NO amber in the new stadium " Read into that what you will but I believe that within a year the "Blue & Amber " brand will be dead unless we make sure it's kept alive.

The bottom line is that Mal Whitrick has always seen our colours as Blue and White, and he is from the generation who do so
The question is how many 50 somethings buy kits and how many 10-40s do

The club's electrician is a determind sort of man, I know I used to live a few doors away from him, I think there could be a strong possibility that the stadium will be the RMW stadium whos logo colours are BLUE & WHITE

Fcuk that right off. May I sugest that Mr Mal Whitrick feck right off. If he wants blue and white why doent he nip up the road to Chester, then there is Nuneaton Boro, Cardiff City etc... It should be up to the supporters to decide not some director whos "ego is writing cheques his body cant cash" (sorry ). I've had enough of the supporters of this club being taken for a ride. People are right, we own, have feck all to do with the club, hell a man linked with theft of gate money from a previous club and the demise of two other clubs as well as a man banned from being a director of a company and savaged in the national media have a greater say on how this club is frigging run. Rant over
