Who is that aimed at TBH ?
... also, following on from my last point, should Bill Wingrove really be using the STFC website as his personal mouth piece, surely a statement to the press would have been better than a personal statement released on Shrewsweb.
Do we really want him to associate his arrest with the club, after all its got jack, to do with STFC.

And also, the fact he has been working hard behind the scenes on our ground and commercial side is no big deal at all IT IS HIS JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF ? I was asked my opinion and I gave it. He certainly hasnt pinned me to the wall and stolen my credit cards. He hasnt gobben a nice chewey greeny from his office onto my head. He could have been a lazy swine and spent all his day watching porn on TV smoking tabs - but he hasnt. How else in English language would you therefore give a thumbs up to someone..?

bill's tenure at two of our neighbours as resulted in them both going into admin. one during, one shortly afterwards.
his track record speaks for itself doesn't it?
we need to phone the chairman, or phone bill himself to ask what steps are in place to make sure all monies can be accounted for. we need to trust this guy, but him coming out with statement doesn't get to the nitty gritty.
he has also lied now about being arrested. can we trust a liar?
he must go now before we end in administration too. the risk is too great to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm all in favour of believing somebody is innocent until proven otherwise but his track record at Wrexham and Chester hardly fills you with confidence. Chester almost went under and now look at Wrexham. That's hardly a CV that should fill anybody with confidence. Surely there are better people out there. Is the club really THAT desperate for new blood in the boardroom that people like Wingrove and Poole need to be involved?

I can't believe how trusting you lot are really. First of all the man takes chester to the brink, then he is commercial director at Wrexham as Guterman destroys our club. Then despite warnings from wrexham fans you lot let him come to shrewsbury. He is probably sniffing through your books right now paving the way for a Guterman take over funded by your money taken home in brown bags......
The man has already lied to you at least twice that I know of and I havent been following. 1. at a meeting he said he single handly got 1000 kids to join the junior reds (downright lie) 2. He says on your site he went to police station.(lie he was arrested)
WAKE UP, CHESTER FANS TRIED TO WARN US AND LOOK AT THE MESS WE ARE IN. KICK HIS OFFICE DOOR DOWN NOW BEFORE HIS CANCER SPREADS THROUGH YOUR CLUB.
OH HOW I WISH WE HAD LISTENED TO CHESTER.
WINGROVE OUT.

No one can not get his or anyone elses hands on STFC, WFC problems are horrendous, but will not happen here, the club has protected its self long ago against oppourtunists. How many other clubs have it written legaly that should for what ever reason the club went to the wall any profit would go to local charities and not to any one person, our board do not make a penny out of the club

This was posted on Red Passion earlier.
the match after rhodes had gone.
we have to put pressure on wingrove.
if you know any shrews fans please talk to them and remind them that:
1. Wingrove has lied today - said he was not arrested on the shrews official site, but north wales police said he had. do you want a proven liar running the club? 2. Wingrove's history shows two clubs he has worked at. Both have gone into administration. one during his time there and one soon afterwards. is this an added risk for shrewsbury? 3. He has been questioned over missing gate reciepts, do shrews fans know what procedures are in place to make sure, Wingrove can never be alone with cash, until he is bailed and/not charged. 4. Would it be better on the safe side, that wingrove is suspended, until he is bailed and/not charged in january. 5. as christmas is the most stressful time in terms of money, would you wantwingrove looking after your own money?

Does he look after the money at GM? doubt it, neither does he or will he run the club.

All I will say is if we have Wxm fans warning us then we know the man is bad news as there is no love lost between the two sets of clubs
I agree with Kickinpretty that a man in his position who is being investigated for these sort of allegations should be suspended until the police clear his name
I know some people will say innocent till proven guilty but what if a high ranking member of your bank was arrested for stealing money from a previous bank? What if previous banks he had worked for had run into financial problems - first thing that would happen is he would be suspended until the investigation was complete and you would probably withdraw all your money from that bank
Now everyone is obviously entitled to their opinions and my opinion is I simply don't want a man with his track record being involved at STFC. In the real world a man who held 2 high ranking jobs with businesses which both went into adminstration wouldn't be touched with a bargebole elsewhere.

Well said Paul, most professionally run businesses would suspend him until the investigation was complete under these circumstances. I feel we are about to learn something about the running of the club

I work in HR. If I was accused by Police that in a former HR job, I had committed a crime that in any way could be related to my current job (taking bribes, committing serious data protection breaches etc.) I would expect to be suspended (on full pay most likely) until the investigation was concluded.
I don't believe Bill is the right person to be commenting on ShrewsWeb.
There is no lynching mob here save for a couple of uninformed Wrexham comments.
Just a desire to see fair play.

Have to say that, whilst i dont know many of, or indeed any of the fact of this business, I do take the warnings and comments of fans of our bitterest rivals very seriously ( chin up chaps ). This whole business is making me very nervous. I have to agree with a few people on here, if i got arrested for fraud or theft or anything dishonest, I would be suspended, no questions asked. You have to ask serious questions when two senior club officials are being investigated by the authorities. A good point made by someone ( sorry ), are we realy so desperate that we cant find anyone who will do as good a job and not have a questionable background?

Rob - any chance of you giving any credit to the directors.
How about Roland for stumping up hundreds of thousands of pounds to keep the club in business?

I don't think the directors will make money out of the New Meadow - I think that was answered a few weeks ago in a statement of the official website some time ago.
However it is hard recalling the details of what and how much - but maybe that is because it is too complicated.
I wonder if the club has a business plan for the new meadow?
Or are things being pieced together as we go along?
And in a season when the eye should be, quite literally - on the ball.
Not to mention Poole and Wingrove.
Not to mention also that we have a manager who hasn't signed acontract.
