my view is why would we want to be the only club to have the same colour home kit as away kit

Well that was my view last season Pilch. And then the design that won was changed to have even more blue on it. If you could cast your vote Pilch and nail it to the top of the messageboard I'd be appreciative.

Also an away kit is chosen and then hardly worn

Could it be capped by a home kit hardly bought?

last season the away was designed and chosen by the fans
as a result i would guess we sold more away kits than ever before (the play offs helped a lot but i'm sure we would have sold more than usual anyway)
the ability is now there to let the fans design and choose again
in the process by charging a small fee for voting by text the club could make a tidy profit
lets have 10 designs with 1 voted off each week if its blue & white so be it
lets not go back to the dark ages where a new kit suddenly appears and looks exactly like a previous kit
if the board want blue and white then why not make the away kit the home kit and revive the sales on the shirt, and let the fans pick another change strip

The current away kit is white and blue - mind you that has been a home kit before now.
Could people also indicate to what extent their answer would be effected by the choice of manufacturer?
So, are you die-hard blue and amber until there is a Nike blue and white strip available?

Blue and amber is a unique (or very rare at leats) colour combination for a football shirt and it looks great. How many football league clubs wear blue and white? I'd much prefer a new kit to be along the same theme as what we have had in the past 5 years or so rather than the crap we endured in the early to mid 90's.

i think it's a case of most people preferring the kit that Town wore the first time that they watched them,so apart from 4 or 5 years anyone under the age of 40 wont have seen many blue and white kits. if we are going to have blue and white kit how about stripes or quarters like they wore in the early days.

Hi Sean I'm very much a Blue and Amber supporter.
My concern is that we WILL be soon wearing a Blue and White shirt of some description.....done deal etc.
It is a straight fight between WHITE and AMBER....made even more important with the move to the new ground.....what colour seats will be used???

If the club shirt wa to be made by a good name eg Nike Addidas ,Puma, looked good, range of sizes and was to be worn for a few seasons i am all for it ,the away strip could be Amber then.or a match close to it.

While I think that the neatest kit we ever had was the all blue with white socks from the late '60's, I prefer B&A because it is so distinctive.
However, I rarely but replica shirts because of the dodgy quality and prefer the recent retros.

Just want the club to decide and stay with it!! Are we blue and amber, blue with white, white with blue? Its embarrassing this, has any other club changed their colour scheme as much as we have in the last 20 years? Club colours are very, very important to us supporters (well to me anyhows), does the club know and understand this? Let’s just get em to decide what they fliping want and stick with it… I'm with Alty Dave, I won't buy a replica top unless we get sommat decent. Very happy with the retro tops we have...

amber and blue this is unique and so many clubs have blue and white a large part of our history centres around 1979 with the FA Cup run - our kit of amber and blue stripes is unique as blackburns halfs or bristol R's quarter shirts I know and appreciate we used to be in the everton type kit but since 1969 we wore amber socks and gradually introduced more amber. The 1974 kit was cool with blue top and amber socks and shorts. PLEASE - no white like under McNeill or Blue and White under Jake We are a unique team. The town colours are blue and amber and so many people around the world know us cause of the spinal tap kit. I appreaciate bringing a new identity and all that, but for me NO NO NO. FYI homepages.nildram.co.uk/~matta/townkits.html

ble and amber stripes are class.. i agree with stuttgart - changing colours is annoying and doesn give us a tradition...
I personally thought the great escape kit was the best we have had since i have supported the boys for 15 years.

I only want to see Shrewsbury Town playing in blue and amber, they are the true colours of Shrewsbury and Shropshire and its quite surprising as to how easy a football supporter wearing a blue and amber shirt can now be identified as a Shrewsbury Town supporter, possibly even in some other parts of the country.
If Nike only produce blue and white shirts then I dont feel we should go with them, simple as that. Going back to blue and white is a backward step IMO.

who gives a flying monkeys about nike - if that is what this thread is all about then you can stick your commercial group XX XXXX XXXX sideways.... there are asics and many other kit manufactureres around the priority is AMBER and BLUE (quote from town times mid 70s..) so many people in football know shrewsbury town because of the blue and amber stripes - we have moved on from blue and white - we do not need to go back to an everton type kit - and im going to chill as I know we wont.. otherwise there will be an uprising

jamo isnt on .. otherwise Ill hard on about the Dutch John Moston who keeps going on about amber and blue stripes and the cheif football writer for AFP in Asia who knows so much about Shrewsbury Town its scarey !

It has GOT to be Blue and Amber. It's distinctive and looks class. I'd be absolutely gutted if we ditched these colours.

I'd buy a shirt whatever the colour of it.
However STFC's home colours should be Blue and amber - no argument.

Yep, lots, although I'm not entirely sure where you've got that from. My point is still that a Nike Amber/Blue kit, whether off the peg or not, would be a massive sellar. Can anyone tell em how many home shirts we've sold of the last two designs. Sib?

Matt As part of the commercial group, I take your comments on board. I can assure you it is not about NIKE or anyone else for that matter.
The thread asked about blue and white vs blue and amber.? This was raised at this weeks meeting and we are looking for all your thoughts. Think about it this way. Do you want to be told what colours we will wear in the future? Or would you like your opinion to be considered?
On the issue of shirt manufacturers again this is an issue which we have a chance to have our opinions heard. If we go to Nike or Reebok or anyone else then this opens up all sorts of hurdles to be overcome. Who decides on the colours? Blue??? what shade of blue - light, dark, royal etc Amber or white - how much?, where?, shading? it goes on and on.
