YESTERDAY I WAS GUTTED TO HERE THAT SEAN BUTLER HAS RELEASED FROM THE YOUTH BOOKS I WAS SHOCKED AND DISGUSTED!! WHATEVER REASON HE HAS BEEN RELEASED THIS LAD WITH JOE HART WERE THE FUTURE OF THE TOWN THE REST OF THE YOUTH TEAM ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! SEAN WAS A GREAT PROSPECT FAST AS HELL SKILLFUL AND KNEW WHERE THE NET WAS AND HE SCORED PLENTY OF GOALS IF ANY OF YOU LOT HAVE SEEN HIM PLAY WILL KNOW THAT HE IS A CLASS ACT AND WOULD OF BEEN BETTER THAN LUKE RODGERS QUITE EASILY!! SO I HAVE A MESSAGE TO THE YOUTH TEAM COACHES BUCK YA IDEADS UP OR THE FUTURE WILL LOOK BLEAK

Sean was a reasonable player but I don't think he would have made it.
For his sake I hope he proves the Town wrong and finds a new club.

Sean was a god player, and a decent guy if you knew him. Yes he could of made it, but off the field he doesn't have the right mentality of a football player, infact on it he is at times a liability. Like Richard Harris, a great talent, but should of acted differently off the pitch.

sean was easily the best player in the youth team. he's quick skillful and could turn a game around easily. i watched him many times but the game which stands out is when he scored an excellent hat trick in the fa youth cup. quinny sort it out you should of given him a pro. no-one complains about luke or sammy about them drinking or causing trouble, give the lad a break. i spoke to him the other day and he said he's got trials with a few LEAGUE CLUBS. shrewsbury have just lost there best talent so sean go out and prove them all wrong. BUTLER 4EVA

Let's see Sean go to another club and get a contract then.

if what he gets up to off the pitch is true then its entirely his own fault and good riddance to him, i got back from the tamworth game and the first pub i went in i bumped into a 17 year old keeper buying a round of beers and looked like he had been there all day and didn't even know how the town had got on (i had my camera on my but decided it was best to keep it in my pocket as it may have been a one off)

This lad seems a good talent, but what has he done to get released?
Its a shame for the lad but if he cant control his own disclipine then really he has no one else to blame but himself, I presume he wasnt released for no reason at all.

The start of this thread was predicting a bleak future for STFC for letting go young talent. Unfortunately our recent history and beyond as been littered with talented players who didn't know how to apply themselves to a disciplined environment, they've let other people massage their egos and fell under the lure of the evil drink. If this young lad has been displaying all the charateristics of a big time charlie before getting anywhere near to the first team then it appears to me that we've done the right thing in showing him the door, we don't need anymore ****heads.

Totally agree Jamo- it sounds like he has had lots of chances- it is a shame his mates, who have contributed to this thread, cant give him a reality check as it seems like he is prepared to throw his considerable talent down the drain

Talking about shooting yourself in the foot eh? Quite frankly it riles me that lads who are lucky enough to have footballing talent p**s it up the wall for women and a good time- This really is beyond me Good news about Gary Price (as sponsered by WOLF-FLOW Heating Technologies ) going out to Bridgnorth on loan- I'm telling you guys, this lad will break through to the seniors over the next season or two.

I agree whole hearedly with the last couple of posts. Gary price seems to be doing very well and hopefulyl his time at bridgenorth will work out as excellent experience for him.
I have to emphasise but Giles said before; I'd have given anything to have a go at being a footballer - I can't believe how some people throw those chances away

Gary Price has improved greatly but will never have the talent of Daniel March.
And what has happened to him? Been on trial at Hereford i believe.
Butler was a very raw player, bags of ability but a poor attitude to authority and no personal discipline.
Just ask Quinn about any of the youth players, he won't even know there names.

He doesnt need to know their names. There is a structure in place that seperates the youth team from the first team/reserves.
The youth team is run seperatly and by different coaches.
Quinn only needs to take not of them when he is advised that maybe he should have a look at a player ready to make the step up.

I'd like to think the manager takes some interest in the youth team. He'd get a better idea of how good the youth players are by watching them as regularly as possible.
