"So we got 2800+ against Exeter at the start of the season coz you were in our league?"
Didn't you get that much because it was your 1st home game of the season and your 1,000th Conference game or something like that. Was the main stand also open for the first time?

i'm very pleased with our attendances and i think our average is based on just league games and doesn't everyones include away fans ? like the big followings from us and Hereford in your case?

Ta, Bowya, for confirming that TUFC's support comes mostly from Wellington. Never thought that it would be as much as that though. Case for you going back to your old name?

STFC being in the same league has surely generated some more interest in TUFC. The Shroppy Star 'bigged up' both teams during pre-season, and Telford have had a much fairer share of the back pages this season. It won't have made much of a difference to attendances, but I am sure STFC and TUFC being in the same league has helped in a small way at least.

Maybe who knows? so is that the case for you ? your attendances have been higher with TUFC being in the same league as you?

You could be right Bally. On the whole, I think both teams have been promoted better by the local media this season because of us being in the same league. I am sure this has helped somewhat in the attendances both teams have been getting.

that just shows that Telford haven't got as many passionate fans as Shrewsbury have. i was thinking of making a structured well argued post to counter your points but instead went for this.... you sir are an idiot

yea ok guys...i think weve kinda gathered that telford aint "rakin" in the fans but u cant doubt the passion n woteva the supporters have for the club, albeit a few, but still those few could keep the club going i just think we really should get off their backs about their attendances, they've never been high, we know that, they know that!although the attendances are a big part of their quest for survival, those that turn out cant make another 2-3000 turn up can they....just let them get on with it now and hope that they get through it!!! :)well said, we have a league average increase of over 80% - any team would be happy with that and people have came because of the team we amassed and the stadium that we play in, its gone tits up and now unfortunetly some of them arent interested - 1700+ for me today was a very good attendance.

Considering Gravesend had about 30 fans i don't think the gate was too bad considering it was the 4th game in 8 days. You have to remember that a lot of fans have other commitments (families) to pay for so going to football all the time is not always possible.I guess some of our younger fans will understand more in years to come when they open their eyes a bit more.
The diehards at Telford deserve to have a club next season and i am sure they will.It would probably be a good idea for them to run the budget to 1200-1400 fans as an average to make sure they are financially stable as they could always add to it if gates are higher.

The kids for a quid would have no doubt put the extra on the gate. When Salop did the kids for £2 last season on the one game the attendance was up by approx 300+ for that game.

oops forgot you are the Man utd of the Conference according to JQ you may mock that comment, but do you not remember Mick 'joker' Moans comparing an ailing midtable side to Arsenal earlier on in the season?

you may mock that comment, but do you not remember Mick 'joker' Moans comparing an ailing midtable side to Arsenal earlier on in the season? Is that the same Mick Moans that said a few weeks ago that Lee Mills and Chris Murphy were out for the rest of the season And after Canvey Tony Naylor was out for the rest of the season. And could not give a damn about Shrewsbury Town

If your going to mock TUFC leave attendances well alone - we all know they are a feeder club for all the wolves fans who dont like to go to away games and its a joke how that town cannot get 2500+ every game - there is only one way atterndaces are going at TUFC next year down - and they know it No if your going to mock look at the gap between us and them, and the fact that they only JUST drew with Gravesend at home

In fairness steve i have alway hated Telford as they are local rivals - as i guess deep deep down you wish us no good thoughts at all. I did feel sorry for you for a bit - but know that never in a million years are you going to go to the wall know and so i feel more justified in mocking as it will make no diff whats so ever. Even someone very close to the club i know who works there every week is 100% tottal convinsed that you will be saved - make of that what you will. So in sumation i could not be nice about it forever - i would be cheating myself Next one of your meeting that you have - tell all the fans they are welcome down the medow next year if they want to watch conf football oh and nice to see you overlooked the point of that post above - they football result was what i was getting at - poor again? Much as i hate your lot steve - keep fighting - you will not go bust, of that im sure

