Y'know how this year they have sometimes picked a player from the squad and played their choice of music before the game? Maybe we could try it with fans instead, would be good fun, I'd certainly be happy to pick a pre match musical line up ;D

Anything would be better than what was played at half time last night. I guess most people posting here are under 30 while most of the crowd is over 40, so my rule is - play nothing recorded after 1979.

Been away from board for a while due to hols & work so only just found this. Thought I'd be a real sad case & spend a short while having a look through the Rowley CD's and found quite a few (slight underestimate) songs that I'd be glad to hear down the Meadow. Can recommend them all for anyone who has not heard them before.
All eras to date, most genres, but you'll note no "Thud Thud" stuff, as doesn't get classed as music in my book. However, for the youngsters I would allow Hey Ya by Outkast to be played, best song that's charted for many a month.
Here goes (in no particular order):
Ash - Burn baby burn/Girl from Mars/Sometimes Jam - Eton Rifles/Going Underground/That's Entertainment Small Faces - All or nothing Len - Steal my sunshine Marion - Sleep Psychedelic Furs - Pretty in Pink Lush - Ladykillers Cure - Friday I'm in love/Close to me/Inbetween days/Just like heaven LA's - There she goes Split Enz - I got you/Six months in a leaky boat Cult - She sells sanctuary Lloyd Cole - Lost weekend Hooters - Karla with a K Cardigans - My favourite game Doors - Touch Me Echobelly - Great Things/Insomniac R Dean Taylor - There's a ghost in my house Wilson Pickett - Land of 1000 dances Electric Soft Parade - Empty at the end Madness - ANY PLEASE !! but especially Bed & Breakfast Man, My Girl and Lovestruck Dandy Warhols - Get off Grant Lee Buffalo - Wish you well/Dixie drug store Love - Alone again or My Life Story - Strumpet O'Jays - Love train The Ruts - Babylon's burning Unit 4+2 - Concrete and Clay Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy/Found out about you Hall & Oates - She's gone Danny Wilson - Mary's prayer Police - Roxanne/So Lonely Otis Redding - Mr Pitiful/Love Man/Hard to handle Sad Cafe - Everyday hurts Bruce Springsteen - Born to run/The River Deacon Blue - Real gone kid/Chocolate Girl The Sleepy Jackson - Acid in my heart Mercury Rev - The dark is rising
(to continue.......)

Your choice as your burning em'! There seem to be few popular ones coming up but a couple a CD's wouldn't go amiss as it keeps it varied. MarkRowley, if you've got them burned on a CD already then PM me! Some quality tracks on there owd lad

Sorry True_Shrew, all those are just on standard CD's - I prefer to buy rather than burn (only downsides being take up loads of room & hard work on the wallet !!).

Some excellent music - if you want to add another classic, try Lambchop's 'Up with People'.
Killer track.

Despite my previous comment I was suprised that, not only did I know most of Mark's selection, I like them all.
He should be spinning the platters that matter ;D
