Longdon,Longdon Common, Annscrof, all nice little villages/hamlets short distances between Pontesbury and Shrewsbury centre itself. If he's bringing a family with him, its especially a good place to live as it falls within the Mary Webb catchment area, which is a much undervalued, but greatly improving school in pontesbury.

Welshpool:
* The right side of the border * A leading comprehensive school * Fantastic scenery * Low crime rates
But I'd live in the majority of places mentioned.
Described in fantastic terms by none other than lloyd George (the quote's a bit murky in my head at the moment but involves entrances to cities, and eden.....anthony eden?....who knows.......(

Yes Kate has taken to William Brookes very well considering she has been at Barrow School since age 4 years.
I could try making a argument for Broseley, but everyone would laugh.
"Come to Broseley and have the windows taken out of your car"
It won't catch on.
But its years now since people have shot at the house so maybe its improving.

Been following this thread, you never know, I may want to move back one day.
Having said that, its all about the feel of a place. you cant just say that a certain place is the best place, and expect one or any other person to have the same feeling.
Ive learned this through experience. I never got a good feeling about where I live, and consequently, have regetted moving here from day one.
also, the type of housing may be a factor. I only like brand new houses (low maintenance), so I think the only option for a village that I know of would be cross houses, where persimmon are building.

Minsterley is a hole. Longden is OK, but the football pitch is very bumpy and there's normally a dog training school on there when I try and get a game.

Why not try Condover. iv lived here all my life. There are good transport connections with the town, aswell as Telford and Church Stretton. There is a nursery and primary school in the village and always welcomes new pupils if they're from the village. There is also a village shop which is being cleaned up and new owners should be moving in soon, there is a PO and a social club in the village but if you want a drink you can pop to The Fox a couple of minutes away, a very friendly pub..but book if you want a meal! also there is a recreational field which has a reasonable full size pitch and a very nice cricket green. The redidents are all very pleasant and always greets new people in. Hope this has helped!

Just to the north of town lies a little hamlet called Ditherington, it's got all the usual amenities, the locals are friendly and it has a very low crime rate, all in all a most charming place to reside.
