You're listening to the thoughts of B&A's resident 'Football Ambassador', Mr G Price.

Obviously you don't want the club to go bust or owt but a nice little relegation for your most despised rivals is going to make one's season Releagtion to the Conference could have meant the end for STFC as we know it, but I don't recall many tears being shed by our Welsh neighbours over that

a) I'd love Wrexham to be relegated.
b) I'm absolutely gutted to see their financial troubles.
Our problems 2 years back were caused by a s**t defence not by having a swarm of vultures swooping on our football club.

Maybe they should get in touch with Exeter - they must have a good lawyer that can help them out of the mire. Points deduction didn't happen then, so will it happen this time or do Wrexham use Exeter as an example.

Its a new rule that came in after exeter i belive - they will be deducted 10 points - and if there not out of it in 18 months time or 2 season they get expelled from FL

I think the rules were a little cloudier back then. The Conference and League have made things pretty clear this time around, and have deducted 10 points (Northwich) without any challenge......................

hope they survive but also hope they get relegated ;D
strangest thing is that someone suggested that with a bill of £900k if each of the 4000 fans gave £225 the bill would be cleared!! would you pay £225 to save Shrewsbury??!!
the other plan they have done apparently is to set up a premium rate phone line to raise cash

would you pay £225 to save Shrewsbury??!! Would cost me a lot more than £225. The solicitors fees in the divorce case would be expensive. Cheaper to save the £225 AND the wife

I don't know the exact woding of this rule, but apparently Wrexham are going to appeal against the points deduction. Northwich have already been docked 10 points in the conference for this

I love to see Wrexham lose in football terms, but to be shafted by a property developer is terrible
Telford loved their chairman, Wrexham Fans have hated theirs from the beginning, and they were the ones who uncovered his intentions, and as a supporters trust they have bid for the club but he is refusing to sell
I want them to be relegated for football reasons, not anything else

Sad day for Wrexham, definately don't wont them to die, relegation would be just ok with me though. For those who remember the home & away games against them 2 seasons ago thats what rivals are about great games & great atmosphere.

appaling comments from pricey and groover - try imagining how YOU would feel if you were being shafted by your chairman and went into admin with the chance of losing your ground and even your team
if anything ever happens to shrewsbury its some peoples comments that will leave you with very little friends

Are you telling me some Wrexham fans didn't take pleasure in Chester being shafted? And I bet some would take the same line should something happen to your rivals in the future too. For the record I don't want to see Wrexham go bust.

to get a bit techy, the reason exeter avoided the 10 point deduction was because in bringing the rule in, the conference did not correctly follow its own procedures for amending its rules so the club successfully challenged that and the court agreed - plus it didn't help that the conf didn't have the cash or the stomach for an appeal or a fight as i understand it.
i presume that the conf has since got its house in order and passed the rule change properly.

It's a jungle out there.
Let's get ready to rumble.

The 3-3 draw at the Racecourse the last time we played them is one of the few footballing highlight's of the last few season's for me, good crowd, noisy atmosphere and plenty of action. Mix this altogether with bitter rivallry and you begin to understand why we all pay far to much attention to this little game of ours.
Good luck Wrexham FC.. i want you around for years to come .

Terrible news,
As has been noted they've been trying to oust the cahirman for a good long time and have made bids for the club on two occassions.
At least they have the council on their side.
Good luck to them,
the wrexham fans we met at their charity 5-aside were sound chaps.

I've been off work for the last two weeks and therefore had the chance to listen to the radio. Very interesting debate/discussion on 5 Live at lunch time with some pundits and some genuine Wrexham fans who are trying to save their club. Interesting that they did all know about the chairman's intentions but no-one seemed to listen.
They seemed to think that even if he sold the ground, the council would not grant planning permission and there is also a problem in that Lottery funding was used to put in improvements (let alone the fourth side I suppose).
Interestingly, one of the pundits (sorry don't know who it was) was going on something alarming about football directors who don't know what they are doing, are inefficient and bring problems on themselves. Admittedly someone else disputed this with regard to the lower leagues and I just thought ........ come out to Shrewsbury and meet our directors and board ........ not the most dynamic but certainly doing their best for us and the club.
I'm not a great lover of Wrexham either but I wish they were fortunate enough to have a board of directors like us and good luck to their fans.

Ant cheers for defending Pricey and myself earlier in the thread.
Alfonso in theory i wouldn't like to see any club go to the wall, but if it means we will never have to witness Rexham celebrating a win over our good selves again then i think i could live with it.

We'll be next. What is it with football in the Marches? Witness Chester, Wrexham, Salop, Hereford and Newport's fall from relative glory in the last twenty years. Are we cursed?