Arsenal eh? Whos arrogant now? You're embarrasing yourself now mate. At the end of the day we attracted 1700 odd for a meaningless league game against poor opposition on a bank holiday weekend when the opposition only bought, as stated above 30ish fans. This time last year we'd have gotten between 700 and 850. And this isn't because Shrewsbury are in our league. This is because we've attracted a decent playing squad, who admittedly aren't performing to their true potential, but all the same are a decent bunch of players. It's also because we're playing in a new stadium with top class facilities. And you imply that the reason Shrewsbury's attendances have gone up is because Telford are in the same league. In my eyes the reason you're getting higher attendances is because you've got a squad that's superior to alot of Conference squads, but is inferior to alot of league clubs, so the stayaway fan will see that there's a strong possibility of glory, wheras last season you were failing miserably. It's wrong to say that because we're not filling the stadium for every game that we don't deserve a team. And it's pathetic to imply that Shrewsburys fans are more passionate than Telford fans, because until you've spent a fair few games standing or sitting with the hardcore supporters you'll never know. I KNOW that the Telford faithful are some of the most passionate fans you'll find anywhere on earth, I'm not in a position to comment on STFC's support, although from what I see on here and by attendances both at home and away you seem a passionate bunch of fans, but for me to say that we're more passionate than you would be b******s, because it's not really something that's measurable anyway.

I think we all appreciate your support, and by your I mean yourself and the rest of the Shrewsbury fans that are helping our cause, but just because we're going through a rough patch it doesn't mean that local rivalries should be thrown out of the window. Rivalries are what make football great, and the one between Telford and Shrewsbury is brilliant. If you'd have beaten us this season I think we'd have all expected you to be on here and on Buckschat gloating, just as you probably expected it of us!

Yes Pricey, I know where you are coming from.
However, I don't hate Shrewsbury and I never have done. Last season (funnily enough) I was hoping they would make the play-offs. It was only when it all started going downhill that I was keen that you got relegated! (I am a man of extremes!)
I hope you don't get promoted this season, but thats only because I believe that you think you have a divine right to be in the league and that one season in non-league won't be enough to teach you a lesson!
Indeed, in years past, when TUFC didn't have a game we sometimes came to watch Shrews on Saturdays (possibly twice or three times a season). Lunch in the Admiral Benbow, a few pints in the Acorn, off to the game and then finish up in the Castle Vaults afterwards. You could either catch the bus or train home when you were ready. I recall a superb 3-0 demolition of Leicester (Alan Irvine's era) and a memorable 3-3 draw with Bolton during these times.
I like to see Shropshire and Shropshire teams succeed, at whatever discipline, at whatever level. It is fantastic, though, as a fan to beat your local rivals, especially as they hate the fact they are now playing at the same level so much.
Your time will come, you will make it back to the football league, sooner or later and I won't mind a bit. A lot of things that your club and fanbase do are a credit to the club and should be applauded.
I, for one, am looking to emulate this model in some areas to improve the platform for TUFC.
The reason our crowds are so low is that no-one at TUFC has ever bothered trying to entice people in to the ground, certainly in my lifetime. This has to, and will, change. You can spend a week in Telford and unless you buy a newspaper or tune to local radio, the chances of you discovering the town has a football club are about a thousand to one!

That guy at the meeting on Friday made a good point. In Canvey the match was advertised everywhere. To know who Telford are playing you need to be at the Bucks Head or reading a paper!

In some ways steve you make a point i have been thinking of for a while - as we have been - on top for so long (in shropshire) the thought and therefore the hatred ( a bit strong possibley) is more that we get in return? as to lose to you was the biggest blow of the season for us, yet a loss to us would have been just annoying to you??? I could never go to telford if town were not playing - just cos i never miss a town game and it costs me too much already (good job i got a good job ;D) Anyway - yes im one of the arrogant town fans Steve as i enterd the ground yesterday at Fanborough i remarked god i hate this leage to which the programm seller said - I dont balme you mate
