Vets vs. Under 20’s - 2 Days to GO!!!!
Well as the tension builds before the game on Saturday many interesting stories broke overnight in relation to teams.
2 Held over Drunken Rampage
Scandal has rocked the Under 20’s team today as two of the more senior members of the squad were held after a night of drinking in Shrewsbury last night. Simon Jeveons (faginy) And Ty Marshall (Ty) were seen heading out on what seemed like a innocent night out at approximately 8.30 Pm last night, after getting an important call from Manager Peter Jones not to bring disrepute onto the club. By 10 Pm things had started to go wrong, after being asked to leave Hole in The Wall Public House, the players already drunk headed to Liquid – a popular night club in the town centre. Ushered to the front (playing on the footballers status) the players were quickly invited into the VIP area where they were given lots of drinks from adoring fans some of which were female!!!. The next 2 hours are not know by the police but they were called at 1.30 AM to deal with, as the police report states “ two p**s head footballers” . As the forces arrived at the scene the players had rampaged out on to the streets and were Quote “chanting songs loudly…. Many of which contained offensive words”. The players were both cautioned by the police but no further action will be taken. Manager Jones defended his players stating it was all a misunderstanding, im not sure it was even them last night.
The Quite Approach
Meanwhile the Vetrans have been building up to the game with a few days away in the Welsh mountains, away from the temptations of the drink and debauchery that so often rocks the Under 20’s. Manager Jamo was herd to remark “im not surprised, it takes a level head to reach the top in this game and I wonder if some of there lads have it, I feel sorry for the younger lads in there team … where are there role models to follow??”. Jamo was quick to praise his players, “we have some level headed pros here im proud to say.. Players like JP, Digger Dave and Paul Williams have all had there head down and been focusing hard on this game, after the hurt they felt in the last defete its not really that surprising”. When asked about the rest of the weeks preparations it was revealed that the Vets would have a press day on Friday where the worlds media will get a first proper look at some of the new players hoping to make the team come Saturday morning.
Captin Marvel, Captin Manager or Caprin Drunk
The Under 20s manager was today left with a very hard task, picking his captin from a very strong squad of experienced players. The front-runners are believed to be TY, Ant, faginy, Murray and the manager himself. With Ants attitude being questioned by many in the media weather he will gee the young ones up or merely just destroy there confidence with yet anther foul mouthed out burst. It was thought Ty would be the main contender, but his recent “problems” may well come back to haunt him, and the sme can be said for faginy. Murry was today found out to have lied about his experience when signing for the club – he stated “and some ASFC experience” – and made a big play of this. But our sources say that this was a mere 8 minutes in goal while some one got change and thus not relevant, this many have angered the manager also. So Jones has some thinking to do before the big one or will he shock everyone and be a player manager
Game Set to be fair
BBC weather man John Ketely today predicted good weather for the clash on Saturday and said it would be “ perfect conditions for football”
Overnight rain will leave a slippery top surface on Saturday morning but the sun will be out and it will be warm.. up to 13 degrees centigrade. There will also be a slight 7 mph breeze blowing in the direction of the changing rooms for the teams to make use of. The only concern might be the early start might mean the first half being played in some foggy mist conditions. Managers Jamo and Peter Jones were pleased with the way the weather looks.
Press in full force at Game
Along with the SloppyShire Star there will be a number of press at the game come Saturday. World famous photographer Telford Shrew will be there to catalogue the game for future generations to come. He got fulsome praise for his work on the first of the Vets games and caught the lethargy of Glyn Price perfectly. He also managed to catch in perfect Technicolor he all action performances of JP and Pilch in goal, but what’s he looking forward to on Saturday. “Im most looking forward to the game, works a side issue in these events” “but I will be looking to get some pictures of the young lads this week, many of them have shyed away from the press in the last few years so these pictures always sell well” When asked about the victors “ I think it will be close but the Under 20;s to sneak it 2-1 with a winner from Rob”. The Under 20’s will be hoping that this comes true.
The Sloppshire Star will be back on Friday with the odds on the game and the thoughts of local celebrities such as Phil Thomas, Norge and others!!
